Model team return petition
5150 Lego replied to Buttons's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
So what? Just cause its a big piece does not automaticly mean it is junorized. Those hood pieces work very well to the design of the set. If these pieces were available when model team wasout i'm sure the designers would have used them if they felt it would add to the detail of the design. So no. I think your wrong. -
It has good action. Emotions? Not at all. It doens't matter if their mad or happy. Its hard to make out what these guys(especaily the clones) . Humor? Corny. But thats ok. Your right, it is aimed at kids so i don't expect anything ground breaking. And evenif it wasn't,its notlike the orignal starwars humor wasall that original. Character development? Meh. Good acting? Hardly. Again, its not a bad series, but its not the ground breaking ciniema that your making it out to be. Calm down? I don't see anyone getting out of line. So what if some people are pasionate about shows they watch? I haven't seen anyone be disrespectfull, just giving their opinions. What posts have been irrelevant? Looking back everything has been related to the topic at hand.

Your kidding me right? While that might be your opinion and your intitiled to it, i think your being a bit bias towards the clone wars. While its not a bad show, it in no way compares to hereo in term of stories, character development or acting;.. And i'm not even a fan of it.

Good point. I think that will be a good one. -

Can the people that have scene this movie enlighten on the nudity? Iheard these is female and male alike. My dad called me and wants me and my girl frined to go see this with him and my mom. Now though i'm 27, i really don't feel comfortable watching nudity scenes with my parents. I quick boob shot is no big deal, but there sitting there getting it on, then i might pass watching it with my Parents.

Tyrrell P34
5150 Lego replied to Rijkvv's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Ahh, the mighty Tyrrell P34. My dad still has a picture of it going around (i believe) the Maracco GP. Outlawed due to it kicking so much megablocks! Great looking moc! Are both front axles linked toeghter, or are they free? IS there any way to control the sterring? -

Nope. No sterring on 4404land busters, but it was quite easy to incorperate into the set without hacking up the model. Orange light in the back controls the sterring function. This is one of my all time favorite sets. This is probbly one of the closes sets we've gotten to model team in terms of detail and function since model team was discontinued. -

I would love to see a strong combination of techinc and model team. Have all the functions of good techinc set, but with the details of model team. Simular to Jennifer Clarks models. I don't think i agree with that. While creator is great, most sets still don't offer the same level of detail that Model team did. That and Model team is primarly vehicle based while creator fill a wide variety of vehicles, structures, and animals. While this is great on its own, it still doesn't give us that level of detail the the original Model Team sets had. -
Very cool! I like the excavator and U haul trailer the best. I'm curious how you made the role cage for the brush truck.
-
Impressive!.. Most impressive!
-
Agreed! More pics ofthe forklift please!

Ahh, ok. Gotcha. I see what your saying. In that case i agree with you. To be honest, i'm surprised that the profesor is even taking the time to stop the lecture to answer such questions. Many profesors will make you wait till after the lecture is over to ask questions. Even then some will REQUIRE the ones that need extra help to get a tutor or some kind of extra help. edit: Ok, i have another one that has really been getting on my nerves. People that are constantly trying to correct people on what they post, and were it should be posted. Example: "Um, well this really should be moved into this thread" Or "we've already seen this, so this should be closed. Please pay more attention next time". This crap has really been rubbing me the wrong way.

Math doesn't come to everyone as easy as it comes to others. I don't think its fair to get mad at those that might need a little extra help. Well technically, University, College and "tafe"(i've never heard of this before) is school. Agreed. I also find it funny when people nit pick grammar make mistakes themselfs.

What does a digital speedo have to do with realistic driving? While your correct that it is digital, and it is like 2F2F, digital speedos are real. A car udriving under a flaming truck? Could happen. The Chevelle doing a wheele on the street? A little far fetched. That said, i don't count those two things as rulling out "non-realistic driving". If they can do drving scenes simular to Tokyo drift, and less like 2F2F, then i'll be happy. We'll have to wait and see. I came to cope after the first F&F movie that movies like this are meant to #1 entertain, #2 be real. And thats ok. A movie like this should be made to entertain. As long as they don't have 2 mile long "1/4 mile" drag races, 7 shifts to get up to speed, and an over abundant use of nitrous, then i'll be happy. This is a hollywood movie with street racing. If this was a movie with F1 racing, then that would be different. Now thats not to say that i wouldn't want a movie with more realistic driving/racing. When the original F&F came out i was knee deep in the Import Racing scene. I had a Toyota Celica that i had "tricked" out a bit, but all my upgrades were for performance. My frineds and i were uterly disgusted with the first movie cause it was so far from what actual street racing was. The movie portrayed it as nothing but neon lights, drugs, and crime. Not that i condone illeagal street racing, but that was not what it was about. Hollywood just did what they wanted to make it more appealing to the masses. This is were i can relate a little bit to the transformer G1 fans. But to be honest, i can't say i blame hollywood for not taking the "realistic" approach to the import car scene. Know one really wants to see a bunch of basicly stock looking Hondas and Toyotas run up and down the street. I get that.

Pay more attention to what people are saying... I (and it seems also vulture droid) are quite aware of American history.
-
Thats what i meant. They street race in all the movies with some kind of crime sindicate being part of the main story. Nothing really new. I just hope that the "Street racing" is more realistic like in Tokyo drift.

I just might bite the bullet and go pickup Leader class Ultra Magnus. Every time i make the trip to Target or Wallmart, he seem to just be staring down into me. I'm also thinking about picking up a few more Universe figs. I have prowl and i was quite impressed with his overall design. Inferno is probbly going to be next on my list of universe figs, along with Onslaught. Both Alt and bot modes look very good and sturdy. For movie figs, i have all the ones that were in the movie and only a select few that weren't. Starscream has very good bot mode, but the worst vehicle mode of ANY transformer i've ever seen. From the top it he looks ok, but from nearly ever other angle he's a mess. He also doesn't have much "swoop" factor, as his arms tend to become dislodged. From what i've read, most of this has been fixed for his ROTF figure. Speaking of alt forms, Incinorator has by far the best vehicle mode of any of the movie figs (if you can get over the exposed mechanics under his wings.) I love the radar dish on the top doubling as the mechanism to turn the rotors. Very cool. Unfortunutly, that mechanism is also his down fall in bot mode. Simular to Blackout with the tail section being extending all the way down the back. I do like the way the cockpit splits to form his chest. My absolulte favorite of the movie line has to be Leader class Brawl. Great detail in both alt and bot modes, and sturdy design. Your correct that he has the best tank design of any transformer. Very impressed.

I'm really not impressed with any of the animated figs. As gifts i recieved Animated Prime and Bumble bee figs. Niether could stand up on their own, and bumble Bee's paint has been flaking off since it was removed from the package. Prime alos doesn't want to stay toeghter in vehicle mode. Rear legs want to pop out and not stay locked. To be fair this was around a year ago, and many of the problems that the first wave of figures had claimed to have been fixed. That said, i would still like to pick up Animated Ultra Magnus as i really ike his alt mode, and he seems to have one of the best bot designs of all the animated figures.

I think were going to get back into the same feel that the first two movies were. This movie seems to take place maybe a year or less after judgment day and shows it in more of a "realistic" day time setting s as to just middle of the night battles as we've seen in all the flashbacks of the first 3 movies. Christan bale as John Connor... I'm not sure about that. I'm not saying that he's a bad actor, cause he isn't, but just not sure if he was the right choice for John Connor. This isn't the first time we've seen him play a lead role in a post apocaliptic setting. He did a good job in "Reign of Fire". Played a good leader role, but wasn't very "tough". That said, i guess i can't think of a better actor to play John Connor at the moment, so i guess we'll just have to see how he does. Not having "The Governator" in this one might just be the end of this movie before it started. I'm never one to pass judgment over a movie before i've seen it, so i'll defenatly be giving this a fair chance. The perviews do look good. But Arnold was one of the key factors that made this movie what it is. It will be interesting to see how it is without him being in it.
