Hey all! I don't build Pirate stuff often, but I am a fan of the theme. I am hoping to build something cool for my entry into the PTV contest (not quite sure yet if it's going to be Large or Small). I was hoping that some of you more regular Pirate builders would be able to direct me to some source pictures of what the architecture in Caribbean towns during the Age of sail would have looked like. Atthis point anything would be appreciated, from pictures of Spanish monestaries, and seaside castles, to pictures of villages or reenactments of the day to day life. Heck, even technical pictures of the architecture styles of the time would be great! Maybe even key phrases or place names to google! Thanks a bunch, mates! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

This is gorgeous! love the shaping! (also, it's a Cat B, I think!) Yeah I fully agree with that. I'd say keep the light grey there, but make the dark grey white, and the dark red parts you can do in bright red and green. Hope that helps. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

I did consider some of the more serious atrocities when I first heard of the challenge, but I personally don't feel comfortable portraying them properly. So, as far as rules go (Dr. Long would be a huge stickler on this! ) I believe Aliens are not able to join corporations. I'll let Bob or another mod weigh in on that. there's always the option of being an "Alien builder" In regards to third party parts, they are allowed for sigfigs, as far as I'm aware, so no worries there, just don't go too overboard and give them to every character you show! In regards to the format and planet, if you Intend to be a member of M.A.N.T.I.S, then you must place your build within one "move" of a M.A.N.T.I.S dominated planet (map here: http://bakahomepage.com/EB/AG/map ) Proper title format is [M-Planet Number] ex: [M-D04] If you intend to build as an Alien, you may place this on any planet (other than homeworlds), but particularly one with Octan domination points. An Alien build will remove domination points, as opposed to gaining them for a Corporation. Proper format is [A-planet number] ex: [A-D04] Also you could make this a "freebuild" which is essentially whatever and wherever you want it to be. It neither gains nor detracts points.
