    Pet Peeves

Wait, i'm confused.. Did you mean that technically the Chinease did attack Pearl Harbor, or that some stars are suns? You know, this whole Chris Brown and Rihanna thing makes me sick. He beats the crap out of her and she doesn't want to press any charges on him. Worse she took his stupid a$$ back. She's so stupid. I won't feel sorry for her when he slaps her around again.
  2. I'll by anything that sparksmy interest. Cars (well, vehicles in general) have always been a pasion, so themes that heavy focus around vehicles are the ones that i ussualy pick up. Functions are also on the top of my list. Technic sets are #1 for me. That said, i also preffer modern vehicles as aposed to "fantasy" based vehicles such as the Agents vehicles. Although the vehicles in the indie line are not modern, they are based on real vehicles, so i've grown found of a few of those sets as well.
  3. Right on Peppermint_M! When it comes to movies, entertainment has always been what i preffer. Movies have, and always should be a way to "get away from it all". Especaily a movie that is based on fiction to begin with. That said, i do believe that a movie can be "dark", but still be enjoyable and an escape from reality. By no means does that make you opinion wrong. Cause it isn't. And don't let anyone tell you other wise. Everyone has there opinions on what they think or feel makes an enjoyable movie, or "film" as some like to call them. I'm the same. I tried to get into the comics of some of my favorite childhood characters like Transformers, Batman, GI Joe etc. Recently i even picked up an original vol.1, NO 10, November 1985 issue of "Dawn of the Devastator" transformers Comic book. I got about half way through and put it down. And i kinda had to force myself to go that far. Not that i didn't find it interesting, but i'm just not a fan of reading about their adventures. Since then i have finished it, but i couldn't see myself picking up anymore.
  4. Very cool! Its about time! Thanks sinner!
  5. Alittle late, but i have some thoughts on the stabalizers as well. First, i'd agree that the end portions on the front stabalizers are manualy controlled, as evedent by the gear used as a "crank". BUt i'm not so sure about the rear. I can't see a good pic and am thinking they might automacticly go down when they reach full extension. Again, this is just speculation, but the hieght of the rear ones make me thing this is possible. I think every part has its place. While yes, studded bricks or even a combination of studless bricks could have done the job just fine, i think this is an example of where its just a bit more athsteticly pleasing. Not that i'd mind more studded bricks in techinc sets. Fully non-studded models do have there advantages. Actually, there inherate strenth disadvantage can actually serve a purpose if said model doesn't have suspention. Chassis itself is the suspention in a matter of speaking. Now this doens't really make a difference if the model is intended for display only, but if it is intended for play, or for demenstrations, it can have benifits. That said, i still preffer a fully studded frame (like in 8868) than studless as i preffer to use real suspention in my techinc mocs whenever possible.
  6. You guys should find aline and be consistant on it. Telling people one minute that opoligiy topics are frowned upon, then saying that this kind is ok, gives mixed messages and causes unneeded headaches for both staff and memebers alike.
  7. Right on! Thank you for the pics! The new truck looks like its going to have alot more functions than i thought. Glad to see that we get a V8 engine insteadof the standard V6. I'm also cool with the hook being manually controlled. I just hope that the crane does in fact have the strenth to lift things. You know this pisses me off. We get detailed pics of techinc sets, but yet a stupid starwars impulse set comes out and its front paged! Stupid! Hopfully, someone took some more pics of the rest of the techinc sets. To be honest, i wouldn't be disappointed if we didn't get that revamped farm tractor and trailer. I just can't see spending around $80 just for a trailer since most already hae the tractor from a couple years ago.
  8. Never mind, Oky Wan Kenobi preety much said what i was going to.. Actually, i thought the only set that was done poorly was the red semi. That could have been such a great set if they put a bit more thought into it.
  9. A few weeks ago i went and saw "Push" with my parents. Wow. What a horrible movie. Boring, and made no sence. I would have walked out and left, but my dad paid for the ticket, so i didn't want to be rude. At the end of the movie, he also agreed that it sucked. :P A few days ago i saw "Street Fighter, Lengend of Chun-Li". Not bad. Not very street fighter like, but had really good fighting scences.
  10. Very cool. I love the detail inside and out. I especaily like the seat and controls. Very detailed. Nice to see functions with athstetics. Great job!
  11. I hope it does have hard core racing in it. More importantly it needs to be realistic. My major gripe with the first two movies was that they were way to far fetched. The Mitsubishi Eclipse in the first movie shifting 7 times in the begining, the blant over use of nitrous in the first two films, unrealistic racing scenes. I think thats why Tokyo Driftwas the best. Realistic stunt driving (All drifting done by profesional drifters) and cars that actually represented what you could see on the street and not over done show cars. This new movie seems to have all the good things Tokyo Drift had, so hopfully it will be good. Sofar i like what i've seen in the trailers.
  12. Don't hold back man, tell us how you really feel! I think you hit it on the nail. I can picture this guy sitting in his basment watching the last 3 SW movies thoughing popcorn at the TV screaming (in comic book guy voice) "Worse movie ever!!"
  13. I agree! A new model team line would be great!
  14. Ahh, the wonderfull Deep Freeze Defender! One of the best sets lego even made;.. Period. I remember drueling over this set in the catologs in 5th grade and finnaly getting it for my birthday! This was one of my favorite sets when i was a kid,.. Ah hell, still is. I really liked the whole ice planet theme. It was the only space theme i ever collected. I think the only sets i didn't have was the Ice Station Oddessy, snow scooter, and the un-named set. The Ice Sat-V was also one of my favorites. Thank you for such a great review and bring me back to my childhood.
  15. There are other threads about movie trailers already. Anyways, we can also use this thread to discuss the past movies. As far as being "over the top", ya, i'd have to agree. All three were over the top at somepoint, but if the worst is Vin Deisel driving under a burning tranker trailer, then i can live with that. The first two movies were sofar fetched it wasn't even funny.
  16. Werd! 6 and 8 wide for life!
  17. First one was ok. Second one sucked megablocks. Third one was good. (most realistic). Now we have the 4th installment of the F&F franchise. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=737QmQl_eYo Not bad. Looks like there will be a nice variety of cars ranging from imports, American muslce, trucks and euros. Best part is the oringinal cast has returned. There's a second trailer out, but can't seem to find a decent quality one.
  18. Very cool! I'd remove the beam in the center so you could transport large material. Other than that i like it. Great collor choices!
  19. What set is that stove door from????? I know its a cabinet, but i'vennever seen that door before! That would be great for one of my projects!
  20. Yes, people did flock to the first cause of the anticipation of seeing them on the big screen for the first time (I really don't consider the 86' movie the big screen, more like an hour and a half long episode..., like the Simposons movie.) Willit do as well as the first? Don't know. History has shown us that sequels don't generaly do as well as the originals, so we'll see what happens. You do bring up a good point about more bots probbly means less Dr. Phil moments with the bots. Also remember that half the cast already got there introductions in the first movie, but one of the many complaints was there wasn't enough bot scenes in the first movie. Looks like they have addressed this. Also, one thing i don't get that others like yourself have somplained about are the "Blurry battle shots". Maybe my eyes are better than most, but i just don't see it. I had no problems distingwishing whitch bot was who during battle scenes. You crack me up JIN. You claim the new movie was "cheap, slapstick, cheap humor, cliche, but yet thats EXACTLY WHAT THE G1 SERIES WAS! It was corny, lame jokes, horrible acting. As i look back i can't believe that all the bots could just lift up in the air and fly like superman. You have a set mind of what you want to see in a TF movie, so you won't be happy intill that is exactly meet. You'll always find somthing not to like. One thing i'd have to disagree with both of you on are the majority of fans being upset with the direction of the movies. Before the first TF movie was out your correct, there was nothing but moaning and groaning about designs, story etc. After they actually saw the movie, most turned a 180 and really liked it. From what i've read on TF forums most aprove of the new designs from TF, to ROTF. The few fan boys that do decide not to go and see the movie cause its not what they invisioned, are the ones that are in the minority. Your always going to have people that are not happy. I have a friend who is a die hard Batman fan and hated The Dark Knight whitch most will agree was the best Batman film out of the bunch. But heck, your not going to please everyone. I know i've said this before, but i think the new bot designs, (toys alike) for the most part are great. Perfect? No. I like devestator, but like megs, i think it would have been better to have him more reconizable. But i bet the point is for him to look terrifing on screen. I think they nailed it.
  21. While i can apprecaite you enthusiasm for your new techinc set, was it really nesasary to include your "comic"? I imagine you included it cause you didn't get the reaction iposting it in the starwars forum that you were hoping. Either way glad to see more people getting into techinc.
  22. Very cool! Is there anything in paticular that you enjoy building the most, or is eaiser for you to build?
  23. Is a slight color variation in a mini fig head detail really that big a deal?
  24. You mean IF they become popular. The movie could bomb.
  25. I'll agree that Megs design should have been more reconizable. Not nessasarly exactly like he did in G1, but simular. Like Prime did. NO argument there. But problem is, you really don't have bay to blame for this. After people saw the movie, i remember reading the many, many threads, were after seeing him on screen, most people seemed to aprove of his design. If anything, he was probbly the most menicing looking of the decepticons. Whitch i believe is what the designers wanted. On screen i think he worked well to get the point across, but still was my least favorite of any of the bot designs. I never bought, nor cared for the cybertron alts. For me it was always about earth modes. I'm with you there. Cause it was damn good comedy thats why! Heck, i nearly pissed my pants when i saw that i was laughing so hard! Espeacaily when Prime said.. "Bumble Bee, stop lubricating the man!!". Classic! Well can you sugjest a director that is a fan that could have done better? I heard alot of complaining during the making of the first movie that they should have had a director that was a fan of TF. Even if you do find a director that was a "fan", that doesn't nessasarly mean that he'll do any better of a job. Keep in mind thatwhen you make a movie like this that will be scene world wide you need to apeal to more than just the hard core fans. To be honest, the fan base alone isn't large enough to make a movie in this scale based around on just what they want to see. personally, i think Bay was a Perfect choice. If they can have the character development you speak of, but still keep the action of bay's movies, then great. I have a feeling were going to see that in ROTF.
