If you enter the clubcode you get the instructions, but that doesn't entirely do it justice. I don't know if anybody has the scans of the magazine up yet.
-
Oh hay, the character bios on HF.com are animated now. Is that new? I haven't seen it yet.
-
Clubcode is SWORD.

In the club, dawg. The Lego Club

Pretty sure that's just the lighting, but I could be wrong. Also, the HF guidebook has a few pages up for preview on Amazon.com. Not much there, but it'll be a good book; gives some more insight into Vapor, for instance, which is nice since he fell by the wayside back in the day. (Totally seems like Greg read HS01 for some of the stuff in the book... not that I would blame him =D. I have a lot of stuff to keep up on, though... since it's just me over there.)

Yup, just downloaded the PDF. Looks... slightly more ridiculous than in the picture, but ah well.

No new HF content in the latest LEGO mag (booo) but there was this cool thing advertising a combo model with Furno XL and CHI Laval, because... well... I'm not really sure yet.

The site in general is pretty poorly coded this year. They have a lot of background animations going on, and coupled with slidescrolling and the timeline feature, it takes a bit for each and every page to load because they have to load EVERYTHING at once, essentially.

I'm less of a fan of Bruizer because the rock swinging arm, while a neat function, is horribly limiting in both play and pose, unlike the other functions of the year, Dragon Bolt and Jet Rocka's wings. I was pleasantly surprised with Surge; the wings definitely set off the whole appearance, and his color scheme, while seemingly chaotic, actually comes together quite nicely. His weapon is still a little bit ridiculous, as it was on Pyrox, but it fits his aesthetic, and the recolored lightning/flame bits are nothing to sneeze at. Overall, I would definitely recommend Surge over Bruizer, whether for playing or for posing. I've heard good things about Stormer too, but I couldn't tell you personally. Evo, somewhat per usual, is the sleeper hit of the wave; completely unassuming, but with a simple, extraordinarily effective design, and a very cool weapon. I can heartily recommend him for purchase.

Finally got my hands on Mirror World. Good book; shame there won't be any more. Should hopefully get the rest in sometime soon, and the guide book as well.
-
Haha, so the US site extended the black brain promotion AGAIN until the end of September, officially. Basically they're just going to go until they run out of stock.
-
Touché. So I got Surge and Evo today. Both are awesome, though Evo is a bit awkward with not knowing where to put his weapons. I just sheathed his trident and gave him one of the accessory pack blades. Speaking of those, I now have three... I don't really know what to do with the third. Got the same problem people appear to be having with Surge's printing, but I think it gives him a nice, baleful look. Color distribution is also pretty neat, surprisingly. All in all, two good purchases. Don't have Stormer and Frost Beast, but I think I can do without them.

Waist articulations is overrated, honestly, though this would probably be the best way to go about it.

Just a building event in Legoland Windsor. I was kidding about the crossover part, they just used the toys in conjunction for the image, which shows that hating one or the other is dumber than a sack of rocks.
-
Nope, real. Promotional image used to advertise an event held in Legoland Windsor two weeks ago. Link.

BIONICLE and Hero Factory crossover confirmed omgzsamezies No but seriously I like how they actually included them in the same image. Suck it, Hero Factory haters.

Some very cool creations, and the prototype pieces definitely help set them all off. Personally, I think a lot of the custom painting was unnecessary; it might just be the photography, but a black Hau Nuva would have worked just fine for Heuani, and Grokk's face scar/tattoo could have been done without, though I love the idea of the gold Piraka tooth. The construction is great on all of them, and it's nice to see some Hero Factory parts in there as well; I'd love to see what else you could do with the cladding system.
-
Woah, a keychain and a poster? Neat! Can we see some pictures? What store did you get them from?
-
I'd love to see what people can do if they could focus more on introducing new cladding and bones as opposed to weapons, but that's just me.

Very cool. We've been seeing the same bone pieces for a while now, so I'm hoping LEGO introduces some new ones like these at some point. These definitely resemble the old BIONICLE pieces more (at least in terms of structure), so that would be nice to see.

I'd love a full on constraction gator, or wolf, but I don't think animals sell as well as humanoids. But who knows, maybe LEGO has bought themselves enough market goodwill to sell it properly.
-
Maybe it was just omitted from the list, or maybe not. I like the idea (I don't know how it ties into the Chima story, but I can imagine), but repeating the same animals is a little uninspired. Hopefully we get less humanoid designs, and not just a rehash of the previous constraction sets.

Congrats to all the winners! Certainly a fun month.
-
Australian Nickelodeon site for HF Kinda neat, all things considered. We'd seen the information before in a LEGO mag a few months, but it's fun to see it in website form.

The topic title said 44012, so that would be the Brain Attack incarnation. I think he looks pretty neat; I haven't bought him yet, but I like how retains a lot of his old Breakout look, but still manages to add in a neat theme. The choice of a harpoon as his weapon is a little weird, but it's a pretty cool weapon anyway, so that makes up for it.
