  1. They are 2 of the best starwars books there is they are nearly A3 in Size and a good 2" thick, full colour glossy photos lots of info. they both have protective box's, i paid almost £100GBP each for them in 2005. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/STAR-WARS-SPECIAL-COLLECTION-package-deal-/280613331104?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4155dba0a0 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Star-Wars-Chronicles-Stephen-Sansweet/dp/B000J108AC/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1294781224&sr=1-2
  2. and theres also 'The StarWars Chronicles' i've had thm both for years i'm surprised you've never seen em, loads of pictures scale refs etc!!
  3. Okies, the upper fuselage is done, having looked at it quite a bit i decided i didn't like the width of the cockpit area, so i have narrowed it by 2 studs and it looks a lot better now. My next challenge will be the sloped portion of the body to where the wings join, not an easy part to do by any means as the underneath slopes up at the same angle as the top, there are various ways of doing it but i am going to use plates top and bottom. So far i have studs facing up,down, left, right backwards and forwards i don't think there are any other ways for them to point lol! Also the 3 engines on either side are causing a problem too, i thought about 2x3 plates with a rounded end and hole. pics will follow of progress so far when i get the camera back.
  4. if your not bothered about sets how about Bricklink it has every piece you could ever need, far better value than butying the sets for parts.
  5. i would suggest buying the Prequel Chronicles book, plenty of pictures in there.
  6. i like that V wing cockpit to but as has been said it dips in the middle, so for the time bieng the rounded one will have to do. i have been working on the upper body of the carft the past few days so with a bit of luck i may have some more to show you soon.
  7. very nice you've done well young padawan, you've now gained the skills to build a UCS AT-AT lol Seriously though it's great how does the neck hold up? what does it weigh? is it posable?
  8. thats not ucs theres no sticker! rofl!!
  9. I can tile most of the wings if using plates plus the studded look will give it that pre-empire look where as the empire craft are smooth and elegant.
  10. Hmmm...... while it would be possible to build the wings the same way that the ILC LS are built it would mean a sacrifice of the colour patterns ie i would need to run technic lift arms along the length of the wing so the yellow stripes would have a white beam through them and also the red stripe down the leading edge would look ugly, building it in plates would be far easier and all the patterns would be correct. So.....whats it gonna be accuracy or studless?
  11. while it would add a nice feature i doubt it will get done as always with my mocks there will be no interior other than the parts you can see.
  12. i will be getting rid of as many studs as possible.
  13. Well heres the progress so far:
  14. Been there already the angles are too steep.
  15. Well heres my build thread really struggling with this one though so all suggestions are welcome! this is going to cause problems! i have the front built, i based it on another mocer design as it seemed the best way to capture the details, the wings are going to have to be plates as i won't be able to get the correct pattern and colours with snot, and the other major problem is the shape of the fuselage. Anyway pics in the morning as the camera battery is flat.
  16. i have uploaded large pictures of Slave-1 to my Brickshelf and Flikr accounts.
  17. 300 kbs is still pretty fast but that explains the speed they download at. links to flikr and brickshelf
  18. i'm interested to know what speed of connection you have? mine is 4mbs but i rarely get that more like 2-2.5mbs i will swap pics over to flikr so bare with me a mo.
  19. cheers for the praise! as for the pictures is everyone on broadband now or still on dial up? they load in seconds on broadband but with dial up they will never load.
  20. i think it does it is big! definately a ucs scale set.
  21. a very good buy at the sale price but the droid head is too big!
  22. The first post has new pictures if they are too big then my flikr has smaller ones.
  23. There's a pic in the thread somewhere with the wings up and landed. As for my next MOC i have hit a wall with it at the moment so it's on hold till i work out a solution. just out of interest how would you have made the central wing? a different shape?
  24. ah in that case then no i don't sorry i don't buy the system sets.
  25. theres pics here http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=44030&view=findpost&p=852384
