  1. I like him a lot! The pose is great, but most notably the expressions, which are achieved by more than just the "face", also the rest of the pose, how the head is tilted. This all matches and I know since I started building characters myself, how hard it is to achieve. Now... I almost feel wrong to complain about something, but just for sake of constructive criticism. So right below the knees, the boots start. But where are the calves? The character seems to be missing them, which is messing overall proportions a bit! Maybe some white tyres (I am sure there were small white tyres!) could be useful to cover the knee mixel joint and lengthen the leg a bit? I'd also like to notice that the baseball bat is leaning onto the character, not the other way around :D
  2. Well, the whole game is of type of a visual novel :)
  3. So undead! :D
  4. A "3d painting" inspired MOC based on Etherane's Mr Rainer's Solve-It Service. I've initially built a "sketch" of the main character Ülar, but somehow this tiny little visual novel - just about 3-4 hours long - got stuck in my mind deep enough that I thought it is worth doing something more. The pair - Heino and Ülar - didn't really get along too well, but I liked the duo and the contrast they posed. One is an extremely powerful, esteemed, telekinetic power wielding Solver, while the other one appeared in the strange world almost powerless and without any knowledge on the strange rules working there. How strange? Let's just say those guys are raincoat-living being hybrids where it is the clothing which stores their personality and possibly sentience, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
  5. How can this have zero comments... this is a criminal offense! No appreciation for figures here :D I like it, the gator piece of course is the top part of it... literally. I don't understand the hands and feet though - is the guy's skin white? Or is he wearing something?
  6. This would look lovely on an exhibition! I like the detailed description of each model. It is amazing how the same subject, in roughly the same scale, can be done in so many different ways. It kinda disproves the claim that "each new x-wing is the same!" I can recommend two more models: from dmac and fukusaku. They both have their own distinct styles and would be a nice addition to the collection!
  7. I think it is included in the V2 pack, but if not I have a tool to automatically generate it. Technically it compares two parts lists and returns diffs between both.
  8. That certainly is a valid approach! I did not have anything particular in mind, this was built to invoke feelings, not to tell a story. But feelings are associated with events one lived though and events form stories! It will be like that on my instagram page since I can't rearrange the photos. I wonder how will it end with the red one being the last picture :D
  9. The middle of these I've already posted, so I am sorry for a partial repost. For this series of MOCs I had only a very vague sense of theme I want to follow, but what exactly would be happening or how would it look was evolving almost on its own. Basically there was a string of ideas which did not always made much sense, but as long as the particular idea fit the feel I wanted to induce, it was incorporated. The very last part for example, was created because I had a part of a torso left from previous scene, and I also had one tentacle left with that bulbous growth. Then I decided the character can live a normal life after all so he got a coffee mug, headphones and a smartphone. Regardless of what we see is an actual eldritch abomination or a product of a broken mind.
  10. Naaah absolutely not. I just don't want the thing to be easy for chinese thieves and that's all. It is against their codex to do any work themselves so I don't expect them to reverse-engineer anything :D
  11. I work with collisions disabled all the time. There are so many cases where real life solution works but doesn't in studio that it is not worth the hassle really.
  12. I just aligned it manually. Sometimes you have to do that in studio. As in, switch the grid to densest type and align it until it fits.
  13. Hahahahah I totally understand... :D I gotta say that hand solution for guns is THE solution. I will shamelessly steal it one day!
  14. It really seems like the weapon was built frst and then the rest followed. I also love the solution for grip on the, well, grip. It never occured to me to attach fingers to the gun itself. So simple yet effective! How's the back looking!
  15. I did make this in studio but to be completely honest, I do not feel comfortable with sharing the "source files". I had a case when a shared .io file ended up being published in the web publicly. That said, maybe there is some particular issue I can help you with?
  16. Cute indeed! I really like this scale, minifigs are "cute" rendtion of humans, and this is kinda-sorta similar approach to the original ship. I like how it is fully playable even though it is much smaller than it should be. Or even more playable, considering how it is lighter and probably more durable. Great job!
  17. Thanks for the guide. Generally, the way to ensure they are aligned correctly is to... do nothing. But I mean it. Don't turn the gears before they are connected, and you'll be good. I guess it is tempting and I should have left a note about that.
  18. Love that interpretation! And I am quite a fan of Lovecraft's works so yeah, some of that definitely creeped in!
  19. Color explosion fits this by far the best of all these titles in my opinion. This is that kind of art which would look excellent in any museum. Who knows, maybe one day :)
  20. There is no single valid interpretation. It was built to invoke some certain feelings more than to show "a thing", and at the same time, provoke some questions. I am very deliberately not writing any descriptions, and up until now I was not even using names (which is why this line of builds has just squares in their titles: I don't want to suggest *anything* to the viewer). Technically this was a reverse build process, I had no idea how will it look in the end, I added bits and pieces till I was satisfied with the end result. It kinda doesn't even make much sense if you consider it, but I like it this way :D Thanks ^^
  21. For the price the game is absolutely worth it. And if you like it, Hello Charlotte by the same author is in somewhat similar mood (albeit less abstract), and its first chapter out of three is free. also: thanks! I love those random niche builds and they never get as much attention as "the usual" star wars stuff, but I somehow value them far more. But because of that I never know if I suck at building those or it is just a less interesting topic in general ^^
  22. What would you do if you woke up hungry in a world without hunger? A world which you don't understand, and which does not understand you? A world where you are being told that you are worthless right from the very beginning? A character from Mr Rainer's Solve-It Service. A niche game from niche author in niche genre. Fantastic stuff but you should probably start with Hello Charlotte. I rarely build game characters, but the guy was treated so rough I really felt sad for him. For a fictional game character. What do those games do with people, eh...
  23. EDIT: It seems flickr has deleted some of my photos, eh. This is the "full thread". If a moderator stumbles over this one here, please close/archive it. Thanks in advance!
  24. Looks oddly familiar at first glance... and then does not :D It is slightly bigger scale than mine, right? I wonder if engines shouldn't be 8-wide. And this should be possible with new domes available in 4x4 variant, at least if they were released in white. Would it be possible to make the cockpit curve a bit toward the front when looked from the top? I don't remember it very well but IIRC it was not just a trapezoid shape, but one with slighly curved sides, hm. Were you able to incorporate missile launcher tubes at the bottom?
  25. There are never enough quality AT-AT. I love your style, it is simple, very natural with no odd-looking connections and very smooth and clean. Sometimes you can easily tell that the creator is forcing the medium to his will, in your case it is more like a cooperation. I would perhaps try tiling some studs but... this would break the style of the MOC :)
