Stern is starting to look quite good already! Maybe a day or two and it will be finito! Thanks for all the compliments guys.
-
Thank you people, Dread Pirate Wesley and Captain Becker I will be changing the stern soon, don't know about gunports though, it would take a while and I would have to redo lots of rigging. EDIT:After looking at Achille it would seem I definately rushed the stern a bit, mine lacks any splendor, I think I know what I will be doing during revising breaks

Just added, misclikced and had to edit stuff.

104B The HMS Maverick, a frigate bearing 14 guns on deck. She is a British ship of the line used primarily for hunting pirate ships, just recently bringing the Devil's Serpent down to Davy Jones' Locker. Her sister ship is the imperial flagship, together they have brought down many a pirate ship. Well this is my latest ship, the HMS Maverick. I am always trying to become that one level higher every time I build a new ship and this ship is no different. With help from Captain Green Hair's Build a Frigate and many other help from other members' techniques. So I bring you the HMS Maverick. Here we see the ship in all it's glory. Recycled figurehead from Devil's Serpent! I love this picture as it really emphasizes the curve on the side of the ship. Well that is the HMS Maverick, more can be seen on my flickr and as always Comments and Criticism are highly appreciated! EDIT: Right after 3 weeks here is the Mod as promised, I am sorry it is really, really belated I just completed my GCSE's P.S. Also mods can you change the topic name to "UPDATED:HMS Maverick" please?

Slight spoiler warning. Isn't the captains cabin set technically on the bottom deck of the ship as that is where all the bottles are held?
-
Why thank you guys! I would love to make Ezio with his white hood, or maybe a group of assassins to go with him. I am a bit of a purist so it is hard to make purist guys from games
-
When I eventually get this ship the mods will certainly be required! I love how you made the curve and the crow's nest! However I would just leave the new headrail's without anything on them.

Blackbeard's anchor recovered from shipwreck of the real Queen Ann

The shipwreck was 20 foot under water? Suspicious methinks. -
Awesome ship so far! I don't usually post on WIPs but I thought I would pop in to say that it is looking fine, also a great idea to name it after one of the sailors' biggest superstitions!

After emailing the LEGO company they sent me some! However there was no reply email, just a letter with the gold saying they will put this complaint forward to the designers.
-
May I use your lantern designs, they are fantastic!

I saw it as well today and was about to say the same thing, some sets do not look like how they should in the movie and some sets I wuld say are missing characters that are quite pivotal. However the movie is actually really good, certainly better than the third film. Luckily the LEGO ship i'm making at the moment looks like Barbossa's ship -

I would like him more if he had leg printing, I would also like to add the tattered LEGO cape to him. Even if he doesn't have leg printing the left leg of the Norrington minifig would suffice. -

Okay so we have slightly ascertained that Davy Jones is in the new sets, but do you think this is the official minifigure? I would think so. -
I just emailed them, usually they are very good via email. Once I told them about my disappointment when they got rid of the old train track and they sent me a letter with a keyring.

I am expecting the BP to be similar to the BB just with an extra hull piece and a different cabin. As long as It has plenty modding opportunities then it is fine for me. Also who says it won't have the Kraken? I can't see any other way of making the Kraken in any other set, I mean if it is similar to the BB then we could expect about 600 parts for the actual ship and about 200 pieces to make the kraken, seems fairly decent to me. -

Barbossa does not step foot on the Black Pearl in DMC (but you do see his foot ), so I think that is highly unlikely, on the other hand Davy Jones does and this would indicate LEGO adding him on the ship. Why? Because some customers would buy the BP simply because of the minifigures (in some extreme cases)and making 4 exclusive minifigures in one set makes the set highly resellable in a sense, also it would just be awesomesauce . -
I absolutely love it! How much is it on Bricklink? As it looks like quite a lot! I love the brickbuilt cannons and also can't believe how much better it looks in the 'brick'. Good luck (not that it is needed) and I can't wait to see further progress!

I thought it would be Davy Jones, why make a set based on the second movie and not have the main villain? Even if he is not on the ship i'm sure he was added so you get an 'exclusive' Davy Jones. I would actually like to have the Kraken on the side of the ship, it would be awesomesauce. -
Realistically a Kraken set would be very unlikely. LEGO don't usually make just one big animal like thing, however I think possibly a 20 pounds set that included four or six tentacles (a new BURP piece which is pretty big will suffice (not those old 'Dragon tails' bricks)), the front of the Kraken's mouth from the iconic scene where Jack jumps in and maybe even destroyed parts of the Black Pearl, it would also be nice to have a body of Jack covered in the Kraken saliva. As for the Black Pearl which we know is coming out in November I can see it being bigger than the BB but smaller than the IFS, after all the Black Pearl has 800+ pieces whereas the IFS has 1600+ pieces, meaning it should be half the size of the IFS. A bigger Black Pearl aimed towards AFOLs would be absolutely awesome, but if the price of the BP is close to the IFS you could just heavily modify the IFS.

That cabin design is amazing, I am in love with it! The curving windows are fantastic! I also love the accuracy of this ship with pigs in it, anchors, and organ. Are you sure this is your first ship?
-
Still looks promising though, Is this inside a building, or is it a cave within the port?

I think that in November we get BP. At the same time we get 'leaked' images of the newer sets (or may get said leaked images a month or so before) due to come out January, just in time for your favourite Penguin's birthday. P.S Omitting the penguin part this is what I think will happen, also I think images of the BP will be here within one week. Just speculation. -
Does it have working lights? This is looking awesome!

Thanks Darth Yogi! A great feature that is free to use is Flickr's Picnic, just upload your photo and edit it in Picnic and you can do lots of cool stuff! Lots of my before photos look a lot worse than they became afterwards, I really like your mirroring effect as well, the background compliments Black Beard well!
