  1. As always, Sal, your stories are wonderful and your builds are just as good! I don't know why this post got so little love! Your turtle monster is great! As is the swamp speeder. It makes for a hilarious and tense encounter with the "natives"! Great work! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  2. Out of perverse curiosity, does anyone know if the figures in the Nexo Knights battlepacks (specifically the demons) are unique? ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  3. I mean, Octan merged with the Merchant Confederacy, so we have our fair share of modified Humans and Aliens, so that's not necessarily true. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  4. Nice build! Simple, but effective! It really does look like industrial ruins. The yellow stripe and gauge really sell it! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  5. Thanks! (And, SHhhhhHH! I don't want my 6 revoked! ) ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  6. Well, we have a Pombe. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  7. Or, you could have a better homeworld if you join Octan... We have corn!... and we're always hiring! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  8. Aliens do not have a homeworld, and wouldn't benefit from the bonus, as they are not competing for resources. (You could join Octan, though, and benefit from this! ) ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  9. "I was always taught that it is better to be feared than loved if you cannot be both. A little menacing never hurts." ~Dr. Long
  10. Man, that was an intense story. Love Raven's icy demeanor! I honestly confused this for an Epsilon story! the medical room is simple, but effective, and overshadowed by the awesome story, but they certainly compliment eachother! If you're interested in constructive criticism, I think one think that would help the build would be some slope pieces to break up the solid white walls, or some texture pieces to provide greeble. Maybe a machine or two alongside the tank. The stripe of yellow is a great touch. Great job! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  11. Thanks! I've been meaning to do something like this for a while. I LoOOooove elevated platforms/roads. Thanks! I wish I could've made it bigger but I was conservative with my pieces... turned out I didn't have to be. I built last week's build after I'd finished this one. The purple canal was also a pretty big part of my inspiration for this build. As soon as I read Farmolis's description a year ago, this image formed in my head. a grid of purple liquid cutting through cornfields. This build brought to you by the American Midwest! Also, some new pics have been added. Enjoy! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  12. Lovely lab design! The big hood is great! the greeble work is awesome! Also, fun to see Kodan's robot friend back. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  13. Gorgeous storefront! You really executed the words very well! Not exactly the kind of Toy Store that poor Louise should be checking out! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  14. Tags: Land Vehicle, Civil Structure, Science Planet: H06, Farmolis "I feel a malaise has grown within myself. This static life does not suit me in the least. It's not enough. I need... more. I want... more...." Pipe Dreams by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr "I despise standing still in the fast lane. I've been on sabbatical since I was retrieved from my imprisonment on F03's Forring... obviously this was not optional. A slew of tests were conducted upon me... to determine the cause of my memory loss... to determine whether I'd been implanted with any spyware, biological or technologically based. All tests showed negative. I had been drugged nightly with an amnesia inducing compound, and my drone had been hacked. End of story. The remainder of the investigation must take place outside a lab, if my captors are to be brought to justice. And to those ends I have enlisted the assistance of one of my most trusted, and loyal colleagues. I hope he can find those responsible... and ... perhaps even... dare I mention... the object I've seen... only in dreams of that place... the enclosed place... the hexagonal walls... the map. The key... no... I refuse to deal in fantasies and illusions. There are concretes. I was detained. There is someone responsible for that. I await Dr. Edris's message." "Waiting. It sickens me. Like stagnant water, it breeds pestilence of the mind. I've written and published two books over the course of my stay (one, "a Guide to Andromeda's Xenobiology; When, Where, and How to Apply Xenobiological Principles," and an informal discussion on the implications of human science in the Andromeda Galaxy, "The Modern Darwins"). and, I've taken a course on Kawashita technological advances... but it's not enough. I yearn to be surrounded by activity and scientific discovery... but I have not been able to leave Farmolis, or attend to my duties upon the Axle--Doctors orders." Pipe Dreams by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr "And so every morning at exactly 7:00 am, I get my exercise in--Doctor's orders. I ride my bike on the maintenance access road of the South Grid Pipeline. It runs from Farmolis City (also known as Farmolis Headquarters City) to Texicana Station. In the early days, Farmolis Headquarters City performed all aspects of Awesomnium production: Extraction, Purification, and Shipping... but now Farmolis city has taken on a more Administrative role, and serves as the planet's port city, and center of Octan colonization in Andromeda. Texicana Station is the primary purification site, and so, this pipe channels a constant stream of pure, fuel-grade Awesomnium to Farmolis Headquarters' Shipping district. These access roads run the whole length, as does the canal of naturally occurring liquid Awesomnium... but I'm not riding nearly that far. Just as far as Kilometer Marker 17. At approximately 7:45 am, I arrive at this point and begin riding back... but not before I indulge my intellect a little." Pipe Dreams by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr "Kilometer marker 17 is placed in the thick of Farmolis' s famous farming district. The densest packed, most nutritious, strongest, GM EthiCORN â„¢ is grown here. The fields stretch to the horizon, and are almost entirely regulated by machines, who conduct all the hydration, pesticide dispersal, harvesting, etc... it's deliciously efficient.... however, on my daily rides, I've noticed a local specimen of Xenobotanical nature that seems to have developed an immunity to Octan's pesticides... it is an interesting find; a novel xenobotanical specimen on the planet longest occupied by our force. Life finds a way, as they say." Pipe Dreams by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr "I've been recording it's growth patterns. It grows swiftly, and seems to seek increased hight, as it has begun to wrap around the power pole beside the canal. I lack a Logbook, so I've devoted this data to a simple recording device I purchased in the interim. When I escape this sisyphean sabbatical, I will add this specimen to the Axle's databank. Then, perhaps we can devise a pesticide capable of exterminating it." Pipe Dreams by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr "Soon. Soon I will be aboard my beloved Axle, and all these planets to which we've gained access will yield their rewards. Within our grasp, these worlds will be investigated and examined. We will catalog the soil components. Capture and tag the wildlife. Extract and analyze the flora. All will be perfectly understood, and by understanding, we will control, and exert our will upon the natural world in perfect efficiency. For profit." Pipe Dreams by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr "There is science to be done. And I will be back to it... very soon now, I think." Pipe Dreams by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr (Sorry for the short novel. Hopefully it provides a little insight into Dr. Long's motivation. Also, I have more pictures. I just haven't edited them yet. They'll be up before the deadline. Pics up!) ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  15. Wow. That is an impressive quantity of good looking, uniform ships! Really great job! really great! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  16. I'd let it slide... it is after the contest, afterall... ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  17. For selfish reasons, I really hope it starts this week. Also, yay! Great new rule! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  18. "This is a prerecorded statement from Dr. Long, and I approve this message." ~Dr. Long
  19. Thanks! Always an honour to receive praise from you. The Crater actually took the longest to do in the build, but mostly due to its size, comparatively speaking, and the drill was the biggest challenge, since I've never been particularly fond of trucks/wheeled vehicles. Thanks! That's what I aim for with Zotaxian builds. This one is a repeat from a previous week, but most Zotaxian interiors will look similar. Their aesthetic is hexagonal and grilled, with dark bley, and blue accents. Also, ditto on the praise comment! I employed the pneumatic tubes because when I googled real boring drills, I was impressed by the sheer quantity of hydraulics, and felt compelled to incorporate that into my own design. Yeah... Sorry about that. I've never been great at balancing real life and my hobbies... or real life in general. But, I have a low intensity summer ahead of me, and I plan on cramming as much Andromeda and other Lego projects in as possible. I'll plan accordingly this time, though, and actually try to get things done in a timely fashion, and not screw up colabs, like I did with the time travel arch with Medium. (sorry) I'm holding myself to a higher standard now. Only good builds will see the light of day. Thanks for your kind words regarding my storylines! Glad I have a fan! And yeah... The moment Dr. Long begins to reintegrate herself into the Eb and Flow of the new Octan there'll be conflict. Watch out. Did I quote the Crystal Skull? must have been a mistake. Glad you got the references though! Thanks! I tried to make it seem that way! Really, I just wanted to use my four big old-brown long two-sided slope parts I got from the original vulture droid... because... well,... they're not exactly easy to use... insofar as I am aware. Thanks! Thanks! Glad to be back, and yes, I plan to stick around this time.... at least for the summer. It's going to be a big summer for me, and I already have wips that just need some finishing touches, Hopefully they'll be showcased this coming week. Thanks! Glad you like them, and great to be back! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  20. Hilarious build! Even though it's quite simple, it's stylistic, and clever, and the story's great! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  21. Lovely lighting! Really well done build! Nice and stylish. I'll be sure to freshen up on my Beltar history, as your story has been awesome! Great to see you back! I'm back too! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  22. Oh my gawds! oh, man, I missed your crazy, "mildly" perverted builds! also, the dark tan ship is great, and very fitting with your signature style. All around great builds and funny story. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  23. Thats a superb Kawashita ship. Wow. The shape is delightful! I love it! Very in keeping with my personal ideas as to what Kawashita's aesthetic should be (even if it turns out to be something other than Kawashita) It feels primordial; an ancient hulking leviathan levitating through sufficiently advanced technology, smoothly floating through the alien sky. That thing looks like it could wreck some stuff. Everything else is great too! The other vehicles are sweet, and the scenery is well done. I like how the Tyrant fits in between the islands. Wonderful build! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  24. Oh noes! Poor Brik! Another classic-styled build from you, and a nice bit of action! Good job! Can't wait to see more of Brik's story ~Insectoid Aristocrat
