VIDEO: LEGO Architecture Louvre - REVIEW
Steve309 replied to Zusammengebaut's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I didn't understand what you were saying. But I enjoyed the pictures. How did you manage to get the set almost 2 months early? -
It's September 1st On the Facebook page I asked them a few months ago and they answered. Not sure about a limited release But main release date is September 1st
-
Only thing I can think of. Is it's a future set with Jurassic world line. And will be released along side the DVD release
-
Just built 21023 flatiron set. And it's a fun build. Some intresting techniques used. But my initial feelings from when images first surficed of how the scale is off still stands. The middle floors are "squished" together. But the bottom few and top few floors are the same sizes a the middle. They needed to add more middle floors to this lego model. And looking at it now. The crease right in front where it's supposed to be rounded does not look good at all. As someone who has them all this may be one of the worst sets. It's a competition between this and leaning tower of Pisa for which is worse. But that's my opinion. And I'm someone who favors towers. But I'm really excited for The Lourve

Not really big news. But the flatiron building is on the May 2015 lego calendar http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-may-2015-store-calendar-promos-and-events/ Hopefully someone gets it early and puts up a review for it.

I have been trying to collect this set of all different location keychains. Some have been easier then others to find. I come here to ask if anyone knows how certain locations are picked and if they have any significance? (ie. why is there a berlin and germany. But there is no USA although 4 cities have one within the country.) Does anyone know the reason these cities and locations have a key chain? http://www.brickshel...00-overview.jpg Also curious which ones you have. I have Orlando, Anaheim, New York, Berlin, Canada, Germany With Hawaii, Legoland and Paris on the way. (source of picture http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=524993 )

Incorrect. There was a valentines day and Easter set There was a bear with a heart http://brickset.com/sets/40085-1 And Easter bunny with carrot http://brickset.com/sets/40086-1/LEGO-Easter
-
Also on the Facebook page. The release dates are May 1st and September 1st for the 2 new sets.
-
You may be alittle off with dates -Imperial hotel March 1 2013 -Leaning tower of Pisa June 1 2013 -UN building was October 1 2013 -Marina Bay Sands was Dec 1 2013 (in limited area) (lego always says 2014. But was on store shelves in December and Lego Korean site) -Eiffel Tower was Jan 1 2014 -Trevi fountain was June 1 2014 ( Aug 1 North America) And yea. I would rather win 2nd prize. Especially since not available in Canada (where I live) And if a fan of architecture line. You'd already have Lincoln memorial
-
Lego architecture Facebook page is doing a contest. Read the terms and conditions. First prize is "First place: One of each LEGO Architecture 2015 model shipped directly to the winner’s house immediately after launch (Total value of $129.97 / EUR 129,97). " https://business.facebook.com/LEGO/app_588696104586297?business_id=671541529583421&ref=page_internal Now since it's value is 129.97. With math we know there are 3 sets coming out with the .97 cents part ( each set is ##.99 with three makes it .97) Also confirms a large set is not coming out Lincoln memorial is $29.99 Leaving 99.98 left between the flatiron building and the unknown set Flatiron is 471 pieces so around $50 each set sounds reasonable. On European sites 21024 does show up €54.99 ( http://www.deksto.nl/xxxxxxxx-lego-21024 ) So that price sounds accurate. So there you go one more ~ $50 set is coming by the end of 2015 and that's it for the year.
-
If it is in the 1st half of the year Gives me hope we will see at least one more set come out either September 1st or October 1st And get a leak around May/June. Pretty much how UN building played out.
-
Website has always been like that. Very bare minimum. I'm surprised they revealed the Lincoln memorial early. (Showing picture without the sheet on top). After this is flatiron. I would imagine another set is coming in the 2nd half of the year. Just hasn't leaked yet.
-
I also have all of them. And I'm dissapointed they did this as a set. It doesn't highlight an architectural marvel of the world. It's essentially a box. But with that said. Personally isn't the worst set. I still dislike the leaning tower of Pisa the most. But well done on the review. Always nice to see a set early.

So 21022 Lincoln Memorial appeared on amazon UK The description has some interesting info. Product Description Recreate the Lincoln Memorial with a LEGO Architecture Landmark Series building set with removable roof and Abraham Lincoln statue. http://www.amazon.co.uk/LEGO-21022-Architecture-Lincoln-Memorial/dp/B00NVDJEGO/ref=pd_zg_rss_nr_k_h_b_cs_364074031_5?ie=UTF8&tag=doginthewate-21&utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter#productDescription_secondary_view_pageState_1418052469389 I assume it's a January 1st release. But there's been no info on the architecture line in months.
-
Thanks for the info. Although. 10,000 only and for people actually flying is going to make this set expensive on the secondary market.
-
Well to be fair it's always been leaked like this. Where these 2 sets will be first half of the year. Then between March-may like how we learned about UN headquarters the September 1st set leaks. We didn't learn about marina bay sands until September of 2013. With it coming out in December. So always possablity for a late leak. But I agree with all. It's dissapointing to see the line slowing down.
-
I would like to see a re-release. But the greedy side in me wouldn't since I have one. (Paid retail plus shipping. Helps to have family in Singapore. And yes I only bought one. ) If they do re-release it. I would want there to be a diffrance. Change a colour. just something distinguishable. Make it look like it's a different set. So putting both side by side they don't look identical. Also if they do. I don't want it to be in spot of what could be another release. I know makes me sound greedy.

Back when Rockefeller center came out I was in New York the gift shop sold it for $5 more. Even though there's a lego store on site within walking distance.
-
Flatiron I think scale is way off. They tried to hard to show the top few floors and the bottom few floors. So I feel since they put too much detail in displaying those sections. The middle floors got 'squished' Hopefully looks better when built. At the moment I'm not impressed by it. Lincoln Memorial- looks good. I pictured it to be bigger. I hope we get a Lincoln that fits inside I'm starting to want another large set. $150-$200 Robie house now retired. And over 4 years ago

Book Review: "LEGO Architecture: The Visual Guide"
Steve309 replied to henrysunset's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I like the book. I look forward to new architecture sets the most. So as with the book I was waiting for it to come out. Would have liked to see more initial designs. They showed one for the Sydney opera house. To me seems like a detailed instruction manual. With out the building instructions. Glad they included Marina Bay Sands. The real life pictures they include look really good. -
2015 The LEGO Movie rumors and discussion
Steve309 replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yesterday at Fan Expo Toronto. At the Lego booth. Was Lego movie give away day. They were giving away the Radio DJ Robot minifigure. Nice surprise since this was a promotional give away when it was first released. http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140125123639/lego/images/4/48/Radio_DJ_Robot.png
