  1. ok another update! The left side The right side boarding ramp The revised boarding ramp on the left side The front ramp The top with battery box access
  2. yey i win the crawler design and you win everything else!
  3. i've got one! lol are the crawlers attached as they look like they have buckled under the weight?
  4. Dunno if this is new or not but here you are. http://www.wired.com/geekdad/2011/03/geekdad-gets-the-first-look-at-legolands-new-star-wars-miniland/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+wired%2Findex+%28Wired%3A+Index+3+%28Top+Stories+2%29%29
  5. finished! but it has no control center or ramp!
  6. Excellent work good to see it will move!but does it steer ok still? Do you have everything running off of to battery boxes? still need better photo's can't make out details in the video.
  7. UCS X-wing everytime looks far nicer on display, i paid twice the origonal price for mine back in 2005 so no idea what a sealed set would cost now.
  8. it will have the front area only the rest of the space inside will be for battery boxes and pf parts, and fresh air to save weight.
  9. one side is now finished and 1/3 of the other side is done also, i have no idea what the left side should look like so i have made it up (artistic licence!) still to do is the front, top and back end plus finish the crawler assemblies. i have corrected the access hatches to curve towards the rear. Still to do is the pf lights on the front and pf powered front ramp to open and close, i have also decided to have the repulsor tubes used for sucking droids to move up and down, although i see no benefit from this as you can't suck an R2 unit up them. I will post a few pictures later.
  10. No update yet? tsk tsk!
  11. Believe me i would love to go but the costs invovled outweigh the needs hopefully next year though. As i said though i will be displaying the sat sun mon so i won't miss all the great models there.
  12. There is a small display of lego creations at Bradford University in the Student Central building on Saturday 26th March 10:30am-4pm entry is free as far as i know. I will be displaying as well as a few other members of the Brickish Association.
  13. Very nice and the improved rear end is a lot better, the only grip i have is the front, could you not build it with plates instead of the 1x2x3 75 slopes? would give a thinner profile head on. You just need a UCS Z-74 to compliment it (if only Gareth made instructions)
  14. nope no system sets yeah i will have a good selection of droids and wreckage type stuff and if i feel in the mood i may splash out on a few Jawa's
  15. that would have to be the ucs naboo starfighter!
  16. luckily i don't have a jar-jar
  17. how about it runs over a chrome 3PO?
  18. Well with one side 98% complete and the other side 20% i hooked a front crawler assembly up and turned on the power. So with only one crawler and the rest of the body just resting on the worksurface it managed to drag itself forward with 1 large pf motor, so i have no doubts that it will move with 4 motors, my steering system works aswell so alls looking good! just got to figure out how to power the front ramp and whatever else i decide to power.
  19. i can honestly say that you do not want to know! so far my version will cost me more than the AT-AT did!
  20. i was using this as my guide to the underneath: if it's good enough for the scale modelers it's good enough for me lol yes the corridor should curve towards the back but i have gone for straight i may change it but call it artistic licence. have you seen the price of 1x1 drk orange plates? i can use 1x2's obvioulsy end on to the same effect but then i may as well just directly copy yours? i may add some orange and light orange in there as well and see how that looks. i've just realised i am going to need a technic frame to hold the cockpit area up! also the whole top is gonna have to be removable for access to batteries and the like. i also see your point about the reddish brown being all different shades! stands out more with the flash but does give it the variation that the origonal has.
  21. Have you built some of it yet then?
  22. goog god i went to that lol!
  23. Corrrect brickdoctor, the treads are mounted to turntables and then 8 tooth gears, and that axle with the bevels will go through a gearbox with worm drive
  24. i've put a slope because that part is sloped i haven't built the cockpit area yet! i've put a slope because that part is sloped i haven't built the cockpit area yet!
