  1. no there's no interior. I've mailed every person I could find at UP, the museum etc etc, to get pictures of the interiors of these coaches but never got a responce. And I don't just want to put something in that's not even close to what it should be. Only exceptions are the seat coaches, there I'll just put seats in so I can place minifigs
  2. She sure has been a challenge to design and build, I was worried that I couldn't do the things I did virtually in real bricks, like the nose that's narrowing. When I look back at the pictures from my previous version it's not hard to see the progress I made in 2 years in building techniques and eye for detail
  3. She's all finished now so I decided to give her an all new topic, I hope this is ok. Here she is in all her glory: The new nose: Tubing: Even more tubing: Top shot: Tender: credits to: Jayhurts for the original idea for the placement of the motors in the boiler Scruffulous for the end truck of the tender (copied from his flatcar) Shuppiluliumas and Cale Leiphart for the inspiration for the sloped window of the cabin and the valvegear JopieK for the stickers Zephyr1934 for the wonderfull bars and valvegear parts And last but not least Tony Sava for being such an inspiration with his trains (I hope I did not forget someone) before anyone askes: no, don't have a video yet, all my track is tight up in my layout at home but it's to dark to shoot a video of her running on that
  4. UP Railway post office coach #8225 by Barduck12, on Flickr The second coach that's finished (3th is halfway done now too), a RPO coach with n°8225 (stickers still missing though) This one has the correct bogies from the start. Instructions will be on my bricklink today http://www.bricklink...e.asp?p=Barduck
  5. bogies have now been changed: UP "American Beauty" sleeper coach by Barduck12, on Flickr
  6. funny you should mention the prius I was just thinking about Jeff Dunham's joke on the sound it makes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qP-tyvBGla4
  7. I get it, lol. These will only be used on shows. At home there's no station anyway so that doesn't matter anyway. I think the longest station that's used alot on the show of our LUG (BeLUG) is 12 straigths, so it'll not be able to serve the whole train
  8. I don't want to push it going to make a nice dent in my wallet as it is They are from this set btw (can't seem to find any pictures of the real ones so a link to a modelrailway site): http://www.brasstrains.com/Classic/Product/Detail/052874/HO-Brass-Model-Train-TCY-Coach-Yard-1385-SP-1954-COSF-City-of-San-Francisco-SP-UP-CNW-11-Car-Set
  9. maybe at double the scale it would be buildable like that but what use is the coach then
  10. The problem with the current bogies is also that I can not seem to find the person on Flickr that designed those, can't recall his name and searches don't give me anything. Should the person that designed those recognize them could you please say so, at least I can then credit for those (allthough, like I said above, I'm not going to use them further once I've got the new ones build)
  11. not 7 more, this is the first of 6 planned so 6 in total My SD-60 shouldn't have much trouble pulling them wit 2 PF train engines and once I've changed my Big Boy to have 4 L-PF engines instead of M-PF ones she shouldn't have any trouble pulling them aswell. And even if the Big Boy does run in to trouble I can always do like IRL, put the SD-60 at the end (reversed) (IRL they use the diesel for extra breaking power)
  12. 7 studs wide and over 60 studs long, the first of a total of 6 planned coaches is finished. (well not totally, I've changed the design of the bogies now but still need to get the parts to build them. The design I'm going with is based on the ones J.J.Williams a.k.a. DmChylde did on his heritage coaches as seen here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/89867050@N07/9578691801/in/set-72157635202325131 . They will visually look the same but the technic used to get them is somewhat different) All I need now to finish this baby are the stickers which JopieK will be making for me (when he finds the time ;) ) The pictures: This last one I've taken from a distance, it make the coach almost look like a model instead of LEGO UP "American Beauty" sleeper coach by Barduck12, on Flickr Again instructions are available on my Bricklink store: http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=Barduck Parts can get pretty pricy, specially the windows, but I've included instructions for a work-around on those Enjoy
  13. Seen it on your Flickr account before really beautifull like the rest of your designs. One note though, should it be 2-8-4 instead of 1-4-2?
  14. yes, atm I've got one build but I'm planning on having at least 6
  15. My newest baby and finally some stock, a 7 studs wide, 40 studs long coal hopper featuring a removable lid to create the illusion of being filled. 7 wide 40 long coal hopper by Barduck12, on Flickr 7 wide 40 long coal hopper by Barduck12, on Flickr 7 wide 40 long coal hopper by Barduck12, on Flickr Instructions avaible thru my bricklink: http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=Barduck
  16. http://users.skynet.be/billieth/verzameling.htm site (in dutch) with pictures of HO scale trains in the color used by the Belgian traincompagny
  17. Really nice one. I've had pictures of this on my pc some time, pondering if I should give it a shot. Only one thing, the Belgian green used on locomotives in that era was quite a bit darker so dark green would have made it look better. Oh well, guess there's no more point in designing my own, this one allready looks spot on and would be very hard to get better
  18. there's a bit less swing in curves which helps for the connection of the front pony truck and of the tender with FBBF. SHe drives nicely, had her pulling 14 standard LEGO cars (some from the old ICE train, got 5 cars like that for example) no noticable decreasement of speed in turns. She even runs so nicely I'm considering putting 4 L PF's in the Big Boy aswell instead of 4 medium ones. A video won't be up until she's 100% finished (or rather, 99%. Like Jayhursts said to me when I posted pictures of the old triplex version; a MOC is never 100% done, there's always things that can be changed)
  19. She's nearing completion now, it's time to start fase 2 which consists in to correcting any errors in the design of the boiler, and adding extra tiles with clip where needed in order to add all the hoses (well, all is impossible but many) progress 18/5/'14 by Barduck12, on Flickr credits for the design of the tender truck go to Scruffulous, used on the flatcar he designed: VFTY Timber Wagon by scruffulous, on Flickr Once I'm done with fase 2 I can look in to chancing the design of the front truck to add more detail there
  20. more progress has been done: tender: cabin: progress 17/05/'14 by Barduck12, on Flickr
  21. I'd say she's running like she should, decent speed and good power. Offcourse she'll slow down in the tight LEGO turns, specially when she got some load to pull. Try her on a layout with longer straights in between turns, or with smoother radius turns, I think she might surprise you. Sweet engine
  22. When I posted the pictures of my version of the Allegheny, which was based on Tony Sava's, did I not give him credit? http://www.eurobrick...wtopic=83927 There's even credit in that topic on Jayhurst big boy, one which I haven't posted pictures off here (not on it's own anyway) Even in the WIP of my Virginian I'm giving credit to Cale for the solution he used on his challenger for the sloped window at the front of the cabin. A front without which I couldn't have redesigned her http://www.eurobrick...29#entry1881917 But, as I said above, I've done this one on my own. They almost look the same, yes. ALMOST but not quite. You can be sure that if I had made a copy I would have given credit, don't know why I wouldn't.There's only so many ways you can build one type of engine and we both had the same idea about it. When I was searching for pictures I googled H20-44 because that was the way the site with the modelrailroad piece had it listed, doing that search there's no pictures of a LEGO version and so I couldn't have know you had allready build it. I assumed, because I didn'nt get any hits on a LEGO version, I could go ahead with my design. It's only when I used H-20-44 as search when I was looking for extra pictures that I came across yours and by that time mine was allready 90% build.
  23. I can only give him credit for being first but mine isn'nt a copy of his despite of what he thinks. If you look closely you'll see the differences. Mine is 2 studs longer for one, the diesel tank, or rather the part behind it looks better on his, mine has only one clip holding the bar at the cabin, I didn't do the arms on the bogies because I didn'nt even think of that, obviously mine has PF where his has 9V. That may not seem like a big difference but making sure the chassis is strong enough with a hole in the middle to pass that freakingly large PF connector is a real pain in the you know what. So in conclusion, yes you made one first Bricknerd but to declare mine is a straight copy I can honestly say nope. If we all follow that idea then we can all stop building trains because you can be damned sure someone will allready have build a version of it
  24. great though I think she'd look even nicer in dark green, but I think not all parts exist in that color yet
  25. there's simply not enough room where the reciever is to put the battery aswell, not the 9v one I'm using and specially not a LEGO one. As for instructions, for the moment I'm not going to share them as, like I said, there is some else that build this model too which is almost the same and I don't want to give out instructions without knowing if he doesn't mind
