  1. Thanks! I really love those parts! I'm tempted to buy another! They're so useful! Yup! I wish I'd used a Lego PAB cup though. Thanks! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  2. Full set! Finally got that cheerleader! This is my first complete set! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  3. Better pictures have been added, including a complete shot of Kevin's office, showing off an Easter Egg that I only expect Lucas to get. And Dr. Long's Bachelor's project, the custom made Octanis Orchid, inspired by the KimJongIlia Begonia. Also, Kevin's desk's plate of Awesumnium was inspired by the sorta-antagonist of Avatar. IMG_20151012_203556 by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr Thanks! This was all supposed to have taken place last week, but hell, I have a nearly-fulltime job and a full load of school in addition to this. I ain't an octopus! The explanation was OKed by Pombe, but its canonicity is up to interpretation. If you're more of a "realist," like myself and Epsilon, then you may take it for canon, but if you don't mind his artistic licence in physics, then you can interpret Dr. Long and Kevin as overthinking things and being total buzkills. Oh yeah. Odus gets the short end of the stick to be sure! Thanks! Thanks! I'm glad you like the dialogue! A lot of thought went into it actually. And go ahead, It's a standard Octan lamp, and remember, "Andromeda Buys Octan! â„¢" Thanks! Although, I assure you... They have no chemistry. Thanks! Glad to hear you think I captured his personality! I think we may listen to the same podcasts... And yes, I do have some plans for that... but they're pretty long term. I anticipate a slow boil, rather than a quick flambe. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  4. Awesome line up! I'll have to collect them all! I might army build the yellow one on the upper right corner. That yellow torso with question mark superimposed is such a useful figure! Love it! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  5. Can't wait! I'm actually looking forward to this. just goes to show that while I may have an initially negative opinion towards a theme, eventually it can grow on me. Also sky pirates needed to happen eventually. I'm a hypocrite! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  6. Thanks! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  7. Oh snap! Didn't see this! Somehow slipped through my radar! This is gorge-e-ous! I live the whole thing! And the layering is great! That platform is stellar and I really like the use of the grid parts up and down like that! And the ships and ramp are also wonderful! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  8. Thanks! This has been super informative! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  9. Agreed, I think we should keep the dialogue respectful, especially since the designer who worked on most/all of these models is actually listening to all of our complaints. I personally love Mark's work, and I have never told him this, since I never actually speak directly to any of the Lego employees (knowingly), but since he's here, I just have to say, while I don't completely adore the theme, I love his work! I'm mostly looking at the theme from the position of a purchaser (mostly of parts and figures for use in my own MoCs), and less from the position of an admirer of the art of these sets, which is why my own criticisms may be misleadingly negative. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  10. Ooh! Thanks! I've head something about like "bluerender" or something that helps people make better renders? Where could I find that tool? ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  11. Hey! Dannylonglegs here! I have never used LDD before, but circumstances have arisen so that I believe I may need to finally download it. So, my question is: Where do I get it? When I do get it, it sounds fairly straightforward to use, but how much space does it take up? After I make a digi-moc, what do I do next? How do I show it or share it? Anyone know answers to my nooby questions? ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  12. Any response? To provide another example, how would a submarine that can crawl around on the floor with arms be judged if in addition to crawling, it could drop it's weights and then swim as a normal submarine would? Edit: lol, this is now a triple post. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  13. Ah! Cool! That's actually what I thought it was at first, but then I noticed the lack of sleeping equipment. So he "waits" on his chair then? That's gotta be badfor his back! Love the vacuum droid! they're cutting into Aliencat's business! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  14. Are you sure? I got the opposite impression? I think they open as you roll it. They are hinge connected, true, but what they connect to is attatched to some mechanism I think. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  15. He already did... Poor Mark. again, I think that Nexo Knights is different enough from straight castle that we could see a small Castle wave during its stay, although they likely won't invest in a multiple wave medieval Castle theme. And maybe as this theme grows, well get a non-treaded castle. I really do think that this will be an opportunity for Lego to branch out and do another historic theme, so as unfortunate as it is that the shields and torsos don't look compatible with our Castle figures (sucks when Lego tries something new and unique, right? ) , if this means we get a concurrent Greco-Roman or Ancient Chinese theme, then it'll all be very much worth it! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  16. They did a Nexo Knights version of that a while back... http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Enter-the-Serpent-70749 No but really, that'd be super cool! I'm sure Lego would get sued though. That tends to happen to poor Lego when they try new things. I dunno, it looks pretty usable to me. I mean, we haven't seen the eyes yet, but I am willing to bet it won't be too bad. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  17. Glad I captured your character! Well, the whole series of Vigs revolves around "Project Icarus" but it's all mostly administrative stuff. Originally I was going to do a (very) small lab scene, just to solidify all the science talk, but it looked rushed so I scrapped it and just took pictures instead. So, if I don't get credit for science because she's just talking about her science projects this time around, then that's alright with me. That's one way to put it! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  18. And I think it's gunna be a Long Long time.

  19. HA! I thought the title was a typo! Awesome job! More fun with Acronyms! The build itself is quite nice. Love the upward facing ski-things! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  20. Ooh! Nice build! The propeller fish is quite unique! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  21. Ha! Funny build! Love "Robot Elvis!" Also, the purple antennas are interesting! Quite eyecatching. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  22. I love that front piece! Nice small build! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  23. Nice build, and nice story! Looks like you two are going to have fun! Is that his sleeping chamber? The monitors are great! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
