  1. It is a personal preference how you consider exceptions of non-LEGO parts in your collection. Some people don't use Sbricks or 3rd party tyres at all, others are fine with glueing or modifying some pieces. It is completely up to you to decide what is acceptable for yourself. You can find used 8674 reasonably priced costing the same amount of money you would pay for just 4 wheels.
  2. Breaking the clips of 3L driving ring seem to be more "illegal" that using standard parts that actually work . And as SNIPE mentioned, that odd 1L "liftarm" can do the trick making construction in odd length.
  3. I don't get it. If you need frictionless gear switch - can't you use 2L connector with older 2L driving ring? Or am I missing something here.
  4. I like 8462 and 8428/8432 for looking unique at that time. Not sure if such design/approach would be attractive these days.
  5. I don't recognise backhoe arm with bucket and cylinder and tyre at the very bottom as LEGO parts as well.
  6. Colour side, if you wish to have larger panel availability you have just three options: black, red and white. Maybe yellow too. I would go with red, due to higher part availability and ability show the beautiful shapes, window line of E30.
  7. I cannot check right now, well, as website is unavailable at the moment. But if I remember correctly, pages for each models contain pictures in their original size just shrinked (not resized) to fit into to page layout. This might be consuming substantial amount of bandwidth. I like the detailing available with the pictures, however it would be wiser to use resized picture on a page and allow full sized picture to open on click.
  8. I'm not sure what is the reason behind buying used set if you still replace most of the used parts. My process with used sets is the following: 1. Disassemble if needed 2. Sort parts into 3 batches (pins, mid-sized parts, large-sized parts) 3. Wash each batch 4. Inventory cleaned batches/parts to check if there are parts missing or needing a replacement. 5. Retrieve missing/damaged parts from own inventory or make a wishlist on Bricklink. In case of larger parts used parts will be ordered most likely, while any connectors with axle holes have a "new" condition priority. 6. Assemble set back when no more parts missing
  9. Heh, this makes the main idea behind Mocplans useless.
  10. Can you then maybe, indirectly somehow, mention the current situation with 9L beam in Porsche?
  11. Great review as always. Is there a reason you keep pressing button on BB while operating pump?
  12. 11L on top of the front fenders, the very front under curved 3x11 panelCouldn't find 9L, but I hope there will be one.
  13. I have these instructions for what looks to be missing steps for the rest of the models. Not sure who the author is thou.
  14. I would suggest taking B-model apart and look for missing pieces in your inventory while building A-model.
  15. Leaked naming already had word "Ultimate", which came, one or another way, from TLG. So it is not something community has given. And then each person has his own level for ultimacy, which Porsche does keep up, thus the negativity.
  16. I'm not into crane trucks, but this looks amazing! The number of functions in such size was quite challenging I suspect. Will it be published on Rebrickable?
  17. The main problem with a Porsche was its "ultimacy" everyone hyped about. Would it have been a normal supercar there would've been less of discussion how ultimate it had to be. If we are speaking about supercars from TLG I think community expects TLG to release some new parts that could allow building new more realistic features. Like better offset wheels, wheel hubs with Ackerman steering option, new gear sizes and etc. Supercar from AFOL is basically a product of what you can actually achieve building with available parts to either look great, have multiple realistic functions or both.
  18. Both look quite nice. There are many details I like a lot in both models.
  19. I wouldn't be so exited about new hub as those axle holes doesn't look good at all! I was hoping they reworked the connector at made it sturdier, but from the looks it is very similar to Axle Connector with Axle Hole which crack quite easily. Like any other existing connector with axle hole. The only hope they used different plastic which wouldn't cause the cracking issue.
  20. Interestingly, "center console hosting cardan" (not sure about its scientific name :) is built using both types of 3*11 curved panels.
  21. This number is to provide you with unique content on website, not to give a number of your chassis.
  22. Fun event for sure. Like it! That Mihai's Tatra T813 crash at the first stage was epic Was it damaged too much as I didn't see it running on other stages.
