Firstly: thank you Secondly: just like I said a few minutes ago to some other user in my other MOC topic here http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=116000 ppl you are applying too much real life logic to some rather simple silly LEGO model - it is not interpretation of any real stuff, use your fantasy and imagination, do not let your brain interfere with unimportant things just like those old TLG design masters did! So just to show you some of TLG own "nonsensical" designs that are actually absolutelly lovely, great and legendary: 6971 - why there are those two big 5x6 yellow window panes when everywhere around them is completelly opened space? 6951 - why there are those two reversed computers screen on both robot legs when even those astronauts in the vehicle not the small ship cannot operate them? etc. Simply what I am trying to say is: hey boys/girls enjoy that design itself and do not take it so seriously!

Thank you in the first place for your very nice comment, and secondly you are using too much logic for a LEGO model - do not do it cos then you always find some contradictions in it: you should aim just on the design and playability, it is not real stuff after all and I am notconsidering my MOCs as kind of interpretation of real things rather pure fantasy designs, OK?. I simply do not like when ppl thinking about LEGO builds as some real stuff that needs to stick to some hard logic. But on the other hand if you really want to know I can give you a few theoretical/possible reasons why: - in specific situation it is much more conveniet using tracks than flying cos you need some space for starting to fly like real planes need (gee, I can not remember how it is named in english, sorry: you know that road for planes that need it so they can fly up) - using flying mode is much more energy/fuel angry - astronauts having more fun actually riding thru dunes than flying over them etc.

LDD newbie alignment problem
___ replied to quilkin's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Oh c'mon, I of course know how importation works, there is no need for explanation. I was only wondering in one of my previous post here that there actually is .ldr import support, nothing else... The point is that I try to import "model" consisting of just one brick and for whatever reason nothing is imported and I do not know why when the brick in the model is like 3039 or 3040 so it is in LDd too but I will check that thing about spaces in lines, thanx. BTW as for the shovel and those alignmet I already won: I did it like 3 times in my previous MOCs (tho those ones are not amongst those I have already publicly dispalyed here) and quite conincidentally the one I am working on now has them too so just wait a few days for the pictures as I am still not happy with the state that particulat MOC is in. Anyway it is actually not that easy, if someone want I can show him how to do it but prepare for rather big pain-in-the-a** as the solution is somewhat nerves breaking -
LDD newbie alignment problem
___ replied to quilkin's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
thanx, will look at it later as right now I am doing some other stuff... BTW guys I did try to test that supposed .ldr import in LDD but regardless of brick I am trying to import absolutelly nothing happens, hm -
Yea, I got it - thanx, gonna testing right away I do not think so quite exactly cos in such case the part I am modiffying - ONLY SunFlow that is, nothing more - is not his, SF is open source code by guy called Christopher Kulla which he abandoned many years before so...Nicolla added some stuff, me added some stuff BUT it is actually not his nor mine THEREFORE I do not have to asking him + besides, as you rightly said, if there were some kind of "problem" between him and me (which there absolutelly is none as far as I am concerned) we would solved it between us and there would be none of my MODs then... Haha, OK then - thank you for your kind and supportive words. + you are right as for the slovak language: there is some saying here I heard many years ago that according to that saying our language is quite hard to learn for westerners or at least is one of those harder to learn

OK, give me their designIDs so I can actually find them in LDD inventory, I will try that! -

Oh, wow then - that is really new to me! Thanx for the clarification - I will test right away (gee why didn't I never notice that option?! Ah, silly me once again... ) -
Hi there. I need to see both your .lxf and .sc to test it - can you provide it, please (zip/rar it as one file if you may)? What? Why should he feel anything wrong at all? He has released its original SF version for free for all and logic tells me I do not have asking him for every change I made cos then there would be no reason for him releasing it in the first place I guess, there is no need for that. Besides I am communicating with him on its BR project dedicated website so he basically knows abput all of my achievement and is up to him decide if he officialy includes them in BR or not - please do not ask me doing things that are not necessary making me feel like I am doing something wrong...which I am not Or maybe I just did not understand you right (sorry my english is quite bad compared to other guys speaking flawlessly in english so sometime...ehm OK many times I simply got it wrong what ppl actually saying)? As for the link to BR or making rather one file (zip/rar): yea, actually that is thing I was thinking about latelly but just not making it yet as I am doing more things at once...but yea, most probably I will do that - anyway thanx for suggestion!

danth, my friend, if you read my post more carefully I said something like "...if he want his models resemble any of that old style era" so my statement is correct: I am not saying he cannot use SNOT technique (tho I do not like that technique at all myself), I only said he should avoid it and use original concept instead that was plates with visible studs, cos else its NEO as you rightly said - that's all.

LDD newbie alignment problem

Ehm, did I missed something or just mistake from you: I guess @quilkin is talking he is using/experimenting with LDD, not MLCAD and you are advising him to use LDRAW sphere generator and then importing it...into LDD??? Unless there is some hidden feature I do not know about that statement is wrong as there is no known option how to import LDRAW file into LDD, but of course it would work vice versa, that is make something in LDD and exporting it as .ldr file which can be then imported to any LDRAW sw - can you clarify this Superkalle, please? -
Eh, I know very well what you are talking about as I literally gone thru that some time ago (having complete TLG Space sets which basically ruined me but hey I can say I HAVE THEM ALL maybe except like 10 sets or so and all IN PRISTINE CONDITION like if they were made just yesterday tho some are like 35+ years old...)...
-
Quite interesting design indeed BUT you should avoid using that "everything-made-with-brick-instead-of-plates" technique (sorry cannot remember what is actually the AFOL slang name for that technique...?) in case you want your build resemble original subtheme of Blacktron (or any other old old style ones) - except that I really like your design + color combi is also exact, well done http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=114649 In case you actually use my method(s) using BlueRender then ask me and I will provide that Blacktron minifig decor as I have it done myself tho I am not using that decor as I do not copy any existing (sub)themes so there is no usage of that decor for me but I have no problem giving it to someone who would find it any useful

Once again: you are not only good in good but as I see also in sarcasm and I'm all for that, great!

Thanx + by "grizzly structure" you probably mean my "GrainySlopes" MOD I guess, am I right? If so, then yes: there is already this option there but it is not yet publicly available as I want more stuff being added to my next MOD version, therefor you have to wait some more. Ehm, not quite - yes and no: you have 2 options how to implement my materials so go to my topic and read it, please. In case something would be unclear for you feel free WRITING THERE and not here as this topic is primarily for mxs80 main work so let's not flood it, OK?

Yayks, man, you absolutely perfectly summarized it and I completely agree with you on this matter - I couldn't say it better myself!

I am presenting my new BR/SF achievement/MOD "Rubber Material" (click the image for FullHD version)

They are not necessary - it was already answered before (look for the answere here to knowing more about "why" if you will )

Oh guys, please: tho I would be happy like a child if I was wrong I guess there will never ever be any new CS - those designs and concepts are obsolete for TLG nevermind how much we all like it, they trying to come up with something new trying to push SPACE sets ideas further although the latest ones was - from the design point of view...they were more Earthly looking than SPACe to me, like Alien Abduction etc. - more flop than anything but still I like them too (eh, I have all SPACE sets so it speaks for itself, right? ) - do not be that naive. There may be some bits of CS stuff like the green neo CS minifig in Ideas mecha set "Exo" but I guess that's it, it would be like wanting astronauts in Space still using open fire for light instead of actual lights. It reminds me now neverending saga of waiting for your new LDD 5 version or at least some update when it is more than clear to me they do not care for LDD users a bit: yea, they will leave the sw for themselves cos once it may be useful but definitely now at this moment of time and space it is dead, those who do not see it or do not want to will hope still for new versions but they will be disappointed I am almost sure (see what kind of answers official TLG emplyees are giving out to public when questioned...in another topic in Eurobricks forum, ah). So as for me I stopped waiting for CS from official TLG or anything new about LDD, basically I do not need any new stuff there + I can avoid or have work arounds for known issues enabling me to do all I want - I myself can make some NEO CS if I am in need for it , I can very happily live with the actual state of the things even there would really never ever be any update... Just saying...
-
Yea, I like that combi too + I am not sure but I guess I noticed it even as a child 30+ years ago as we were playing and building our own stuff with LEGO so basically I only renewed my recollections.

Yes, I made it possible (besides many other useful things for BR), for more see here: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=114649 They have to - it is intentional: metallic is not shiny mirror it has blurred and deformed reflections + some types have even tiny grains in the color, and as SF isn't perfect one needs to make some compromises to make it look as much accurate as possible + it really depend on your .sc settings where also right lighting setup and distance from the model plays quite big role in overall image and color feeling, therefo I am suggesting go to the link I gave you above, read it all very carefully and you should be able doing much better renders then I guess (fingers crossed ) Ehm, I thought that it is quite understandable, expected and normal: imagine you would dig beneath the pavement and try to make a picture... This question is actually for @msx80 as he makes that part himself, but I guess you could make two things: 1. make two versions of your model where one would be rotated +/-90 degree or 2. set your model in LDD so it is facing front and then make only 4 steps in the BR GUI under Rotation, I guess it could work at least partialy.
