  1. Nerwen smiled at the excitable young Mage and took the proffered arachnid appendage from him. Arthur. Good of you to join us. I will take the spider leg though it is only useful against one type. And thank you for the consumables. Nerwen takes twogems from her satchel and offers them to Arthur I imagine you will benefit from borrowing the Sapphire and Emerald gems that I have. If you are happy to lend me the lens I will accept it, I do not imagine that with three knights and a Druid my healing powers will be needed very much.
  2. Lord Boomingham. Good to have you along. This is our guide Ahvialyn. Do mind your manners. These elves have few reasons to trust heroes or men. Please do not give them any more cause for distrust.
  3. Greetings Master Ambassador and you also Ellaria. Please, call me Nerwen. Or if you must be formal, since I am neither titled nor currently married, Miss will suffice. Nerwen paused, looking over to the city gate. It is not surprising that Lawrence is late, but Arthur seemed like the keen sort who would be early. No matter, I am sure they will be along presently. Master Ambassador. I have met very few dwarves in my time and fewer still as heroes. Have you traveled much in your years?
  4. I am. But please, call me Nerwen. I believe we helped find Shaun under Eubric together and it is a pleasure questing with you again. Remind me, where are you from?
  5. Nerwen listened to the listing of her party and nodded. A good group. Now, outside the city she was the first to arrive. Stars shine on our meeting, Ahvialyn. I am ready. Though I now have a horse of my own. She whistled and a mist sprang from the ground, condensing in the form of a powerful white horse. This is Mistmane, the form of a horse I had when younger. With that, Nerwen waited for the rest of her party to appear. Thanks for the catch on the shaman health bonus. Also, my gold should be 106, I forgot to edit after purchasing. I added the artefacts, but not the two extra remedies. I should have 3 now.
  6. To be fair, Doc's quest is starting soon. Flipz is making sure he can still go even if he's AFK over the start.
  7. It sounds like you have been sent to him for more than simply guiding him. Perhaps he has some things to show you too. Nerwen looks around. She sees Arthur and a barbarian, Dyric and De'kra, Cronk and a new dwarf. I should speak to her then sometime. But where is she?
  8. Before visiting the hall for the first time since her quest, Nerwen stops by the marketplace. Browsing Fabian's stall she sees a lovely pair of fur lined leather boots. Knowing that having good shoes meant feeling good all day, she purchased the Barbarian's boots. As she was at the counter, she saw a pretty amulet, with a horse inscribed upon it. It looked like elvish manufacture. On a whim she placed it on top of the boots. With the Amulet of the elven horse(wo)man, her shopping came to 70 gold. This left her with 196-70=106 gold. On the way out of the market, she swung by Portia's and bought 2 remedies. She now had 126-20=106 gold left.
  9. Nerwen speaks quietly to the diminutive guardian. Is that because she binds your will or strikes at the connection between you and your God? The answer to that might help us defend ourselves. Speaking up a little louder My friend Guts says many things. Not everything that he says reflects what he truly thinks. But any rogue, if they've survived enough to grow old can tell you which way the crowd is running. I heard tell there was an Ithil'quessir, a moon-elf there. And that he was killed. That is, to me, the most troubling news. Leaning back a little, Nerwen says in a brighter tone By the looks of the questboard there is trouble in R'kilf, we may end up questing together finally.
  10. Nerwen leans forward and speaks in a low urgent voice. We freed a dragon from a witch's curse. That's the second dragon I've seen in my many summers and both have been here in Eubric. There is something about this place which draws lost things to it. Nerwen shakes her head as if to clear gloomy thoughts. The world is changing. I mean, of course it changes every day, but I sense a point approaching where everything in the city shifts suddenly. Like an earthquake, but in peoples' heads rather than in the earth. Nothing will be the same after. She looks expectantly at Barty, wondering if he is attuned to the same foreboding.
  11. Nerwen smiled broadly Ma'am? No need to be so formal, Nerwen will do. Or, I think the style is 'Miss', since I am not currently married. And, as far as elves go I am young yet. And yes I know both names. I recently had an experience with some of her subjects, pixies, though possibly the less said about that the better. How fare you? Speaking to Barty she said You seem cheerful little spirit! Does your charge prosper? Does his path bend ever closer to the will of your master? And to Boomingham, I am glad my gift was enjoyed! Yes, that quest for the zeigfrieds which involved time travel. That was a strange experience.
  12. Time had passed since the foundation day ball. Nerwen had spent some of it in the temple of Sem clearing her mind and exercising. The faint whisps of hallucinations which had dogged her since imbibing the pixie dust had left. Although she had learnt that the realm of the pixies was indeed real and their messengers not to be taken lightly. The rest of the time she had spent in the library, silently. Reading on the happenings of heroica and listening to the arguments she could hear from the nearby hall. Now returning to the hall again she came upon a strange tableaux. Sorrow the animutilav hand outstretched facing a robed and masked girl with red hair reaching for a weapon. On the steps a Mage, Arthur and the doors iced shut. She frowned briefly, leaving them to their fight and walked on by, using the library door and through into the hall that way. Once inside she looked around. Seeing a couple of faces she recognised, among them the fat paladin Boomingham , she continued to the quest board. There were two open quests, but one was asking for her, almost by name, there was no need to sign up for both. And, she wondered, were there even six elven heroes left in the hall? Nerwen Calmcacil(Chromeknight) signs up for quest#77 Returning upstairs to the saloon she took two ales from the bar, the pixies had left her with a renewed taste for alcohol, she plonked one down in front of the 'Desert King' and nodded at the slight girl talking to him. Ellaria was her name she recalled. Stars shine on our meeting once again. she said to them all.
  13. Three whole battles? Argh! So much for "level complete 100%" I really loved this quest, for many reasons. Thanks WBD! From the way that the puzzles interrupted real life so I could rush to write in a solution (ninja'd twice! Once by CM, once by Posades) to the rushing upstairs and down looking for solutions that were obvious in hindsight. The quest did take quite a while and did drag a little waiting for characters to interact (across timezones), but some of that is simply the nature of forum-RPG. As for loot, I don't feel gyped, I'm in it for the character interaction anyway, but it is worth noting that some other players completed two quests in the same timeframe. I haven't run the numbers as to who'd be better off. I loved the cooking battle and thought we were going to loose it until posades had his idea. And it was well timed. If he'd had it one round later, we couldn't have done it. There wasn't much in the ghosts interaction that indicated we could (ought) fight them. As for 'justice' Crube, Nerwen would have been all for beating him down if he'd have gone for the guys upstairs. As for them, if it'd been a Wolfgang cell plotting the night's activities, you can be sure they would have left with tails between their legs. It's a shame we didn't run into a Wolfgang posse on its way to assassinate them.... Your characters were interesting and relatable, and I think that's one reason conflict was talked out rather than fought, because it was an real option. I look forward to seeing more of Spengmore and co, and, for Dyric's sake, Claire as well. Perhaps even that nice faun, I am certain Nerwen could give him a run for his money. Fellow players wise. Xander(posades). Dear Xander, quiet and dangerous. Lobbing in with the answer to a riddle, cracking a tough battle there and generally dealing stupidly huge amounts of damage calmly. It was good to continue their friendship from Dastan, and although there wasn't a lot of direct interaction between Xander and Nerwen, I see that as them just getting each other on some level rather than there being nothing to say. Cronk(CorneliusMurdock). Exactly what it says on the tin. I loved the occasional moments where it was clear there's more to Cronk than meets the eye. The comment to the gargoyle about Orc culture, the use of sarcasm to Dyric in the penthouse... Such moments are noticed! Keep 'em coming. And as discussed in R&D, Cronk is wise. It seemed like Nerwen and Cronk have similar views on a lot of things, just different ways of expressing those views. And Dyric(Legonater). I did warn you early on that Nerwen gets snarky with rogues on occasion, (especially true of young male human ones.) you rolled with it and used it to bring out some more of Dyric's personality. The conflict over what to do with Crube was a particular highlight, drawing a clear difference between Dyric's black/white morality and Nerwen's blue/orange morality. You did a good job keeping up while you were hosting too. As for Nerwen, the lesson is clear. Don't do drugs kids! Drugs are bad! Nerwen generally steers clear of buffs, (she even drinks water in the hall!) but rolling a half dozen blood rituals in one battle made it clear that a little more "stats over roleplaying" mightn't be such a bad thing. Otherwise she got to practice speaking like an U'kin, tried to set Dyric up on a date, cooked, and debated morality and vigilante justice. As well as gaining enough confidence to sport a crocodile handbag fashionably. If there wasn't already a hot elf chick harlot, she probably would have nicked Cynthia's copy of 50 shades of Bley and I do wonder if hairbelly will drop by asking to use the boat to smuggle weapons, who knows? And will Cap'n Guts mind or will Nerwen talk him round? Stay tuned!
  14. Time to give it up Legonater, Spengmore and co are being saved as recurring characters, we're not going to be able to help them 'move on' I believe we are done then. Have we fulfilled all your requirements? Are there any rents still outstanding?
  15. I should have expected it would not be that easy. Nerwen pondered some more It must be in one of the rooms then. We have been inside rooms two-oh-one, three and five and rooms three-oh-one, three and five. Does anyone remember seeing an icebox in any of those? If not, that still leaves five more rooms.
  16. Where else would an icebox be? In one of the rooms? Or down in the cellar? Nerwen asks the cyclopean chef, Sash. Is there an icebox in the inn?
  17. Nerwen shrugged. If it is the icebox it will be in the kitchen. Perhaps we ought go there first?
  18. Apologies. I thought you had given Mr.Greely the payment for room 203 rather than the letter for 201
  19. Nerwen pokes Dyric. You are also carrying the contract Cynthia Werelizard had made with Mr.Krook.
  20. If the spirit is properly banished, you might want to let those in room 205 know, they might finally achieve the peace they long for. As to our required tasks, here is a letter confirming the occupant of room 305 did indeed pay his rent before he was viciously attacked and murdered in his room by the furniture. We have dealt with said furniture, at no extra charge to you. I believe Cronk and Dyric carry the pavements from other rooms.
  21. I know you did say, Mr Greely, that promises of payment were not as acceptable as payment itself. However, I am of the firm opinion that you can trust the dragon. As to the rest of the rents, we have collect all, with only one outstanding issue. One of your rooms is being haunted by some ghosts seeking a malevolent spirit. If you have any information on that spirit, we will deal with it, freeing the ghosts and enabling you to rent that room once again. Do you know anything on that topic? Or know who might know?
  22. Be calm Master Greely, the dragon will not harm you. Speaking to the dragon she said, I imagine that you now feel much better in yourself? We kept our word and permitted you to remain whilst completing the ritual. We even aided you. Will you keep your word and tender the owed rent?
  23. I am healthy thank you Dyric, just a little... disoriented. The drug had some surprising side effects. Perhaps it is best if Cronk calls on Ennoc for healing, I will need to regain my equilibrium before Galadrya will hear me.
  24. Nerwen rushed from the room. Retching sounds could be heard from the pethouse's ensuite. When she returned she was looking pale and her eyes darted about as if expecting to catch sight of someung on the edge of her vision. Drawing a flask of water from her satchel she considered the prone form of Ecatsue. She said softly to Cronk, Should we use our healing power or would a remedy be more effective?
  25. Nerwen slinks around Dyric and across behind Xander. Gripping her magical staff in both hands at the end and laying it across her shoulder she prepares to bat the other dragonling out of the sky. Nerwen attacks the marsh dragonling from the front row with her magical staff Then if it is still alive she attacks it again
