  1. Still waiting on some orders but with I allready got I've started the build: And a comparison with a normal LEGO train so you get just how big this thing is going to be: WIP DDA40X by Barduck12, on Flickr
  2. she does look cramped indeed, and the nose seems to long. I did mine some time ago, it seems ages now: https://www.flickr.com/photos/91060327@N07/14061878942/in/set-72157641079372804 I even added buildguide, partslist and MLCaD file to download (to change colors if wanted) at the time: pdf: app.box.com/...3wjzn30gzln7lax partslist: app.box.com/...nxow24djl7ewegj MLCad file (for those that want to try different colors setup): app.box.com/...at26wh41gejn6hv
  3. if you conect the lights directly to the battery then yes you are, else the battery is sitting in idle and doesn't put current on the lights (or if you connect a motor, it too will not run unless you turn the little switch). It's different with the revievers, with those it's the reciever that does this job.
  4. have you turned the little switch on the battery? The one with an axle hole
  5. I've made and added the instruction to build my son's MOC, with some changes though (better part usage, some structural changes, etc) but nothing that changes the general look of the model. So for those interested you can find it on my Flickr account. Here's the first page: instructions p1 by Barduck12, on Flickr
  6. just finished up the partslist sorting and the count is in: 2896 parts
  7. I'm in love. Might even try my own, if I find time. Such great colors, style and details, it's just out of this world
  8. the Big Boy has 4XL motors in her boiler (coming from 4 medium ones), haven't been able to test her to see how many coaches she could pull as we did not have a train layout this year at the event. The coaches are indeed quite heavy but I think she should still be able to pull all 6 if we use the smooth curves instead of LEGO standard curves. I will be adding extra PF train motors to one or maybe 2 of the next coaches I do to give it more power and I can always put my SD-60 at the end to help pull. Once my DDA0X is done she can also be used to pull the whole lot instead of the Big Boy.
  9. setting her up like this has made me start designing the other 5 coaches missing for this coachyard, so more to follow in a few weeks/months
  10. Taken at Brick Mania Antwerp, today, just after the doors closed DSC_1948 by Barduck12, on Flickr
  11. click on the link: https://www.flickr.c...07/15773138555/
  12. got a video up of the chassis (quick and dirty moc'up) driving around a small layout. https://www.flickr.c...07/15773138555/ As well as new renders from LDraw this time: DDA40X by Barduck12, on Flickr
  13. it is, it's even sitting on my desk. He wants me to put in LDD so that, should mom ever take it apart, he can rebuild it
  14. and asked if I would post it. He made a, pretty nice, speedboat, there's room for improvement but the basics for a nice MOC are there I'd say. It's the first time he made something I find nice enough to take pictures of, usually he mixes colors and builds something where I scratch my head trying to figure out what it is. So here are the pictures: posing prowdly with his creation: speedboat by Barduck12, on Flickr
  15. DDA40X by Barduck12, on Flickr changed the bogies (added 1 stud in length), took out some errors, changed position of the front ladder. Now to put everything over in MLCad and while I do that look where I can lose some bricks to reduce brick count (3200 atm)
  16. project X by Barduck12, on Flickr Now to correct some errors
  17. New update: project X by Barduck12, on Flickr
  18. project X by Barduck12, on Flickr Going fast now, but time to call it a night It would, but I also think my wife would find an awesome reason to punish me, lol
  19. Got to say v6TransAM, that C855 Alco seems very interesting to build too
  20. project X by Barduck12, on Flickr Some tampering and we're a bit further
  21. I'm doing bogies with 2 pf train motors under it, I've allready tested set up for one bogie and that takes curves and switches with no problem and is able to pull one of my UP coaches thru the corners. Time will tell if the whole train will be able to go thru normal LEGO curves but my first guess is that she will but it'll look weird.
  22. atm I got the first design done for like 80%, she's 8 studs wide (10 at the middle part of the roof) and 109 studs long (yes, one hunderd and nine studs) and allready has over 2000 parts in her
  23. well, you'll have the PDF with the instructions to build it yourself once I'm finished with the design and testing, will probably take a month or 2 Some extra teasers where I'm going with it. She'll feature a removable roof on the cabin with controls for the driver added project X by Barduck12, on Flickr
  24. lol, never thought someone would guess it so fast with the little info I've given
  25. I'm currently busy designing a new train to add to the collection, for the moment I'm designating him Project X but with a reason. The reason being: first forum member to guess what train it is will get, once finished, the PDF with the building instructions (I will be putting it on Bricklink afterwards) At the moment I'm reveling the following tips: - Is part of the UNION PACIFIC fleet (only 1 in service anymore, other either scrapped or at museums) - Was an experimentle train, hence the X - Is a Diesel First teaser: project X by Barduck12, on Flickr As the days pass, and as long a nobody guesses, I will be posting extra tips and teasers until the name is guessed. Oh and DmChylde, you are offcourse exclude from the guessing game, you allready know which train it is (but you'll get the instructions anyway if you want them) Let the game begin, lol
