Peace and quiet at last in the 1st Branch Executive Lounge. (A follow up to Pombe's build) Finish the night's paperwork Off to bed unedited edit I actually really enjoyed building this. After my first, way too ambitious, plan fell apart (literally) I grabbed those big slope pieces that I'd found, and stuck them together and fell in love with their look, and this grew from that. It kinda has a star wars feel, in my opinion, which is fine by me. So here we have a mellow late night moc mirroring my sentiments at the time. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Oooooh! This looks... fun! I have a great idea for an entry... but in my mind it looks like a 32-32! Too big for the small category and too small to really compete in the large category! I'll have to down scale it to fit it into a category I can be competitive in. No limits on how "fantastical" this build can be, right? And the atrocities can be committed by anyone, right? Thanks! Glad to see my little details got noticed! I modeled the layout after my very first dorm room. Coincidentally, my first roommate was a huge stoner. I feel like every college student owns one of those flags, or has lived with someone who has owned one. And for-sure that bed's not comfortable. Bob's is a bit taller than would be expected from just adding sheets, because Bob put a mattress pad or two over top of it! (that was my actual thought process. ) I can't wait! Even when I don't comment on your builds (it takes me forever to comment on even posts I really like. ), but I follow all of yours very closely! Your story is so fun, and your character is great! Look forward to seeing her backgrounds! You must wait because pacing! I've been trying to slowly set things up for future events! Yeah, I love throwing Kodan in where you least expect it! You'll definitely see more of Dr. Long's history, and you'll definitely see more of Abigail (or, Abby, as her friends call (called?) Her!) Much implication, many future. Wow. Holy majestic furball fux! *huh* That's absolutely floating gorgeous! Every single scene here is marvelous! From the kooky "club scene" to the lovely Octan Turret, and the cave walkway... but wow.... that god... The scene is frightening and ominous and beautiful all together! The figure's size and integration is impressive... and I just love the angled rocks beneath! This is a work of art! It reminds me of a skeletal, wingless Ripley! My only gripe is that you cost both MANTIS and Octan 7 points on Jurin II ~Insectoid Aristocrat

^Love that Slaanesh reference! You guys realize MANTIS basically advertises itself as not-quite-legal... right? Some of their tactics are above the board... but a lot are not. They were a criminal enterprise before AG, and are implied to still be that in some respects. I'm sure they had a reason to raid the frigate... or else Will deny this ever happened, or that it was perpetrated by unaffiliated raiders even though those responsible are using MANTIS equipment... ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Hahah! True to life, right? Thanks! I have no more tan tiles than what you see here, but I didn't really feel like the scene needed it too much. I would have liked to tile it, though. Glad you appreciate the furniture! That was my favorite part! I noticed that in you build too, and in Sal's Competition builds. I have wanted to show Dr. Long's past for a while now, and I've been developing it for some time, with some help from Bob and an undisclosed other. I finally settled on a solid idea of her past, and now I'll show bits and pieces of it here and there. What interests me most about characters and people is how they become the way they are. We'll see in future "backstory" builds how Dr. Long went from what she could have been to what she is. Thanks! Glad you liked it! Even though she's a tool, she's also a human being (despite rumors to the contrary). I love shows like Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones that delve into characters aND their motivations as much as they do into the action and intrigue surrounding them. I hope to paint a good picture of who dr. Long is so that her actions have more meaning to them. Thanks! The first and last scenes (hallway and bed) were table scraps and I hope they don't get weighed heavily on the grading scale because they're just there for the story. I didn't have time this week to build all that I wanted to (the hallway scene originally was concieved for you and Dr. Long to march down with the prisoner), but I found the time to throw together some of the Lego already on my desk into the two quick vigs you see above.
