  1. I GOT IT!!!! video quality is terrible, i dont know why. shot from a iphone 5s
  2. http://www.youtube.c...s=1446580153820 ^^ i keep getting that
  3. Im really hoping this works. Here is the video, not the greatest, but it allows to to still be in the contest. i have posted my video on youtube, flickr, vimeo. nothing is working, how does the link get into the post as a video not a link
  4. I was organizing my bricksafe account, I'll fix it tonight, but first need to figure out uploading a video direct to my entry post
  5. 18. Grove Trailer Crane I modeled this crane after the GSK55 trailer trailer crane. The model features all the key functions of the real crane. The crane itself has 4 functions; outriggers, spinning the superstructure, raising and lowering the boom, and extending the boom. Link to the WIP topic; http://www.eurobrick...114809&hl=grove Here is a link to my bricksafe file, the video can be downloaded as a media file. https://www.bricksaf...ll-scale-/final
  6. Do videos work through bricksafe? I'm trying to quick finish my crane, btw can I post a unfinished model if I don't finish??
  7. Milan, it looks really really good!! But would have have done anything different or added anything if you had more time??
  8. The front 5 axles will be paired with their radius, the middle 2 will be straight except for crab mode, then they will steer. But the front and back 5 axles will have different angles because of gears not arm length, because then that would mess up crab steering
  9. Thanks max!! Regarding switching the gear racks I have a super simple solution. I'm using two servo motors, one for the front 6 axles another for the back 6. This way I can control each one separately with 2 channels
  10. Sooo, i have had like zero time this week to do any anything LEGO, but i did have some time in between a class yesterday to do some LDD. I tried to make a steering system, basically i would slide the axles to change the steering mode. It is way simpler than a gearbox, but i dont know if it will work.
  11. Hey guys, Im seeing a lot of great TC8 contest entries coming up of no where this week. I really hope i can get it done, but it isnt looking good. But i did forget to give a small update on the massive crane. I added drive, 1 XL motor for a pair of driven axles for a total of 3 XL motors, Im slowing figuring out a steering gearbox that is functional and compact. Here are a few pictures. (the yellow panels represent where the outriggers are and length) oh, and what do you think, regular boom or lattice???
  12. As I read through a lot of these new WIP topics, I notice a lot of great builds, but i also notice a lot people saying that wont be entering because their crane wont be done on time.....
  13. I had to double check the helicopter, but I think t looks great. It is really clean looking and still has functionality. I bet the panels are a cheaper alternative, but I'm fine with it as long as LEGO doesn't skip out of the functions
  14. I half agree with Erik. I dont know how you had the patience for such a repetitive build, but the size is impressive. And i think making it this size is really the WOW factor.
  15. Im glad I could be somewhat inspiring, haha. Nice WIP build!! I like the use of the pneumatics for a smaller build, personally i think it fits better. I also like the X outriggers, nice change from the original crane. I hope you have better success on your model than I am on mine!!
  16. the picture I posted with the axle set up is just an idea. Im going to add the XL motors (lookin at 4) As for the number of axles, it may decrease, not sure yet.
  17. I disagree I also bought 2 of them; one for the crane and another for parts. What is their not to love about it????
  18. hey guys, i worked a little on the trailer crane today, rebuild the boom and made the extension via a worm gear. The large LA is hooked up and working. I basically just to add some string and a knob on the back to the worm gear extension. Im making it a remote control crane so no cabin on the crane. The main reason for this is that the boom is way big for the scale and their is very little room for a cabin.
  19. It sounds like you have the gears swapped, just make sure all the gears are right. Your not along, a lot of people have had this problem before.
  20. I also like this model. The manual model more than the PF version. My favorite part is the pulleys Nice job
  21. true crab steering has the same angle steering for all the axles, i could not quite tell from the video.
  22. It works pretty good, i must say. I like the how the outriggers are extended seperately like a real crane. I also like the different steering modes. 1 question for ya; Is it true crab steering? Also, im a little concerned with the amount of gear crunching i hear, im not sure which function(s) it came from tho. Overall nice job
  23. I was having some trouble with a driven steering axle, so when Dave posted his axle (which was exactly what I wanted) I jumped on it and asked if I could use it. I take zero credit for this axle design, 100% his idea and it works great!! As for the friction and twisting concern, I haven't driven it around yet, when I do I'll post a video. But I hope to finish my contest entry today
