Absolutely loving these Marvel sets! I'll have to get the Wolverine Chopper Showdown as it has 3 of the best figures, all in one set! I am also really fond of the Quinjet and the S.H.I.E.L.D Jeep. I gather the bad guy in the Avenging cycle set is Red Skull and one of his henchmen, giving that the Marvel website describes the bad guy as a "General".

I absolutely love a good LEGO Spanish Galleon, this one's fantastic! And your first MOC as an adult? I absolutely love this ship, great hob on the riggin as well by the way, I know how arduous that can be
-
I too have noticed and abundance of Pirate ships/MOC's in general on this forum. However it doesn't bother me much, I can just stick a pirate flag on any ship and it becomes a Pirate one
-
That does look very Dark Knight esque
-
Welcome DOTM Shockwave! (Original Shockwave is the best btw)
-
A couple O' pages back (The one with the Quinjet in the background) the Brick-Built Iron Man minifig has a round light on his chest. Tis' confusing.
-
If they do end up fighting Pirates I would be most displeased, that's if they replace a possible new Pirates theme.
-
That looks bigger than minifig scale Still a fine looking ship though, will it have black sails anytime soon?
-
I am starting to really like Helm's Deep, that's the one set I worried about most. It looks Modular and big, fantastic!
-
Torso cracks are the worse, my poor original Boba Fett :(
-
I really can't wait for these Marvel sets, especially the Quinjet. When should the first pictures be cropping up?
-
I can't say I have, but it's a great idea! I'm glad yours was so successful though, you would of thought with such a small hobby that not many people would be interested (hence the reason why I have never seen one). Where is your club?

Two, Emerald Night and the yello cargo train ('cept I destroyed that and used the motor for a nice little steam train) I need more trains.
-
That's great news! Even if the price is a tad steep it means I can buy what tracks I need, very useful I'm sure. Now just to finally start my permanent layout this year.

Concerning the Black Pearl's Unfortunate Rudder
______ replied to tchuk-norst's topic in LEGO Pirates
Screw the rudder, the whole damn ship needs modding! -
This is a great project! Definitely my favourite LEGO Black Pearl!

I like to use tan usually, It depends on the ship. Brown goes well with dark colours, and tan goes well with lighter colours. Of course contrast look nice. However this is a question of historical accuracy, and most ships I have been on and seen use tan, or dark tan. I prefer tan anyway.

I really love these simple God statues statues in the style of the islanders gods. You should make your own one, I did a couple 'o years back and it was great fun!

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
______ replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
Exiting in July, that gives LEGO months to bring out a UCS Flying Dutchman, I still want to be hopeful! I am sad that the theme's ending, I didn't quite know if it was selling well or not. But maybe we'll get more sets if they do decide to make 2 more films? -
Are we getting a Spiderman? In my certainlynotanexpert head I seem to remember that he was not allowed in the Avengers film because of some licensing, him being owned by another film company. Therefore, unless LEGO owns ALL rights to Marvel then I don't know whether we'll see a Spidey. Also, I would be really looking forward for Deadball Deadpool, except he seems to be in the Wolverine set, therefore being based on the "X-Men:Wolverines" movie, therefore, he will be terrible as that movie screwed him up. However, the sets seem to be great, the Quinjet! Yes! I am glad that the cheaper sets come with the coolest minifigs as well

I just thought I'd share the weirdest thing I've ever seen with the LEGO community...

Originally I only had this ship posted over on the Historical LEGO forum, thinking that it's not really suitable for the pirates theme. However after looking at the Ship MOCs Index I noticed that Galleys was listed as one of the ship types. So I decided that I might as well add this ship over here. Feel free to delete this thread if you feel fit moderators if you think it isn't piratey enough This is a Trireme (Which means it had 3 rows of oarsmen), these were used during the 5th Century BC by Spartans during the Greco-Persian wars. Mine is based off a real replica off one (loosely) called Olympias. I think my favourite thing about this ship is the fact that very few people have replicated a Trireme in LEGO, It makes me feel unique So here it is. The ram at the front is used to smash into other ships and hopefully make a hole in the hull. Triremes usually had eyes painted on the bow. This ship has 60 Minifigs to row it, they range from Darth Vader to Father Christmas. The back section of the ship uses a viking hull, the shape was perfect for the back, though I needed to add a bit extra to the sides using a bit of sloping and SNOT in order to cover up a big gap. This is my favourite shot of the ship, probably because it's the only semi-clear one I have I hope you enjoyed seeing my slightly unconventional LEGO ship, Comments and Criticism are welcome!

Thanks! I thought that the only effective way of making a trireme's stern was using a viking hull.
-
If I get the hang of this Bricklink thing then I may get them some oars, and if I have not demolished the ship for parts by then. Thanks for the great compliment! P.S "Grumpy Sparrows" I like

I am lost for words! I have been ghosting this topic for a while, I remember your first version of the ship and I was amazed then! This just looks so accurate and the use of dark tan with light grey looks great. If TLC does make a D2C set I am going to be very disappointed when it doesn't look as stupendous as this version Just interested, are you going to give this ship some sails or not, as with the Flying Dutchman sometimes people tend not to use sails?
