  1. You will find my email address in the second message of that thread...
  2. Great design ! I love the mini RBR too. I would love to see how you built the inside of the ship (I always miss that on most MOC presentation on EB).
  3. The yellow one is probably my favorite model. :) I think yellow + blue from R2 makes a nice color scheme. A dark blue version (Utapau) would be nice, but there is no copper R2 printed dome available. And I highly doubt we will get one any time soon. Not to mention that a dark blue Jedi Interceptor would have to be made with an hyperdrive ring. Thank you ! I can see why you think the cockpit was the hardest part to design. But the wings are, by far, the part where I struggled the most. Especially to make them foldable with appropriate stops.
  4. Thanks ! Yeah, I put a lot of effort to optimize the model both regarding the building process and the details. Thanks. :) The core of the build is 6 stud wide, and I think it should'nt be too hard to make it more hollow to have a 4 stud wide room inside it. The problem would be to have access at the inside from the outside. I think that modifying the side panels so that they are articulated or openable would both joepardize their integrity and their details.
  5. Thank you guys. =) Yes, 4 refs had to be painted. The dome you mentionned for example. The windscreen is not ideal indeed. I spent hours trying every windscreen TLG ever produced, and concluded that this one was the best option. With side view it is pretty good. From rear view, it is too angular though. Rey might fit on the model. Didn't try though, as I don't have any buildable figure.
  6. Hi there ! Here is the latest model I designed : UCS Rey's Speeder. UCS Rey's Speeder by Anio, sur Flickr UCS Rey's Speeder by Anio, sur Flickr UCS Rey's Speeder by Anio, sur Flickr FlickR gallery : https://www.flickr.com/photos/anio-ucs/albums/72157706574879425 Brickshelf gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=576847 It is a 1,541 part MOC, and it is 40 cm long. Reproducing precisely the round shape of Rey's Speeder and having all the tiny details was not easy. I tried my best to make the building process modular : The model is design so that it can have studs on the top, on the sides, on the front, and underside. UCS Rey's Speeder by Anio, sur Flickr One of the trickiest part of the design process was having a round shape in 3 directions : width, height, and length. I also combined Technic and studfull to have strong engines at the rear. UCS Rey's Speeder by Anio, sur Flickr I am quite happy with all the scrap stuff in the cargo net. I used the strangest part that came to my mind : Technic hub, driving ring, barrels, gears, etc. And I did a UCS sticker of course. :) I hope instructions will be available in a near future. If you have any question, feel free to ask. :)
  7. The model is good looking, the functions are cool, and the whole thing is very nicely built and designed. You nailed it.
  8. 138km/h ? Where did you get that from ?
  9. It's been such a long time that I want to do the XJ6 Speeder with UCS treatment. I like your version. You might consider uploading pictures on FlickR. Not everyone uses instagram...
  10. Hell ! Oo Am I the only one who think that this new Slave 1 looks so much better than UCS Slave 1 75060 ? @_@
  11. E-mail me at setechnic@gmail.com :)
  12. Sure. But that was not my point.
  13. Those rims covers are initially Ferrari licensed parts. Sure they got used once on a Technic helicopter. But for obvious reasons, using them on a Porsche set is a different story that could not happen. For example, I have been told by someone from TLG who worked with Porsche that TLG is not entitled to use 42056 rims in any other set than 42056. Indeed, car rims are a key element of design, and manufacturers don't want their design (which, in some way, reflects their brand) to be used by any other third parties.
  14. Finally someone to point out that this reproduction of the marriage on the Lego model is trully overated and pointless. Regarding the suspensions, they may work better than 42083 (could they work worse ? O_o), but I think the way you built them is inacurate.
  15. And the back of the head ?

    TIE Phantom

Very nice model indeed. Clever build on the core of the ship and the upper wings with studs out on both sides.
  17. Hi ! I did the dark green Jedi Interceptor of Anakin Skywalker from Episode III. Very similar to the yellow and dark green versions I made some time ago. 18. Note that "UCS scale" rather means "UCS size". UCS is not a matter of scale (didn't I already say that like thousand times ?)
  19. No. I have been working on Lego models with car manufacturer. Trust me, they are very nitpicky when it comes to aesthetics. They often do totally unreasonnable requests. Sometimes focusing on stupid details. They also want their model to have as many features as possible, but they are less demanding on features that they are on aesthetics. And they absolutely do not care about stability of the model : that is TLG's problem. My point is that the functions mentionned above may either result in a not very good looking Corvette, or make little sense regarding the spirit of the model. Suspension with 0,5-1cm travel : it makes no sense for a race car that size. This car is made for race track, not rally. 2 speed gearbox ? Kinda ridiculous for one of the most famous US race car. As for open doors, I am sure they wanted the model to have it (as they did the interior), but couldn't find a proper way to do it because of the Lego panels and the look of Corvette the model has to have.
  20. Not sure a 2 speed gearbox would be appropriate for such a car. As for suspension, it is generally a rough terrain vehicle thing when it comes to small sets. Openable doors and bonnet would be in order for a model of that size. But I am pretty sure it would compromise a lot on how the model looks. I certainely agree with you that 2 functions is rather few for a model of that size. But none of the features we generally have on models of that piece count are suitable here IMO. The main reason is probably the Corvette license. It prevents the designers to add some of the classic functions you mentionned so as to focus on the look of the car.
  21. Probably a mix of age limit + budget restriction. I agree, though. It kinda sucks.
  22. The picture on the sticker kinda reminds me another UCS Royal Naboo Starship.
  23. Much sleeker design. Well done ! But you really have to go with 86500pb04 R2 piece.
  24. Is that so ? Then TLG's motto is not was it used to be.
