  1. This is a real monster build, and it looks great so far! Look forward to seeing how it all comes out.
  2. There are so many builds possible with 42054 that I am curious as to why TLG didn't design a proper B-model. Then again, none of the builds thus far are within the CLAAS range. (I know, @M_longer's loader looks just like the CLAAS Torion, but it hadn't been released back in 2016)
  3. There's a lot here I'm hyped for. Roll on summer!
  4. Existing autonomous dumpers from Volvo lack cabs, so it's likely.
  5. Looking at 42081 again, I'm keen to see what the Volvo Autonomous Dumper(TM) is going to look like. There's a few curved/slanted panels in there, so I'm starting to see how a dump bed could be made. Judging from the existing models from Volvo and Komatsu, there's likely to be no cab, so it'll probably be a hopper on wheels. Sounds cool.
  6. Exactly. 42070 is a great set, it's just too expensive. Luckily the prices this time around are a bit more realistic; i.e. 42081 - around £100, with a licence, nice concept and what looks like a good number of parts.
  7. Amazing job! I like the front mudguards and the wheel sizing. Looks really authentic. And for such an unusual vehicle to boot.
  8. We've never had a forklift with an engine, so it'd be a first.
  9. Either of those is too long to wait. Like the idea of the drilling rig, though! Very original for Technic. As has been aforementioned, though, it could be a case of reconfiguring the crane. Although using the parts from the building as drillable slabs or something would be cool.
  10. Maybe the Technic design team is still tweaking the colours on the 42080. Or the Volvo's drone is still triggering the "crush, kill, destroy" mode.
  11. That other set is pretty obscure, so yes, I was right. Er. More or less. I still plan to snag 42070 at a decent price, but yes, I agree on the Volvo Autonomous; it looks like a combination of some of the best recent elements of the Technic theme, and is top of my list. And everyone loves forklifts.
  12. Maybe TLG have put some detail into the brake calipers this time.
  13. Mm-hm. The only set I can remember having them is 42029.
  14. I just might as well. Such a shame! This time of year we usually have a whole surfeit of close-ups and demonstrations. Ugh, I want more on 42081. I demand to know more about this mysterious loader!
  15. Yeah, the valve changeover action could work the same as the function switcher on 8043. I don't think 42080 includes a remote control, though.
  16. Some have said that 8416 was too big for its functions, so scaling back a model in the same mould is a good idea in my book.
  17. 42009 and 42042 only needed an L-motor to operate. Granted, 42009 was a bit underpowered, but 42082's system looks similar to '42's, and those building parts don't look too heavy. I'd say the L is standard for cranes now. Prelim box said '2 in 1' so I'd guess so. Funnily enough, 42079 doesn't.
  18. Sounds good, at least there's some complexity.
  19. @Rikus Are the wheel hubs on 42080 still DBG?
  20. It's a forklift. It has forks and it lifts. Seriously though, I am keen to see if the boom is two-stage.
  21. Maybe a forwarder. It does look like you could build one with what you get in the main model.
