exellent the two best companies from my two main hobbies have joined forces to produce lego board games. I hope to see a board game thats more about designing with lego bricks soon. but i think this particular game is a little more complex than rolling dice and moving, as german game companies tend to produce german games, which are abstract games (games that are based on a single mechanic) that have almost no luck at all. Ravensburger is the producer of the classic master labyrinth which uses an ingenious mechanic and allows the game to run fluently and almost with a sense of magic. I just could see them making a roll and move game. However that said, lego might have expected ravensburger to do something simple just so the the item would sell. I hope this license can continue and turn into a series of more typical ravensburger boardgames which you make out of lego. Who knows they might even make master labyrinth as a set, and for those of you who arent familiar with the game, this means brown, white, red and blue wizards!

so young and niave are some of you. Lego isn't going to use the old pirate hulls just because the ship is rather small, infact they might even make a new one. And the liklihood that all the pieces ship will be glow in the dark is slim. it will either be brown or blackn and probably with a few trans neon or GITD elements, but just barely enough of them to be accurate. I think we can also expect the fig to be mainly GITD but we should also have learned by now that elements like tricorns wont come out in GITD under current management because that would just be too cool, and the lego company doesnt want to blow our minds because that would violate their violence policy, or be sexually stimulated by sets because that would violate their sex policy, that is if they have one. So in conclusion I think when this set comes out, the best we can expect is the new ship hull in black and a dutchman with a GITD body and a black tricorn.

well i didnt send it ,the link was actually supposed to show the typed email that said "lego your going in the wrong direction." However i had emailed them in the past about a new pirate line. But they ignored me, which was pretty much what i expected they would do.

GHOST TOWN emerges from the darkness !!!
john cleese replied to Brick Miner's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
yes basically it would look like that, but there might also be sillouettes of pyramids for adventurers, and maybe a viking ship and Some sort of arctic theme sillouette. Still Miner you havent given me a basic price, of course im not going to speculate what it might be out loud. -

BM you didnt answer my question. And come to think of it it might have been phes who said he would do graphics work in exchange for money. Were you joking before, or are you really considering this? -

the reason i wanted to know how much it would cost for fake box art is because i intend to make that time twisters moc sometime in the near future. Of course time twisters is one of the most hated themes so it will probably cost me a fair amount (and by fair i mean unfairly high). In the design i would want silouettes of the lands that correspond with some of the themes, preferably some of the ones post-timetwisters. The moc itself wont be done for a while, but i asked you now out of curiosity. -

once again brick miner you have not only captured the lego style but also our hearts and minds with your fantastic moc, I tip my hat to you (and hey, not everybody gets that kind of honor). ive heard you mention before that you were willing to photoshop pictures for us in return for money, just out of curiosity how much would one piece of fake box art cost? -
thats because he's high.

Where you guys think the ILC is the worst set in the batch, i think its the best, nd because it has so many great parts i will definately be buying one. Ive never really been a fan of SW lego so i think this year, like most years, i will be saving up for non license themes.

It wouldn't be stealing, would it?
john cleese replied to Two-Faced Batman Fan's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
well it doesnt seem to me like he feels guilty, it seems like hes trying to justify his actions, which were immoral and trying to convince other people to agree that his actions were justified so he can go to bed with a clear consciense. In fact it seems to me like hes just bragging about how he got a bag of free bricks. If he was truly feeling guilty he would go back to ross' and tell them what he did, he wouldnt go posting it on a forum. But once again, i think most of us would do the same. in response to Xenologer: Well the thing is the clerk doesnt get to decide the price; he does not control the means of production, he is not trusted by the corporatin he works for, with the responsibility of putting prices on items, and therefore he doesnt have any control over the price of any item in that store. And If he did sell the item for that price and his employer discovered that he had intentionally sold an item for a lower price than the one selected by the store, he would probably be fired right on the spot. The reason we dont see bartering in stores like Ross' and TrU is because its not the cashiers porogative to determine the price of an item, its somebody else's (and sure you can 'try' to barter with him.). However we still do see bartering done in privately owned kiosks at the flea market, and some privately owned shops where the customer and Manager interact directly. So we still do have some bartering. -

well my freind what you have on your hands (besides blood) is an issue of ethics. You must ak your self under what circumstances, if any, is it right to steal? Well a more common example is lying. Most people agree that its only right to lie in an instance where being sincere could effect another person/s in a negative way. For instance; telling your aunt you dont like her cooking could make her go into a state of shock where all she does is mope around and drink and eat exessively, and because you're aware of her fragile psychological state you tell her the opposite for her own good. However, as for stealing, i cant think of one case where that would be alright, and i dont think your decision to steal that bag (then essentially "brag" that you got free bricks on this forum) was ethical. If you had left the bag and nobody else stole it, the customer may have returned and complained about the missing pieces and having found the misplaced bag one of the staff could have given it to him or atleast confirmed that he was telling the truth. But its too late to change what you did, instead of dwelling on the past, lets look at the possible reprucussions step by step. 1. you steal bag 2. kid makes a trip back to store concerning missing bag, company refuses to replace, hence mom wasted a bunch of gas driving to the store 3. kid calls lego company to replace bag 4. lego gives him a whole new set (you know they would...) 5. kid desides to take advantage of the lego company again and gets anoher free bag, claiming he was missing a piece from another set 6. lego does it 7. kids mom gets mad at kid and never buys him lego again 8. kid seeks reveenge on lego for being gullable 9. kid (now adult) becomes megablocks CEO 10: kid (now adult) makes mega blocks very lucrative (not sure if thats the right word) 11. Megablock buys out lego 12. No more great lego products Now look what you've done! Are you happy now? TLC doesn't exist anymore and its your fault! >:( But in all seriousness, i think most of us would do the same thing. -
if you look carefully youll see that the katanas are in fact dark green aswell. Im really hyped for this line. It looks like they put alot of thought and consideration into it and even the 2006 line however these mechas are looking alot better IMO. 2007 is really shaping up to be a good year!!! :-)

i didnt really think that TT would care if i made my own list. I just thought it Would be better if we could all participate.
-
why did you name it TT's top ten. Does this mean were not allowed to make our own? anyway here are mine: 1: you take apart your car and try to build an alternate model 2: for breakfast you buy lego sets 3. you played with lego at high school 4. For dinner you build moc's 5. you whistle the lego maniac song while waiting for the bus, which (as TT said) you think is too wide 6. you complain to the secretary of transportation that there arent enough pieces in the #178 city bus. 7. For lunch you talk on eurobricks 8. you have a seperate house just to store your lego in 9. if you go horseback riding you stand up on the horses back 10. You will only move your legs and arms back and forth, never side to side 11. you've tryed to pull your head and legs off. 12. Your freind asks you if he should get a tattoo and you say "Dont customize pieces!" 13. your afraid to go near sun light because your worried it will discolour you

i think the joke is that joe vigs in the way preventing q-bert from moving in that direction and if he moves in the other direction then the green guy climbing upm the wall will get him. Am i right? I havent played Q-bert before so im probably wrong.

Look what I just got - Report your latest Pirate LEGO acquisitions
john cleese replied to V()()D()()'s topic in LEGO Pirates
i apologize for my ingnorance phes im only 14, and i obviously dont have a masters in anything. I had heard of iron clads but i imagined that they were built around the 18th and 19th centuries. Despite that i still beleive its the hardest ship hull to make a pirate ship moc out of even harder to use than the cross bone clippers hull, which im using in an moc ship right now, called the forty theives. However lets not discuss that now, because we will be even more off topic. -

i agree with you there phes phes its just it looks like its made out of metal and ships werent made of metal in the 16th century. One could pretend it looks like painted wood like in the red beard runner or cross bone clipper however as i said the other ship hulls are much more suited for pirate ships and the 6493 ship hull is great for the set its in, and also airship mocs. But thats just an opinion. -
it wont look so cool after the mars rover accidently runs over it.

just where have those figs pack gone?????
john cleese replied to kenji's topic in General LEGO Discussion
when i was a young child i never bought two of the same set, at that time i thought it was a silly thing to do. I think most kids are the same way, rather than having 2 of those viking army sets, they will go out and buy 1 as well as 1 of the new viking catapults. Then if they still have some money left, maybe an exoforce striking venom and sentai fortress becuase they saw them in the commercial. I dont think kids generally buy alot of the same thing because they are young and dont see the possible benefits in doing so. They think variety is always better.
