  1. Hi there, msx80 would tell you better than me as it is his code in BlueRender src that actually prepare list of all bricks allocated in .lxf. But, on the other hand, if it'd help you in any form: inside SunFlow - actual rendering engine for BR, every brick part that can have different color or decor is actually created as SEPARATE "BRICK" object (in form of "designID_nr", where designID is actual brick and nr is the brick "face"/part that is parsed/instanced/rendered, so for example with decorable brick #3039 you would have two entities, namely "3040_0" which is main brick geometry without the slope, and "3040_1" which would be just that slope part that can be decorated - the same would go for parts that can have different colors, not just for the bricks that have decor ability...such object is made just once and is simply instanciated everytime some brick of that type is used in the scene)...
  2. This was the right one, yea... Anyway, I was not talking about rotation but rather some kind of "this part can be opened and there is a small vehicle that can be connected to or disconnected from the main tower, if you fold this latch it will open a room where you can place some stuff etc." and such. You know: to go a step forward not just making some extremely interestingly looking stuff - which you already did in a superb way and I am applauding for that to you - but add something more to it than just that, so that the person "playing" with it won't get bored right after building it...simply put there some enigma, innuendo, something one can explore (in a way: "Yayks, so it can also do this and this and this...?"). Maybe this could be good reason / starting point for updated v2?
  3. Interesting concept indeed... ...but does it have any modularity or is it just one big piece that cannot do anything except moving on those treads? Cos it'd be really lost chance as there could potentially be so much of it!
  4. Yea, and it even looks now like it's a kind of magic...a miracle but still a bit innuendo. Ehm, ehm: 1975 here - a year when the most classical rock song was born ("Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody") + even the exact month when it was released I was "released" too (November)...now I am talking a bit like a robot so I quite nicely fit here.
  5. danth..."Mama, ooh-oo-oo-oooh, I don't wanna die and sometimes wish I've never been born at all...all we hear is radio ga-ga, radio gu-gu, radio ga-ga!" (I guess you know what I mean...now if I only knew where Brian puts his red guitar and where are those Roger's drums? ) - thanx a lot! You just helped me find the right word: ENIGMA - those simply enigmatic design concepts of CS from 80's (+ early 90's) is the thing that turn us on...as you said one have to think and come up with his own ideas what that thing could actually be or what that stuff is used for and what all it can do? Actually they make you use your own brain and imagination - it was not drawn for you in an Idiocracy (film) kind of way where one do not need to think. From 80's? Hmm, so I guess if you were child in those days then we could be even of the approximately same age...or you just obtained it from somewhere and you were child in late 90's instead? Anyway yea: both planes are interesting with the F-19 being the spectacular one and it seems to me they (GI Joes) simply grab it as a concept when rumors were running wild about that hypothetical plane in those days...or vice-versa.
  6. They were just hypothetical ones...kind of conspiracy theories only yet they really made it as a plastic models, anyway I had both at that time (I guess that MIG is still somewhere around here covered with several layers of dust ).
  7. Simply excellent (everytime I see some perfectly designed scene like yours I always get a need - tho just for a second only - to somewhat try to build my own in LDD, gee ) - SUPERB!!!
  8. Interesting helmet usage - kind of what I did with my Techtroners
  9. Thank you for changing the subject yourself so noone will notice my previous "not-so-ok" comment. To your question: it should be easy - try using only one quite big Spherical light (that is omit any other light including Sunsky), place it very high (Y axis), shift it a bit to sides (X and Z axes) and set its light color to some blueish-yellow or whatever moon color you consider the right "exact" one.
  10. No, no, that was probably me did not paying much attention to the fact that there is some kind of matrix in placing his hinges as the first two triangles snaps without any problem tho I rotated them so I did not realized it before I came to the 3rd one where I instead of simple rotating just swap those hinges as it was in the moment the first thing to do that strikes me, that is all.
  11. Hey, pssssst, you know what? So I had one really quick look into msx80 code (hoping he won't be angry too much, after all it is just for finding the problem - sorry Nicola, it will not happen anymore ) and I can confirm it is problem with his src where he - exactly as I thought - just grabbed the line starting with ##CHANGEDECOR and split the line "hardway" on places where space ocurres, that is his code does not paying attention to any "" being there, therefor solution is quite easy but he is the one that can make it right, he is owner of BlueRender src and the only person who's actually able to edit it and compile it for us.
  12. Well, I had absolutely no problem matching them nor symetrically placing them...it was easy task, actually much easier than I am normally doing with some of my MOCs.
  13. I made it like 1 minute after opening it...wanna send it back somewhere? EDIT: Anyway, here it is for you: http://lego.queryen....cosahedron7.lxf And, BTW, I connected all 3 pieces, not just that one you were asking for... + I repair also 4 hinges that were wrong types like the same ones being on opposite sites thus no connection would be possible (most probably a mistake from you...or maybe it was just me rotating those triangles in wrong direction and it was much easier and quicker just switch those two types than rotating it under those angles, so please update those hinges to desired types if you need so)
  14. That is really a nice one, Fonso + now I also noticed how interestingly you have solved that red chair! QUESTION: did you have on your mind that M-Tron prototype walker (actually never released) or is it just coincidence that they share the basic concept idea?
  15. THERE IS NEW DECORATION UPDATE at the top of this topic in my first initial message... @iceleft So, I just added that 1x8 tile mockup - go and grab it. As for the other two you required (1x6 tile, 2x4 tile): both already have their UV mapping layer inside LDD tho TLG actually did not included any decor for them there, so you can just use my method of "replacing existing decor"
  16. Nice modern clone... Actually the original model is one of few I am still missing in my "complete" TLG SPACE sets collection, ah!
  17. In such case many if not most of the good golden CS era sets do not respect that logic as they are mainly and simply what they are: toys with interesting fantasy designs for kids where main aim is playability, second one design and they simply did not consider real life stuff logic to be any important...or at least not that much, yet those models are legends and basically no one ever rise any question about them being illogical, you know - that being said let's close this debate stating that anyone may build anything he consider right, that is some of us may build models sticking to full hard real life logic and others - like me - just doing some interesting partly illogical toys, OK? No, I did not know that - interesting. It looks like you're "at home" with planes, right? Actually when I was in my preteen/teen years I was also big fan of planes - I used to build plastic models from Rewell (I wonder do they still exist releasing new models?) having quite big fleet of planes from all kinds of aviatic eras (WWI, WWII, modern ones...even one two hypothetical stealth planes) but I am not interested in those anymore.
  18. Yes, you're right: I have ready 2x4 tile for a long time now as I am using it quite a lot and that one can be used directly with that ##CHANGEDECOR method as it has UV mapping directly inside LDD although they did not provide any decor for it inside LDD so you can do it as you did with the 1x4 tile you sent me in a mail for the previous testing + I will make the rest for you tomorrow as I am going to sleep right now (it is 02:05 at night here, sorry)
  19. Sure, but that would only work if you are using some known standard already used setups but as soon as you invent your own design as I did you simply have to do it somehow manually and that is what I did/was talking about...
  20. Not in case of BR/SF: if you look into its src you will find that when it is parsing .sc file any SPACE in values meaning NEW VALUE, unfortunatelly...or maybe there simply really is a bug in msx80 code, I do not know cos as you are saying normally that should help/work. Yes I can and I will update it right now, thank you for the suggestion. EDIT: Hint added...
  21. @iceleftd So I finally tested it - unfortunately only Nicolla (msx80) can repair it as that is exactly the part that is part of his part of the project. It is in his BlueRender src (not in SunFlow code), so I cannot help you with it, sorry. Actually I have realized that the reason I never came across this prob is fact the me being a programmer myself I am using naming without spaces anywhere possible and when I need kind of space inbetween words or letters I am using character "_", so if you can and do not know about it (but I guess you know it too as I know you are also programmer) just change all spaces to that character (or some other to your liking).
  22. Ah, nevermind that as I actually have no use/reason for ldr import into LDD I was just currious as I thought all the years there is just that export option. But hey, you did not react to that "shovel"!
