You yourself even said it would be very similar to one that's already out. I'd like to see one that's even more modern than the current series. Have the opportunity to play soldiers from different countries battling on different parts of the world. Doesn't have to be based on any past war. Kind of like a "What if" type situations were turning points in past wars were done different and were now paying for those actions.

Great points Smithy and welcome. The one thing that really bugs me about LA, are the time needed for them to get from fully retracted, to full extension. This can take a tole on your fingers, as well as playability. I could see myself as a kid getting tired real quick of constantly twisting a knob just to get a bucket of Lego bricks in the dump truck. And while a PF motor would for the most part solve this, that's an additional $30 to an already expensive set. I've bought two already for last years excavator as well as the Telehandler. I would have been hard pressed for my parents to spend this extra money just to have models more enjoyable.

I blame this whole mess squarely on the FIA. Serves them right for all the crap they've done thorugh out the yrs. enough is enough. As for the race last weekend, through my favorte driver wasn't at the top, there were defenatly some interesting battles going on. Who would have thought you would see Hamiltion battling it out for 15th place! Oh well, he was a great sport about it and had the crowds full support! Even gave them a few donuts at the end of the race!! As for Button,.... Serves him right to place 6th. Maybe this wil put himin his place and he'll be a bit more humble about were he is.

Thanks for the spoiler tags. I won't be able to see it till next Saturday. I'm over the whole character delovpment thing. I didn't expect much in the way of character development considering there's close or around 40 bots. I think they crammed to many bots, but oh well. Every person that has seen it has said its better than the first, and much improved.

I watch. Good show. Here in the states, we get the new season a few onths after everyone else. Good, humor, and there stunts/challengesare great. To bad there not respected by the rest of the automotive world.

Just preordered my Movie tickets online. less than a week away!

You feel this movie is an abomination and an insult to anyone with a functioning brain, but yet you hold the 86' Transformers movie and Clone wars on some pedestal as having a great story, with great acting. Ya, right. While i don't consider this movie an Oscar winner, it was a good action flick. Great action, Good acting, great special effects, and a decent story to boot. I think they did a good job considering that they didn't have Arnold this time around and they didn't use the time travel plot that has been beaten to death. So sorry, i have to say that they did a great job, and last time i checked, I have a job, house, car, and am begining to start my own family. Last time i checked, that required a "brain". You need to learn that not every movie/TV show/comic needs to be an academy award winning "film" that you feel they all need/should be. Movies have, and always will be about entertainment. The sooner you accept that, and stop looking for "meaning" in everything you'll be a much happier person.

Really looking forward to this movie! So far nearly all the reviews have been really good. There were a few things i am disapointed in though. Either way, i'm going in with an open mind.

I wouldn't go as much as counting the type of engine into the exact model that TLC was trying to copy. Most Semi trucks, both American and European in design, generally use a straight 6 cyl diesel engine. I have never seen TLC Us a straight six in any of their model designs. Do to space constraints, i understand why they go with V engines instead. But the Scania you pictured is a very good example of what TLC was going after. The only real difference i see in pic you posted and 8258,is that it appears that the Scania in the picture has a flat bed and 8258 clearly has a 5Th wheel hitch for towing trailers.

People will always find something to criticize. That's just people. Its in our nature. But i have to agree that it is something Petty to complain about considering how easy it is to fix.

My thoughts exactly. Whats worse is that since its using LA's, you still need a power functions motor. Other wise you'll wear your thumbs out turning the control knob. So in order to make this model enjoyable, you'll need to spend an aditional $30 on top of the estimated $90 retail price.

In some fire department agencies/counties, fire departments use gold colored helmets. There not always Red, white or silver. But i have to say i don't agree that the rest of the equipment should match as I've never seen gold axes, shovels etc. in a fire house. Now silver would have been cool. If it adds to realism, then I'm all for it. Even if its more athstetically pleasing. When it comes to these module buildings, its all about the details. One thing that i noticed is that this is the first time we've gotten doors on both sides for the fire truck bay. Though i would have preferred a standard role up door in the rear instead of the barn style to match the front, but at least its closed off. Kudos's TLC.

HI high is the door? Is it just the hingeplate on top of the slpoe? Or is there another plate between the hinge and slope peice?

As its within my rights to disagree with other members or the staff and there inconsistency and sometimes poor moderating duties. I don't care whether or not others agree, or don't agree with me. I don't base my decisions or thoughts on what the majority think agree with, nor as a said "kiss megablocks" to score points with the staff. If i see something i don't like and i feel its a real problem then i will bring it up. Whether or not i feel I'll have others support. And whats your point of constantly bring this up? Looking back at my previous posts, i get the feeling that others feel that i am questioning the actions of the mods in the community forum cause that's were some feel i spend most of my time and that's why i come to EB. Well to clarify, that is not the case. I like most, come to this forum to find out about the latest in Lego news, MOCS and reviews of sets I'm interested in. I do, like most, consider the community section a "Bonus" as you will. But its also a little more than that. At some point, news will become stale, as will reviews and any other general LEGO related topics. That's were it is nice to be able to chit chat with other members about non Lego related topics. Again, what some might consider pointless, can give hours of discussion for others, and let them learn something new about any said individual. In this case, i was merely using the Cell Phone thread as an example since it was the most recent. There have been others in the past as well, but i won't get into that as i think I've made my concern present. I guess what I'm trying to get at in short is to just give similar threads in the future a chance to grow. If its been talked about in the past with little to no depth, or is blatantly obvious that its inappropriate, then by all means close it. But i think its only fair to give it more of a chance than 4 or 5 posts. Not only that, but i feel you should be able to voice your opinions and concerns without being labeled as being disrespectful or rude. While i know whitefang has said that policies on other forums are irrelevant to EB, this is a good idea. Its a proven method of keeping out a lot of would be spamers and doesn't encourage a lot of younger members to start inappropriate or "silly" topics. Agreed. Although personally, while i appreciate the response and explanation, i don't feel just giving an explanation makes up for it being a lack luster one. Just my opinion.

There's the problem right there. Um... No. Sorry, but i DON'T feel most here doing a good job. If i felt that way i wouldn't have made this topic. I have voiced my appreciation to those that have gone out of there way to really help others in the past. But in this case, sorry. But i don't feel this form of moderating is correct. I think its incredibly poor, and I'm not one to jump on the bandwagon just to score some brownie points. Again, i understand that not every topic is appropriate. That goes without saying. But again, when we have multiple star wars threads about the clone wars series, a thread about a beetles song, but then a mod closes a thread with the attitude of "who cares, it doesn't interest me!" that's the level of inconsistency that needs to be addressed. And this is exactly what kills me! You admit there is a problem but your attitude is "Oh well". Its clear that there are to many mods to moderate on sub section that clearly have different views. This is a recipe awaiting disaster.

Nice moc. I really like how you captured the rear of the Crown Vic. I build Police cars and have installed a few of those Federal Signal Argent light bars. There complete crap. The mirrors fade in less than a year from the sun. Did you know that Blue Amber lights towards the rear is California title 13 law? As is the steady burn red light towards the front. Does LAPD use arrow sticks in there light bars? If so then the only suggjestion i'd make is replacing the rear clear lights that areunder the center section of the light bar with amber bricks.

You see cell phones as a "simple tool", but for many, its their life line. I don't mean this as a means for the average 8 grade teeny bopper to text 300 times a day to their friends. Some use them for business, other use them just for phone calls. Its obvious that the only reason you closed it was it served no personal interest to you. Did it have a "Look at me factor"? Sure. But who cares if it did? Buy your own admittance, it could have gone into depth. I could see if it was 3 threads long of just pics of cell phones, but it was what? Like 4 post before it was closed? I don't see any logic in that. Just cause someone has a fancier phone/car/computer or whatever electronic device they want to share doesn't mean there showing off. You can easily get the same in depth discussion from a food, car, or video game topic from a cell phone.

The call of duty games are definitely some of the best FPS out there. No Doubt. My boss got me into COD modern warfare. One of my favorites. haven't played in a while though (360 has the dreaded 3 rings of death). I love the detail and graphics. Multiplayer is probably the best out of any FPS I've played. Zombie mode is one of my favorites. Good way to release some stress! What i like is the harder it gets, the more strategy you need to survive. Leading people into certain corridors, setting bombs to protect yourself... Makes for fantastic game play.

While i understand multiple of the same threads being merged, what is wrong with the love help one? I ask cause this is supposed to be an 18 and up site, so why can't threads like this be allowed as long as its kept civil and non- offensive? Like i said, i completely understand that. But deleting a topic because one thinks is "silly" is well.... Silly. If that's your line of thinking, then why even have the community/multimedia forum? Yes, this is a Lego web site, but that doesn't mean that we can't, or shouldn't be able to interact with others about other topics of interest. I love being able to look at reviews of upcoming sets, then scroll down and chat about the last F1 race, or Transformers. Um.... No. I don't. Sorry, but just cause you don't see the any depth in a said conversation doesn't mean that it couldn't turn into one. You don't care what kind of cell phone someone has, then just move on. I'm no cell phone junkie by any means, but i do enjoy learning about electronics, and yes, it can tell you something about someone. personally, i find it offensive to think just cause someone has a fancy cell phone you think all they did was "blow cash" Again, if that's your line of thinking, then you might as well get ride of the community forum altogether. Cause by your definition, every thread in there is pointless. Do you understand the difference there? I appreciate this. And how is it any more silly to ask about girl advice than it is about asking whats your favorite food? By your own admittance, you say those are threads YOU enjoy.
