  1. Sure it needs to be addressed, but no reason to make a topic about it. PM someone who could do something about it, if they feel like something should be done about it, then they can. It is not your job to address the issue. Banning is not the way to go, but neither is this topic.
  2. alright, im not reading all this. But why does it seem like we have topics like this started once a month? Can we just enjoy the hobby instead of criticizing everyone for every little thing possible?!?!?! Whether it is something about a model, or the way someone comments or the way someone posts a model as world-changing... What Does It Matter?!?! My opinion is if you want to bicker back and forth about something do it in PMs, dont flood our forums please and thank you
  3. Just a general question. Personally I take the greatest care of my pieces; no stickers, storaged in closed bins, not put in the sunlight to discolor, etc. I bring this up because I am finding that my latest Technic lot purchase has a lot of broken/disgusting parts in it. Even noticablity chewed on pieces... gross. The thing is, I am sure to only buy lots from adult owned sellers and whatnot to try and get the best quality, but I guess even the adults make a mess sometimes. What is your take Technic quality?
  4. Hey guys, Here is my official TC14 build, the swing got boring and I lost interest in it. Anyway, sorry for not taking photos as I built. I spent many hours on LDD building up a prototype, then built it this morning. I am hoping to have it nearly completed today. Hoping for another update before tonight... with better pictures :)
  5. I lost interest in my build, we will see if I decide to totally rebuild something new and a little bit more interesting to me.
  6. When I was building a massive crane, which was never completed, I ended up building this as my custom actuator. Maybe it will give you some ideas.
  7. You are correct, before I thought about it, I had the 3 axles separate in the turntables.... but that did not work at all
  8. Hey guys, I am wondering if anyone knows of a good idea to accomplish getting 3 functions through the new turntable. I have seen some of the ideas using the older turntable, but I was curious if they could get more compact using the new turntable. Thanks
  9. @BrickbyBrickTechnic I think I have another 2 stage outrigger idea built for my GSK55 in my build ideas. If I find it and think it would be usefully for you, I will post it.
  10. Wish my epic fail builds looked like this. Sure it does not look like 42084, but I would buy it as a set, maybe a different color scheme though Nice work!
  11. Have you seen sariels idea for 2 stage outriggers? It does not use either of the parts you do not have. https://goo.gl/images/fF7cp6
  12. I know how good your past models have been, I have high hopes for this one! I wouldn't doubt that you will have a more functional model than 42082 while still being comparable to the look. Im definitely following this one!!
  13. We had talked about that before. The LAs would struggle getting that heavy boom up from parallel with the ground. I feel like that will be one of the first things to be modified.
  14. What is your budget? Do you want PF and or pneumatics?
  15. I feel like this is just another set that you guys are going to go modification crazy on this set. It obviously is not a "rough terrain" crane out of the box.
  16. @tkel86 Hi and thanks for the ideas. My thought was to keep as little weight out of the swing and as low as I could get it. I did not want the rotation of the swing and the weight of the motors and such throwing the whole thing off balance. The design you showed to get the tilt of the swing is very similar to what I made, I am still trying to figure out how to implement a servo into the mix so I have a true return to center for when the ride is over, but I will figure something out eventually. As for other motors, I only planned on using one other motor for rotation and just adding a little bit of gearing from the main shaft to get different parts to rotate different directions. I hope that makes sense
  17. I think all the spinning made me think differently. That will make things much easier
  18. The way pleegwat made it sound; one turntable would be used for spinning, one for tilting. One turntable is not enough for the full motion, I will have to experiment with different methods
  19. Thanks for the comment While that would be easier, it does not give the full range of motion as the actual ride. The video below is a good example of what you are trying to explain
  20. Hey guys, I thought it was time to show some WIPs pictures before I forget. I am trying to build a fully functional wave swing with all the motion sickness included For now, I am focusing on how to get the tilting of the swing to work. I came up with a good method, but It does not have a nice "return to rest" position. As it is now, it is more of a quick stop the motion and hope you got the swing level (not ideal). I figure once the tilt is figured out, the rest should not be too bad, but I am sure that will not be the case. Here are some pictures of what I got now. Any comments or concerns are more than welcomed below :)
  21. Personally, I am trying to eyeball it, but I am having trouble visualizing the size/scale of the build.
  22. I am curious if people are using blueprints to build there ride more to scale or if you guys are just eyeballing the dimensions
  23. Because it would not be a modern technic set without them
  24. sorry for the double post, but I am wondering if Bionicle parts can be used @Jim @Milan
  25. @Erik Leppen I had to convince myself to build this one. I feel like it is going to get pretty big and I'm going to need to make a bricklink order eventually. I don't normally like buying more parts just for a contest, but we shall see.
