  1. I think they reintroduced old sets in 2002 because they were switching from studful to studless in the years 2001-2002. It took probably much time to design all the new parts and to understand and master this new system. I guess this change also had an impact on the production process (many new ref etc). So, IMO, TLG reused old sets to put all its effort in the change itself. I doubt TLG will ever release old studful sets : way to expensive to produce compared to studless. What a weird comparison.
  2. Hi everyone, I bump this thread to present you the HD instruction of the MOC : Frousmoul worked hard to produce this instruction. Trust me, it is very well executed... It is a 255 MB file. Again, the price is symbolic : 10€. But to support that kind of work offered to the community, you can give more. No need to say that it will be appreciated. :) To buy the instruction, send me a PM here, or an email at setechnic@gmail.com Then, we see how you want to pay (paypal, or bank transfert) We ask buyer to be fair and not to share this instruction. :) edit : one page, for example :
  3. For those who do not want to wait for the file to be again available, it is still possible to see the instruction on SeTechnic : http://www.setechnic.com/notice-9397-S.html edit : oops, there is a mistake... I fix that quickly. edit : Fixed for the main pics. So it's ok. The thumbs are still wrong... I will fix that during the next days.
  4. Magnets are not a problem if you own 10030.
  5. This B-model is awesome IMO. The features are IMO very innovative for an official set (rear axle, cabin, mini LA for the blade).
  6. Having 10030 make things much easier to reproduce my model. :)
  7. I do indeed. But I get all the "big" sets to do a review, precisely to explain why I think a set is good or not. :)
  8. I disassembled my 10030 to get some parts to build my Executor. When my Executor was done, I bought all the parts again to rebuilt my 10030 ASAP. So "Do I disassemble my UCS ?" I would answer "No".
  9. Got a surprise for you. Designed by Kurt Kristensen (10215, 10221)
  10. It's fine. We discussed by PM. :) But it seems he has deleted some pics. Curious.
  11. Very sorry if these pictures have already been posted. Edit by Rufus: Sorry, 'Confidential' watermarked pictures aren't allowed
  12. It seems you forgot some credits. ;)
  13. Sorry for bumping this 1 month old thread. I wrote a full review of the model : http://www.techlug.fr/review-lego-star-wars/ST10/republic-cruiser-st10-anio-2011 I think that the part called "Montage" (which means "Build") is very interesting. Ok, it is French, and I apologize for that. But still, I think the build of this model is very interesting. And you can use the translator. ;D No video yet. Too cold outside. :p
  14. I think I'm qualified to be among these five people. With all the Technic review I've written, now I can pretty easily "read" a model in order to find his strengths and weaknesses, both from technical and esthetical aspects. :)
  15. Partially disagreed. Ok, chrome is expensive. And TLG try to use few chromed parts in Lego sets (only 12 chromed parts in 10026). But the main reason why TLG did not release that ship yet is because it has a lot of curves that are more or less impossible to reproduce nicely with Lego bricks. At least, not for a playset. I'm working on a Naboo Royal Starship for some weeks now. In UCS scale, obviously.
  16. I will try to present an episode I MOC before the deadline. :)
  17. Sorry, bet I don't get your point. :-S Especially when you talk of 8, 10 and 12 lenght plate. 10030 is wider, higher. Well, the is much more room in it. So, it is much easier to attach everything on the structure. I'm glad you like it. :)
  18. Nice, and thanks for the answer. I tried to build that on LDD. And it turns out that the pin seems compressed. I guess the LBG part is not 100% accurate in LDD.
  19. Thanks for the review. :) The end of the blue pin is compressed or not ? In other words, is it or not an illegal build ? I would appreciate to have a photo of the pin into the DBG part.
  20. It does answer the question. In other words, if you want to have the right thickness, you have to make the model much bigger (longer, wider, but same height, so the proportions are ok). But a bigger model is not viable, both for an official model and a well designed MOC.
  21. Actually, the thing is that my MOC and the 10221 are rather higher than the real ship because it is not possible to build a Lego model which is as thin as the real ship (because of the structure).
  22. Hello everyone, The professional instruction for my UCS Boba Fett's Slave 1 is now complete. Frousmoul did it again. :p So the MOC was made in 2010 and is made out of about 1270 parts. The symbolic price is 10€. Nevertheless, I you want to send a premium in order to reward the hours of work, to support that kind of work for the community, or any other reason that is important to you, you can do it. To actually buy the instruction, you have to PM on Eurobricks, FlickR or youtube. Or email me directly at setechnic@gmail.com . Very simple, isn't it ? Anio
