  1. I find the arms a major short coming in this MOC as well. I was trying to figure out any ways to make them chunkier, even by one stus, but the only way I could figure out was by thinning out the entire front chassis, Then he would of looked too thin by himself! However i'll persevere and thanks for the C and C!
  2. I have been toying with this idea for a while of making a LEGO transformer. I wanted to start simple so my first transformer is Optimus Prime. There seems to be a surge of AFOL/TFOL's making Optimus Prime recently but I still feel I couldn't make transformers without making their iconic leader! Here he is in truck mode, unfortunately he cannot fit a minifig (or the Matrix of leadership ) Here is his robot mode, sporting his ion blaster. And here is a close up of his head, I like this head but I feel it still needs those spikes that come out of the sides of his head. That is my Generation One Optimus Prime! Thanks for looking and any comments and criticism is appreciated.
  3. Yes the string really annoys me, I may have to get it thicker string, I found the string I used on the HMS Maverick was my favourite. That would also give me an opportunity to give my vessel some nets as well. The bow was slightly unavoidable with my amount of dark red pieces however i'm happy with how the bow turned out anyways. Thank you everyone for the comments!
  4. 110D An 18th-19th century sailing ship similar to the ships used down my local river a couple hundred years ago. My favourite image of the ship of a dad teaching his son to fish, the deck of this ship is made using the SNOT technique, the tan bricks are all on their side. It is an easy way to make a smooth deck! Here is my least favourite part of the ship, I don't know whether the stern looks good enough yet, but it will suffice for now! That is my latest ship, I wanted to build a small ship, not used for war (like all my other ships ) and I am quite happy with the way it turned out. As normal any comments and criticism are certainly appreciated (and adhered to!)
  5. In case you are wonddering (I guess you are), the LEGO catalogue arrived at my house today and it says the BP is not available until 1st November. However I hear it's been cropping up in some shops.
  6. I might actually buy some city sets next year, I don't usually buy much of them. -the bear is so loveable -I am liking the new roof section for the police car -The chinook looks nice, hopefully I can get all those pieces in dark grey -I also like the dark red truck -However I don't think I like the new Brick patterns on some bricks, it just seems un Lego-like to me, they could grow on me though
  7. They both look very nice IMO, but I am a fan of POTC and would go for the BP, I also think it looks cooler. Sure it is missing a lot of things it should have, like cannons and rigging (or a second deck, seriously LEGO?) but it is all easily fixable and you'll feel better if you make a set look better, I certainly do
  8. I can't believe how good both series 6 and 7 are! I can't believe that LEGO has made a Space Marine! But what I am really excited for is Poseidon!
  9. Still not in my local Fenwicks. I have some great and easy mods for this ship like a second deck, better rudder and just some spare rigging to add to the masts.
  10. This set looks better everytime I see it, I now seem to like it's "chunky" size.
  11. The set looks a lot better in persom, it is bulkier than the pictures from the box it seems, still I will wait for more info, and of course more reviews.
  12. That folder looks very interesting, obviously this theme did not sell well enough, so it has gone to the fishes Lego tried to late to get a deal on these sets, they should of started way back maybe during the 2nd film, sad knowing we will probably never see more POTC sets as there was some very nice possible sets that could of been made P.S On an unrelated note, Ninjago has become 100 times cooler! And finally a LEGO Chinook!
  13. I would be highly annoyed if we see yet another city train i.e. cargo train and passenger train. They are boring. I want steam trains (kids'll love 'em) and some nice simplified steam trains would look lovely. People might reply that they are too hard to make simplified enough for a kid, but the Toy Story train and the Hogwarts trains were highly accessible for children. This gives LEGO a chance to make medium sized wheels with holes in for pistons (obviously) As for AFOL sets I would love a Mallard set. Realistically, I think TLC will make yet another cargo train line.
  14. I think lego wants us to call it whatever, in that case i'll name mine, Oberon
  15. A nice cheap way to get the infamous General Grievous would be nice, like his escape pod, minifig(s): General Grievous Set: An escape pod with seats and a lightsaber holder price: £20 (the reason for the quite steep price would be becuase as you might know it is quite a big escape pod)
  16. In the UK it was available only through HMV and most people I gather didn't find out till after the release. However with these things the shops do have some stock left and might let you buy one if you ask nicely enough, I too missed out unfortunately.
  17. I don't know the Cabin is a bit high and the lanterns are strange, however it looks like it uses the real pieces within the set (sails), the material for the sails is the same as the official Black Pearl. How did someone obtain the set?
  18. Loving the Celt and the Minotaur! I would really love a Bodecia minifig ( A woman Celt). I love how the women minifigs are getting a morre action packed role in this series though.
  19. Does this mean no more POTC?
  20. The Iron Man head will definately become smaller when the sets are released, at the mo' I think it is just preliminary. :classic: Also who wants War Machine eventually? That would be epic!
  21. I really hope we see a sentinel at one point! How are they gonna sell these? Like action figures where you would get a clear box with the superheroes name? I was thinking they might sell them like "The Avengers Collections" and "The X Men Collection" that would be awesome, but i'd rather see them selling on their own.
  22. To be honest when instructions come out I will make it on LDD then mod it to my satisfaction (BTW When do instructions come out for this sort of thing?) , i.e. higher cabin, better bow and the transition from the figurehead to the prow will look better. Then all I need to do is buy the pieces off Pick a Brick and mod it myself in true Lego spirit I feel that people fail to notice that it will be chiefly children buying this and it is not meant exactly for AFOL's, but that is why it is called Lego, we can mod it to AFOL standards or carry on being grumpy about a set which is obviously aimed at a completely different audience than AFOL's. I know if this came out when I was a kid I would be the happiest little boy in the world to get this set, it is great as a playset and that is what it is meant for. When you are a kid as long as it has sails and an anchor then you're happy I will still buy it, but before I do I will mod it on LDD to how I would like to see it.
  23. I feel sorry for anyone who made customs of DC/Marvel now Seriously though this could rival Star Wars in my opinion, all the characters and sets will be amazing. Even non LEGO fans would not be able to resist
  24. I simply did not see this coming! I hope they sell original Batman as well and imagine a working bat signal! This is amazing news.
  25. $100 in America, apparently that is £62 for us in the UK (if it is actually £62 I would be amazed )
