  1. Being a Queen fan and a Train fan, this MOC is all awesomeness for me. Well done! Supported 1571
  2. I saw your post and I grabbed my copy of 60198 and with the removal of a few parts and the addition of a few more I have two motors that travel the same direction. Yes I have to press two buttons at the same time, but I feel that's a simple solution to keeping the parts unmodified. 3. I was poking around in the Bricks & Pieces site the other day and found that the Hub #4 is available, Element 6262033 Design number 28738 Unit Price AUD $63.71 Good to see it available, but seems expensive when I can pick up the Passenger Train 60197 for as low as AUD $119 on special and get the hub, motor and controller plus a heap of other parts
  4. Has anyone worked out a way to connect two controllers too one Hub. I know it will sound silly, but I want to do it as when our RLUG does shows we let children drive the trains and its good to have a second remote to use as an emergency stop for when the children drive the train two fast.
  5. New LED lights now available https://shop.lego.com/en-AU/LEGO-Powered-Up-LED-Light-88005
  6. Not sure but it does have a low battery light function, but this looks like its for each device. Low battery by Stephen, on Flickr
  7. Being able to connect a colour sensor is fantastic, we will be able to set up a tram that travels down the end of a line, stops and then reverses back down the track to repeat over and over again. Awesome!!!!
  8. I couldn't wait for the new Power Up lights to come out so I used the Power Functions ones with a 9V monorail battery box. Looks cool. LEGO 60197 CITY Lights by Stephen, on Flickr
  9. I plugged the Boost colour sensor in the Powered Up Hub and the light came on, so that's a good start.
  10. I just finished building two sets of the train and its a great build, the new nose cone fits really well and the design of the engine, especially how the nose section attaches, is really well done and very strong construction. The use of the Earth Blue colour is great as its not a colour we usually see in many sets.
  11. Now I look at Marks photo, yes that is who I have read stuff posted by. Thanks :-)
  12. Well spotted, how is it that people have had copies for weeks and haven't noticed this. Lights by Stephen, on Flickr
  13. Yes I'm asking how PF 1.0 was designed, I'm sure I read about AFOL's being involved as consultants on the system for what it needed. Wasn't it started with the XL motor in the Emerald Night. Every time I see zephyr1934 post I have a feeling he had something to do with it. My memory ant what it used to be.
  14. I have been asking this for months. Can anyone point me to information about the Power Functions development, I'm sure I read it on Eurobricks. I have tried searching but not sure what words to use. Power Functions is too broad.
  15. I would love to see a way to set a max speed so that when we let children at a show drive our trains, they cant drive them to derail.
  16. LEGO have released the App for controlling the trains. Its called : LEGO POWERED UP
  17. Well we did see the RC train system between 9V and PF 1.0, I cant work out why they spent so much money building moulds and R&D on a system that lasted so short a time. Was it a case that they released the RC train system and them realised they made a big mistake? The configuration of the battery/controller box was very limited. We need to see the entire PU range and specs to make an informed assessment of the new system. If they had just simply updated the IR receiver and controller to BT, we would all have no issue updating. They could of added a speaker to the receiver as well, so children could make sounds come from the train. The new PU Hub is welcome in that it is a smaller footprint then a PF 1.0 battery box and receiver, so that's a good point. But critical is an adaptor cable or hub/switch, if we had that confirmed, I think we would all come on board and get excited about the new system.
  18. The same, I don't cut cables, lol. We need this Mock up Boot too PF 1.0 by Stephen, on Flickr
  19. Me too, but I'm really worried. I believe the new Battery Box/Receiver is called a Powered Up Move Hub.
  20. Only having two outputs in the new Battery Box/Receiver (is that what we call it) means that without a splitter cable or adaptor, it would be two motors or one motor and one set of lights, well lights if they bring out some new lights with the Boost connector. Maybe the lights fit into a hole in the nose cone, like the PF lights will fit inside hollow studs.
  21. The Brothers Brick have a photo of the App-Controlled Batmobile, you can see they are the Boost connectors.
  22. I welcome the addition of another train set, the use of the big driver wheels is a great use of a part that is not in many sets. The new stickers are welcome, especially the curved "Hogwarts Castle" part. What looks like Tile, Round Corner 4 x 4 Macaroni Wide in black which is a new colour. The missed opportunity to use the windows with curved corners and train window glass is a shame. It's like a version of a carton engine for an animated show, a version of a version. Ripe for MODding, buy two and build it better. Is that a new element, brick with pins for the swinging wall? a 1x2 brick with pins on the single stud side. Having no tracks is good, I don't need more curves, and the use of beams and pins for couplings, makes more sense. A different sign for "Platform 9 3/4 " is welcomed as an alternative to the old round one. The prevalent thing with this set, is its a set for kids to have a lot of play value. AFOL's need to buy two and make it a train worth running in their displays
  23. Courtesy of my fellow ambassador Francisco Frangioa from BrianzaLUG, who saw those at fair in Milano, Italy. He also said that connector is NOT compatible with Boost, but EV3. 1 Frangioa has since stated he isn't 100% sure what type of connector is used, he didn't look at it that closely.
  24. He has since said he isn't 100% sure if it was a EV3 connector or a Boost connector. So the waiting game continues
  25. As someone that exhibits a lot, I can tell you kids don't care what a train is, as long as its moving. A few may recognise the Hogwarts Express, but that's about it. They wouldn't know its a Hall that thinks its a Castle.
