Heroica RPG - Quest #65: Breaking Down the Door
Chromeknight replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
The building is magical. Perhaps this is it's way of telling us we missed something. And clearly something to do with Krook's death. -

Perhaps the janitor has a master key? -

Thats helpful. My companions are rendered speechless by that news. Thank you for your time. Nerwen prods Dyric and points at the ceiling, indicating they should head to the penthouse. -
Sure he does. Those tabby bits inside the torso that hold everything in place. I can think of several non-broken heroes off the top of my head. And I wouldn't call becoming a villain 'transcending'.

Some thoughts on writing posts. These are some of the guidelines I try to follow. YMMV. - Avoid OoC as much as possible, and never ever post an OoC only post. (In the hall or quests) - Avoid internal monologues, give others expressed thoughts to use. - Or at least narrate facial expressions and body posture. Don't force others to be mind readers. - When in doubt, or things are unclear, more speech is better than less. To clarify, explain , expand and to give others more to use. - Read speech aloud(or in head if necessary), rewrite it to get flow right if you need - Use words for numbers rather than digits. - Use commas and run on sentences, making longer, slightly rambling sentences, 'cause, y'know, that's how people talk. - Pick a handful of stock phrases. Use them. Overuse them. - In speech, don't be afraid to use not proper speaking. In summary, Be a generous role player, give others stuff to bounce off. One of the side effects is it'll make your own character more defined and provide opportunities to grow.

Yes, it is. We have heard some different accounts of what happened. Do you know anything about the incident? -

Pardon, were you familiar with the previous owner, Mr. Krook? -

Thank you for that, and do be more careful experimenting with chromatically diffracted harmonic resonances. Nerwen speaks to Dyric. Are there more rooms on this floor or shall we go upstairs? -

In that case, give me Dyric's gem and I'll give you a kiss. -

Well, you know what they say, diamonds are a girl's best friend. Unless you have a Zirconium of course! Nerwen said, winking at the faun. -

I believe the debt is five hundred gold pieces. Today is founder's day, if that helps you account for the time. -

Nerwen removes the piece she placed and smiles, confident that this was possible, though it would require a little more thought. = = = O = = = . . . | . . . -

Nerwen takes a fragment, placing it at point H, trying to reflect only the red light into the Ruby on the wall. She also looks at the pieces to see if any reflect on both sides, or whether the reflect from one direction only. -

Nerwen looks at the pieces, trying to determine if there is a piece which splits the beam or if they needed to reflect the one beam through multiple gems to one of those mounted on the wall. She also tries the surfaces of the armour, to see what it does to the beam. -

I do not know friend Cronk, but we can try. Nerwen leads the party to the petrified faun's room. I'm away on a work conference for the next five days. I expect to have internet access, but if I don't and disappear, CM has Nerwen. (normally would have said Legonater, but he's QMing also). -

Yes thank you. Nerwen also takes the shield off the wall in the hallway, examining it to see if it would work as a reflective surface if polished. -

Nerwen puts three batteries on each side of the scale, leaving three off. Whichever side the scale indicates, she takes those three, putting the others aside. If the sides are shown as equal, she takes the three that weren't measured. With those three, she puts one on each side, leaving one off. The full battery is either indicated by the scale or it is the one left out. The full battery is identified. She realized she was moving as Xander spoke and laughed gently. Looks like we both figured it out. -

Greetings again Sash. Did everyone enjoy their meals? We found some alchemical batteries for the dumbwaiter. Also, I saw a large shiny platter here before. Can we borrow it? No worries. Didn't mean to be pushy! -

Thank you Dyric, I am glad to see you thinking about the choices that lie before you. You know that as an elf, a reaction of Galadrya and Celebryon, order and harmony are what we crave in our world. Which is why I stood against man-bat. If his path is destructive, his ends do not matter, good or bad. Remember that. You cannot defeat evil with evil means. But then not everything labeled evil is evil. Happily we have Cronk here to bash whatever evil we do find. Let us go find some, my arm aches to bash alongside Cronk. -

Nerwen watched the batman leave, her eyes cold and flat. Turning to Dyric she said quietly, I will take what is not claimed. There may be ways to distill and refine such substances.
