  1. THERE IS NEW VERSION UPDATE (v20150921) at the top of this topic in my first initial message...
  2. It can be done but it is not in SunFlow original code (actually msx80 added such option to it for BlueRender)
  3. You don't need to enable it anywhere as the brick seams are enabled by default. In my initial "brickseams" release I only added "normal", round and Technic bricks, so if your model has any other types then you won't see any seams yet. As I said I am adding them sequentially hoping that today evening there will be new version with added plates and slopes. Yes and no, your advice is 50% right: that syntax is OK anyway you do not need to use it for enabling brick seams as they are enabled by default so the line "brickseams on" do not need to be there + line "brickseams_adjustGap" should be used only if one is not satisfied with default values cos its number is bassically added to scale percentage of all brick type scales therefor be aware of that value (15 is really probably quite high cos on bigger brick it could make a mess - it is better practice to inform me and I can adjust such brick parameters individualy ).
  4. BTW I do not know if already anyone noticed it or if it was discussed before but from the "TLG point-of-view": what a bunch of "illegal" connections there!
  5. Oh, what a ship! It kinds of remind me that Nostromo from the 1st Alien film.
  6. Nice little thingie (as would Ringo Starr said )

  8. THERE IS NEW VERSION UPDATE (v20150918) at the top of this topic in my first initial message...
  9. So, here it is guys: I am proudly presenting my latest BR MOD "Simple Brick seams" (click the image for full resolution so you can see them much better )
  10. This question is meant to be a joke, right? LEGO project that would take to render several days nonstop (!!!) in POV-Ray would probably take 1 or 2 hours in SunFlow yet the quality is very comparable and in some (many...or even most) of the cases even better (...and I am speaking from my own experience)! P.S.: I see and understand you are new here so you could not know but anyway I on the other hand could not help myself to answer this question in a way I did - I hope you did not take offence cos it was not meant like that (if you did then sorry, my friend )
  11. Hey guys, you know what? I am so thrilled that I need to inform you immediately right before I go to sleep now: !!! SIMPLE BRICK SEAMS ARE FINALLY ON THEIR WAY !!! As it needs to be done basically for every type separately I will releasing it in some small sequences, so the first ones (most probably basic lane of brick 1x1 - 1x16) arrive probably today evening - they'll be posted on my own topic (if you did not noticed it then it;s here: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=114649)
  12. Yes, that's how it's meant to be. BTW you can see it also on one of the pictures above in the first initial message.
  13. No, no: my advice was to set higher number, like "transshadow 0.95" (lower values = more color thus objects behind the glass ar emore visible / higher values = more darkness thus objects behind the glass are less visible)
  14. I am talking about the materials from the latest BR v0.005 vs. my latest ones bublible_materials20150916 so if you used some other materials even some of mine previous ones it does not count here...maybe we just did not understand each other well
  15. Yes it is... Right: when it comes to complex renders including trans parts POV-Ray is out of the question - it would take literally several days to render (speaking from my own experience when rather small render like 1280x720 took 8+ days Nonstop /!!!/ ending in BSOD! Gee...! ) yet the result would not be that accurate when it comes to trans parts as with BR...and not even speaking about the time needed for such render (oh, I already did sppeak about it few second before ) Ah, I did not realize it..anyway you could still lower the color in trans parts shadows ("transshadow" attribute) so it is less transparent cos it is transparent too much in your render I guess. Well, that is just left over basically as it has no effect on LDD bricks: it would only affect 3D objects having UV mapping present so there is no need for that + it is "switched off" anyway (ratio is 1:0 for color only) As I said good work indeed! Actually the only change compared to latest BR v0.005 is the color of that trans dark blue (mat43) and new material called "trans" so if you did not use any of them then you cannot see any change at all...
  16. Yea, my MOD takes in some cases significantly longer cos there is lot more computation that needs to be done and as I am basically still JAVA newbie (mind you I have come from another programming language so I still learn JAVA) so maybe there is some other work around my way that for example msx80 will improve once he find time to look at it (fingers crossed!) No, not a problem of materials - it is "problem" of how reflections and shadows are actually made in SunFlow, unfortunately... Thanx - I promise I will! ONE THING: you should definitely try my newest materials with improved trans dark blue material, cos as you may seein your renders the one that is in official BR release is too light + you can also play with the "transshadow" value (see above in my initial topic) BTW very nice MOC - is it yours? It reminds me kind of #6930 (which I am proud owner of, btw )
  17. No problem... Yes it is - see my updated stuff at the top, section "Change/replace existing decor to anything you want"
  18. OK, so for anyone interested here it is: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=114649
  19. Everything is right as it should be, most probably you have not rightly setup your lighting rig cos it looks like your AA is not 1 2 (as it should be for the final render) + as I see you are using only some default settings which are not meant as Holy Grail, it should be just kick off, kind of start up settings that one needs to tweak to get better/best results... And as for your comparing of previous version render of the same model: it is not the same, in previous version it was not metallic, it was just pure shiny material as other plastic bricks, so... Actually I am just preparing to post new topic here where I will explain some TIPS&TRICKS for users.
  20. Yea, that is right and still it does not change anything form what I have said, that is that I do not think this will change the way we present our MOCs as it would apply only to some of them (although it may be to most of them) as it is not suitable for all MOCs (which it is really not), that is all.
  21. Glad to hear you like the newest update features. I don't think so: rotation works/has any sense only/mostly with smaller models, if you have some huge ones - for example like this one of mine here http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=113100 - to be still in somewhat reasonable size for watching it would be too small to see anything properly. 1. you are right: I have already solved it (I even added user option to .sc file to set up darkness/color shadow ratio!), it just is not implemented yet... Latest BR v0.005 My MOD: 2. once .obj brick support is implemented this should be very possible too...it is in BR's "ToDo" list already, so just wait. Yea, the reason is that msx80 wanted to see if there are some small bugs that can be repaired before official update to v0.005 - therefore the main link still points to v0.004
  22. BUG...I was talking about it before, reason is the way decor is "blended" into brick color (I think it was mx80 code addition when he come with a solution how to finally have our decors there which at that time was OK of course - unfortunately not now anymore, but I may be wrong ) so when you combine more shaders according to ratio the decor is less and less visible until point it is basically unvisible (if such ratio/nr of shader used occures) - src should be rewriten/updated in away that decor is actually applied AS THE LAST BLOCK OF CODE, I guess, so then whatever nr of shaders and ratios used decor would always stay "at the top layer" therefore always perfectly visible...
  23. Haha, I like this - coincidentally I just wanted to do myself U2's ZOO TV stage from 1993 finding out you have already did it many years ago - looks interesting, but still not THAT STAGE quite enough...anyway as I said good model!
