  1. Good idea! Now, is this another Easter Egg (say, a callback to Unity Duty Destiny) or a hint at the next year, with the Uniters? Or a little of both, the way we got reference to a Mask of Time during the year, and the Vahi is a solid reference to that.
  2. I can see a "booster pack" being any number of things, really, but damn if mask packs wouldn't be fun.
  3. I think he meant Ninjago, but I honestly wouldn't be too surprised if BIONICLE generated a few calls; now that we have the reboot, it's fun to see where people actually entered the series, and there's been a fair few folks who entered in, say, 2007 or 2008; a scant few years before the line was actually canceled, to put it in perspective.
  4. I think that's just a fan translation, because they had the digital version. However, the digital version is also up in English! So we can read for it ourselves.
  5. I'm somewhat done with the Vorox references at this point, but good episode. I like that not everything gets concluded in one go, which it easily could have.
  6. Because if these are part of the winter wave, that's a way bigger than expected line, which is generally unlikely. Much more likely that the release size and makeup is the same as 2015. Ekimu being a titan is mostly just wishful thinking; assuming the sizes are the same as this year, he'd be $15. Umurak's placement (and the fact that he's a repeated character) make it more likely that he's a titan of some kind (although I'm thinking he's packaged with a beast rather than a full titan, but we'll see). As for the beasts being fusions, just some fun speculation. The names sound like they could be elemental combinations, and we've seen those sorts of combinations specifically in G1.
  7. Since they're trying to emulate Mata Nui moreso than Metru Nui, I think it's more just a generic "alien world" trope that they're employing, rather than any specific nod to the previous gen. But who knows, maybe we'll actually get to visit one of the moons in a future year... that could be really fun. Facebook can be annoying to get the hi-res versions from, but I uploaded it to BS01 at any rate =P.
  8. I mean, the timing would have made sense; Europe got the Hero pack a month before the US did, so I could see Russia getting it two months early. But the European calendar doesn't seem to have any mention of it either, so who knows at this point. Quite possibly December, for the holiday season (of course, I had the same hope for the IfB creature too... *sniff*)
  9. So the October shop calendar is out, and no mention of the golden skull mask. I doubt it'll remain a Russian exclusive in any way, but I'll agree it seems like a missed Halloween opportunity.
  10. More names? Yeesh. LEGO needs to step up their game for URL guessing. They already do a decent enough job for their theme pages.
  11. This was more or less how I felt. Granted given the limited runtime of the episodes a clip show can feel a bit wasted, but in terms of the plot it was a helpful refresher. The overall structure and release makes it easy to forget what the overarching goal is (in this case, one they didn't even get until six or seven episodes in anyway!).
  12. I guess it remains to be seen if the YouTube channel updates, but the previous ones were made available on the website the day after they were discovered in the urls, which was twice on a Friday. So either they made a manual change twice in a row, or that was the original publish time and they've decided to change that for whatever reason.
  13. They seem to have dropped it for the summer ones, or else I'm just blind. Speaking of, sucks that they're no longer weekly, I thought we had a good thing going...
  14. Hahaha what even is that thing I love it though. Hopefully it's not fake, them dark red bones would be swell.
  15. I only have one of each so far, which is fine with me. If I have to get a double at some point (for the gold mask), I'll either do Scorpio (so he can wear a normal silver mask while my main one wears the trans neon one) or MMvsSG, so SG can wear the golden mask and I can have a spare Mask of Creation.
  16. Not yet. General hopefulness pegs it as an October GWP because Halloween or something. At the very least it's not September, so we'll find out whether or not it's October in the next few days.
  17. To a certain extent (and up until the later years, you could definitely tell what was side story material and what was "main" without as much cross-pollination). But the books, especially the ones from after they stopped doing movies, were crucial to understanding the plot; while Karzahni, for instance, may have been negligible as a side-character, that whole plot was necessary to figure out how the Inika got their masks, got their transportation, and figured out where the heck they were going. Takanuva's dimensional escapades, to use another example, weren't directly related to what was going on (which is why they were primarily relegated to bonus supplementary material), but the fact that Brutaka and Helryx had sent him was a huge factor. The Toa Nuva getting to Artakha might have been a brief epilogue, but it justifies why the characters are the way they are going into 2008. Regardless of the serials or how you read everything, the books were very much required reading (which, as mentioned, wasn't necessarily helpful). Too little too late, really. Franchise fatigue was past the point of no return by then. Certainly they tried to soft-reboot the whole thing (lord knows why, really, since they very pointedly tied the latter half of the story back in) but the damage had been done.
  18. And now I'm sad. If you don't want to read the books, we won't get any more of them. Seems pretty self-defeating. To a certain extent, but for a time they were basically the only actual story medium (aside from the comics, which is why you saw a lot of crossover between the two anyway), or at least the only ones where we'd see character interplay and not just plot points. People were expected to read them, but that expectation proved to be part of G1's undoing.
  19. I prefer this and then subsequent novels (and other material) getting more breathing room to tell original stories. Rather than padding events we've already seen with material that would inherently be pointless, we've cleared the introductory hurdle and can look forward to fresh tales.
  20. I keep forgetting to order the book, maybe I'll do that. Gotta help sales and all.
  21. At least internally, LEGO uses "1HY" and "2HY" (1st and 2nd Halves of the Year). But it's a somewhat impersonal classification (nobody wants to be about dry and boring facts all the time :U), so I see why fandoms gravitate towards summer and winter. Same overall meaning. I can only imagine they have years (decades, really) of sales data that supports the decision. And you do occasionally get breaks in the pattern, either based on geographic areas or just however focus testing and market projections for the year panned out.
  22. Mazeka, easy. Zamor turret, guys. Spinning Zamor turret.
  23. Better than nothing at all, which was the more likely alternative. I think the Nuva not looking like their old selves was probably the most damning factor of 2008, and the overly simplified Av-Matoran, but I really liked the year. All of the titans were on-point, the designs were fresh, and it had giant awesome vehicles.
  24. Probably not (and obviously the bit about the blades being fused to his hands is total bunk) but still, it's the only place we've seen the name "Kulta", so =P
  25. Great episode; lots of action, and some key story points revealed. Kinda funny that Skull Slicer, of all people, can remove his own Skull Spider mask since that's what's controlling him =P.
