  1. Thanks Graham Gidman, nice pun. WarSquirrel and Kristel, yes the water came out great, was a big job, my mum, sister, nieces and some friends helped out with it, all 13312 cheese slopes and 1x1 round plates. Lightningtiger, be careful, if your partner is into Lego as well, there is no one to say no when you want to buy that one more set, or bricklink order. Peppermint_M, thanks for the definition of Friendszerise, that's going in my sig Trisha, its OK if you don't like the Minidolls, I don't like every thing that Lego does, (ie Mindcraft). but that's OK because Lego made a world where it can be what ever you want it to be, don't like something then swap it out for what you like, or build it how you want it to look. That's the amazing thing with Lego, build what you want.
  2. Thanks "Godtshep" we used the same technic on a Monster Fighters diorama as well, just different colours. Spot on "Zblj" we got the idea stright from " Million ways to die in the West" very funny movie We also used the water technic in a "Friends" layout. Oh my, so many single studs, our poor fingers. Check out http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=102829
  3. I present to you the "Friends" city layout my wife Joanna build for our Lego show in October, she did a lot of modifications to the "Friends and creator buildings, she calls it "Friendszerising" them (is that a word) Hope you like it DSC_9395 by Technic70s, on Flickr DSC_9393 by Technic70s, on Flickr DSC_9696 by Technic70s, on Flickr https://www.flickr.c...57649423062996/
  4. Thanks "Lightningtiger", the repair scene is the new tram service that is being put in for the inhabits of the city. "Alois", the station my wife build from some instructions she purchased on the internet. The roof we couldn't get to fit right so we just sectioned it and that allowed people to see some of the interior. The station is not our design, only the tiled floor I added in. Thanks "Eurotrash" and "Kayaderosseras" the monument in the park is my design, started with the top of the monument from 60026-1 Town Square and went from there. DSC_9757 by Technic70s, on Flickr
  5. This is my city layout that I presented for the first time at Bricktober - Perth 2014. I was the first time I was able to assemble the entire layout in one place and run a train around it. Hope you enjoy. 10. I really like the spar and the modular lounge chiar, well done.
  11. Thats really good, I love it. The air bridges and the landing markings are fantastic.
  12. A big thankyou to the 2000 plus people that came to our show, it's was a great day with plenty of hands on activities. Big thankyou to all my fellow Ascot Rotary Club members that volunteered there time and effects to make the day a roaring success. Check out some of the photos here http://www.bricktober.info/bricktober-2014/
  13. For those of you lego fans in Perth Western Australia You are invited to come along to Bricktober 2014 Bricktober 2014 Flyer by Technic70s, on Flickr http://www.bricktober.info https://www.facebook.com/Bricktober.Perth
  14. Im away from my bricks at the moment, will try to take a photo later on. What happens is, if you force the last stud to connect to the stud base under your track it makes the curved section of track lift up a littel and you end up with a banked section of track, be it very small. I just dont like putting the track under that much pressure.
  15. I have been working on my layout and have noted that a switch and a curve are slightly longer than 48 studs. This has become a bit of a problem when I put three together in series and get to the end and try to attach the track to the last stud. Has any one had this problem and knows a way around it. I am building a fully ballasted track.
  16. Instantly recognisable as a GT-HO, well done! I would love to build one. Next project... XC Cobra would be my suggestion
  17. We where in New York in 2010 and the Toys R Us store in Times Square had a good lot of big Lego models of NY buildings. The Lego store at the Rockefeller centre was good as well with a cool "Lego" sign made from MF
  18. Here's my version inspired by 3180 with the stickers from 60016 Complete with airbag suspension
  19. Thanks for the feed back. I have tiled the roof, I think it looks better, just need to BL a plate - light bright green plate 2x6 to replace the white one under the 2nd set of hazard lights. The first MOD idea was to build it only using the parts in two sets, no extras from the parts bins.
  20. I present to you my MOD of the 4432 Garbage Truck, we call them Rubbish Trucks in Austrilia. I used two sets to extent the body and added a second set of wheels at the rear for extra heavy duty rubbish collection. More images at my Flicker http://www.flickr.co...tos/technic70s/
  21. This is my version using two sets of 60016 and some extra bits Not sure if the Black or Light Bley is better for the undercarrage. More images on my flicker http://www.flickr.co...tos/technic70s/
  22. Here is my version of the logging truck, I did mine before seeing yours matt_in_ottawa. I too used the bigger wheels and the mud guards to suit. I used three sets and some extra bits from my stock. I also added a ladder to the picker and a bull bar on the front. I like the idea of the train carriages, will add that to my list of projects. More images at Flickr https://www.flickr.c...tos/technic70s/
  23. Look out for Bricktober 2014 in WA
  24. What a good idea of using turn tables, I have some brick built roads with a curved tram line inbeded in them and have had problems getting the tracks to stay attached to the base plates. will give it a go when I'm next near my Lego. I based mine on the PennLug Standard after seeing it in BrickJournal #12
