  1. Just tried it in 3D. As expected, I totally prefer 10240 nose. Of course, the best is always to have good looking model + accuracy. But when both are not possible, I always go for flow, clean lines and clean build before accuracy.
  2. Good design AND good build. I like it. :)
  3. Too blocky / lacks flow.
  4. Thanks guys. :) You are absolutely right. I couldn't find a way to make it sharper though. Wedge 6x2 are very good to have a nice curve and flow toward the main fuselage. But then, wedge brick 4x2 41768 doesn't give much room to make a pointed nose. I tried with slope 35464 but it didn't work.
  5. Hi guys ! Recently I completed my UCS T-70 X-Wing. And to be more specific, UCS Poe Dameron's X-Wing and UCS Resistance X-Wing. As you can see, I used 10240 to design these models. And this is why I would like to thank Kurt for designing 10240. Kurt, if you are reading... The wing design is pretty tricky, and I wouldn't have been able to complete the model without starting on such a good set as 10240. Poe Dameron's X-Wing by Anio, sur Flickr Resistance X-Wing by Anio, sur Flickr Full FlickR galleries : https://www.flickr.com/photos/anio-ucs/albums Getting the wings with perfect match was really a challenge. In the end, I am really happy with the final result. Note that each model has about 1,975 parts. I prefer the Resistance version, as I am not a big fan of Poe Dameron's X-Wing color scheme. The design is entirely modular : A few more things that I like about these models : - the half circle with bevel air intake. - the greebles on the top, in a 75181 style - the Technic parts between the wings which make plenty of details - the use of minifig epaulettes as magnetic flashback suppressor. Love it. =) Some videos if you want to see the models in flesh : A few more shots : Resistance X-Wing by Anio, sur Flickr Resistance X-Wing by Anio, sur Flickr Poe Dameron's X-Wing by Anio, sur Flickr Questions and comments are welcome. :)
  6. I have seen this one on FlickR earlier today. I like it. :) I would have like it even more with a few studs on it. Typically with 6180 parts. =) Yeah, been there. It is a fun thing, but it generally takes more work than a symetrical vehicle. I suppose the new Mustang was quite useful to have new dark blue parts, right ? Did you consider going at a bigger scale with arches 6183 and 6003 on the right side ?
  7. Well, if that Land Rover has to be green, I think that Dark Green (Lego Earth Green) would be more appropriate.
  8. I think you are dilusional and need to think again. TLG produces models that are supposed to be played by kids. So, models have to have a good playing experience. Just if you drive with the knob you are saying and steer to the left, the 12t will get off and remain in your hand...
  9. Doubt it. It is a black 20t HOG located behind the cabin. I suppose that knob wheel disengages when cabin is tilt. Cabin tilts with red lever located on the right side of the truck (and deck goes up with a DBG lifarm) Decks are lowered with https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=27938 + https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=18942
  10. Clearly, it is not. It is more something like this : https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=x169
  11. This is really a nice model. Very good looking, very nice flow all over the craft, and well engineered features. Not to mention the playability which is excellent too. You achieved a smart build by using Lego elements in a very effective way, resulting in a optimised design. The only small suggestion I would do is using 2 flexs for the front windscreen (one on the left, one on the right). I can see why you used only 1, as it make a nice line from the side view. But it looks a bit odd from other points of view. Two flexs would give a better result I think. Hope to see more MOCs from you in the future. :)
  12. Totally agreed. Some people always try to find tiny ridiculous things that may justify what they are hoping for in the future. Everytime, it leads to speculation that make very little sense.
  13. No fake : you can buy new parts and still have hue variations. haha haha haha.
  14. I've always wondered how people can achieve that... O_o It makes less than 0.08€ per part. And 0.08€ is barely the price of a plate 1x2. I did tons of Bricklink order over the last 10 years to build tons of MOCs. I have never ever been even close to 0.08€ per part.
  15. I wish TLG would sell a set whose name is longer that the title of this topic. Trust me : that would be quite a set !
  16. If you want some pics of the build, I did a review of Tantive 75244 : http://www.techlug.fr/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=11811
  17. Much to learn you still have.
  18. Sure, the set is not expensive enough, so they thought "Hey guys, what do you think if we add 500 parts just for fun ?". -__-'
  19. You will find my email address in the second message of that thread...
  20. Great design ! I love the mini RBR too. I would love to see how you built the inside of the ship (I always miss that on most MOC presentation on EB).
