Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Conclusion
Dannylonglegs replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
There was a Deadboard? Whoops, I must have forgotten about that after looking at it. I was having a busy week and it slipped my mind, and no one had posted much in it. I feel I did rather poorly this game, although, I thought I was killed by the Townies. I was very busy for the entirety of the game, and I almost asked to be removed, but I saw that someone had already done so, so I decided to grin and bear it. I had fun, that first day, but I didn't expect to last very long, particularly considering my experience in the game before. I was fortunately in the position of being expected to act somewhat scummy by the game mechanics, so I was sort of relieved in that respect, but I still feel like I didn't have enough time to devote to the Game. I was really worried that I'd let my teammate down, and I was worried about that from the start. I hope you're not annoyed with me BoyWonder for dying so quickly. I think that I'm going to be taking a brief break from Mafia (probably jut one or two games) due to my busy schedule and finals coming up. I'm thinking of doing the same for Heroica, only playing one game, and not QMing for a while. I'm interested to know why I was targeted by Hink. Was I being too Towny, or was I just one of those "not important outlier" types. ~Insectoid Aristocrat- 85 replies

I'd love to apply. I mean, I'd really love to apply. This game looks like a riot, and the secret furry inside me can't wait to play with Fabuland figures again, but Real-life is preventing me from devoting the required energy to play. It's been the same for the past two games. I haven't been able to be online 24/7, and it effects my ability to analyze and fake analyze. I thought it'd get better, but both times I managed to screw up rather badly due to lack of time (I don't think I'm actually as bad at playing scum as it would appear, it's just that I haven't been able to muster the time to be convinceing.), so I won't be applying to this game. I think that I'll be able to play again in the summer, but unfortunately that'll mean missing this one. I'll try to watch it though, in my 'copious' spare time. ~Furry Aristocrat- 74 replies

Have you seen the Loot I'm offering them in the optional battles? Besides, the only reason it's slow is I don't have the pictures or the time to start the next encounter until the evening. If they chose to do battle more frequently, it wouldn't be quite so slow during this part. I know. It's not that I don't want to go on more of your quests, or PL again, I just want to see what else the world has to offer. Let's not think of this as a break-up, but rather, simply going our separate ways for a time. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Although I'd gladly do any of those, I think I might want to expand my horizons QM-wise. After all, we've been together for about 6 months. PLing the way I do it is quite intensive too. It might be fun to go easier for a little while. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Heroica RPG - Quest #62: Insider Trading
Dannylonglegs replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in The Heroica Archive
The compass tells you direction, not route, necessarily, IMO. Feel free to try it though. It'd make sense, in character, at least. I took this interpretation early on when I was looking at your stats and wondering how that'd fit with my wild goose chase plot. I also would not have allowed you to use it to look for people you'd never met, IE: I ask my compass to locate the Po Brothers.Your compass can't find them since you don't know who they are. or, I use my compass to find the rumour spreader.Your compass can't find the Rumour Spreader since you don't know who the Rumour Spreader is. Fortunately, that never really came up. It would have worked with Abe the Accountant, or Bart, or Dill, or Ave, or Dice,or Yoro, or the Cloth Merchants, or the Mob Boss, or the Clothes-Guild-Head, or the Bard, if you wanted to locate any of them at any point during the day, and it might have given you some insight on who the players in this game were, but nothing you couldn't find out any other way. I didn't think about it that way, but there are two ways (or technically 4-6 ways) to gain access to 3 battles before the end of my Quest. At this point, including this optional battle, there's a max of 5-6 battles left, including this one, and that includes either doing well in the maze or something else... I doubt you'll get that many. A more accurate Max might be 4-5, but since it is literally the Max, I gave you the larger of the two. At the rate you're going though, I only see you getting 2. I'll let you figure out what those are. I've already done more than my fair share of laying cards on the table. So you've decided to ditch this battle? I'll update in the evening, as usual. I hope my slowness is not annoying you all. -

Dannylonglegs replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in The Heroica Archive
To lay all the cards on the table, there is no one way to end the quest properly. I have plans for whatever the result of the ship escapade, and if you go and find some way that I didn't expect, I can roll with it as well. I didn't expect you to do this, but frankly, had you chosen so, I'd have let you fight every single combat I had prepared, gaining all the loot and exp. Sure you'd miss the ship that way, but it's certainly a valid choice. Also, whether you catch the ship or not, there will be a boss fight. But, these particular guys will not be sticking around until you get back from the Harbour. -

"Raise the flag, sing the song, Here we come, we're 'leven strong! and 'leven poor men can't be wrong Kill the spies! Kill the spies!" The crowd sang, as they prepared to attack the party. Karie, having quickly reached a consensus with her party mates, threw her smoke bomb at the riotous crowd. the party barreled through the disoriented masses, wheelbarrow first, and didn't look back. the crowd coughed and cursed, and even after the party was well out of sight they could still hear the crowd shouting "Death to the Hinckwells!" The heavy rain eventually drowned out the chanting citizens. The party was drenched. After 5 minutes of running, the made it to the Middle Wharf District where they had met with the gangsters. They continued on the main road until they heard a loud explosion to their side. A heavy crack was heard, and right in-front of the party, a huge crane fell. it crashed into the building across the street from where it had been standing. A band of were-raven mobsters then climbed out of the wreckage. "Good work boss, now let's teach these Fishermen a thing or two about paying protection money!" the five-men band of were-ravens raced towards the party. "Who a' dese guys?" a second goon asked, upon almost bumping into Drake. "Dey're armed to da teeth! The Fishe'men's Guild must 'ave hi'ed bodygua'ds! Let's deal with dem fiost! Voice in the Sky says 4:29, having fought for 5 minutes and walked for 7. At this rate, you'll get there at 4: 54, as opposed to 4:47 if you hadn't fought the jailbirds. If you get into another fight, it'll take another 4-7 minutes, and you'll get there around 4:59. Also, there is a maze coming up where you have the chance to regain lost time if you make all the right choices, so don't lose all hope if you go over, and also, even if you do miss catching her, she'll still be in the harbour kicking off, and while you may not be able to fight her, you'll certainly get to have a bit of conversation with her. I'll update Later this evening. -

Like many things in my quest, this is indeed a reference. This is to Gavroche in "Les Miserables," and it's more like, "Here's the thing about equality--everyone's equal when they're dead." and the lines the bard sings after that are retrofitted from the lines following those in Gavroche's song. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

OoC: I love you guys! Great RPing and whatnot! The Angry Mob leader seemed impressed by the Party and their devotion to The Cause. "Onwards Patriots! If the Hinckwells want our cloth they can pull it from the sea!" he laughed angrily, leading his men passed the bluffing party... As the Bard's troupes passed though, Fat Frank stared at the Party, as if he were thinking about something. Then a light-bulb went off in his head. "You!" He stated with confusion, anger, and self assurance. "I know you." he stated walking up to the party. The Bard turned around, watching Frank. "You came to my stall earlier, right? You asked about... You didn't buy anything... but you payed me... for the rumours? Right? You... Oh Ennoc." he stated. "These men are Hinckwell Spies!!!" He shouted, stepping back from the startled Party. "I knew you lot were no good the moment I saw you." He brandished his expensive-looking bastard sword. "What's this, Compatriot?" The Bard asked Frank. "These liars came by my stall this morning and the only thing they did was ask about the rumours. They spoke with Vinny and Che Qi as well. They gotta be hinckwell spies sizing up my wares for when they'd come back and take it all!" The Bard looked shocked, then angry. "You Aristocrats think you can shit on the little guy!? We'll show you a thing or two about equality! Everyone's equal when they're dead! Ring the bells, wake the Hells! Death to the Hinckwells!" He Shouted. "DEATH TO THE HINCKWELLS!!!" The mob replied. Karie ordered her Party members to help her heap the bodies onto the wheelbarrow and took it with them until they got to the river. They took the Market road until they came to the East Wharf Road. They took it, drawing odd looks from rioting civilians the whole way. Frankly, though, the citizens were too busy overthrowing anything that bore resemblance to authority to care about the Party's actions. After being on the road for less than seven minutes, the party ran into a large, semi-organized mob. The Party recognized the Bard from before leading the troupe, as well as Fat Frank loitering in the back, and several other faces they think they recall seeing earlier. Now they all wield torches and swords. "Be ye friends of the people of Sailor's Haven, or friends of the Lord or the Hinckwells?!" He called at the Party, blocking their forward progress. -

Karie set about distributing the loot, and the party shooed away the stragglers of the crowd. Then they dealt with the bodies. Dreyrugr chopped the heads of the lookalikes off and handed them to Amorith. The mage set them out and burned them with magic. They were now still recognizable as the Po Brothers, but not verifiably Sha Do and Da Gi... The cloak and the dagger that the party acquired from the defeated birds would likely come in handy in convincing the mob boss too. The party was then left with the body of Bo Ba, the ambitious son of Don Ba, who'd be none too pleased to hear he'd died. Karie looked around for something to carry the heads (and maybe the corpse as well). Fortunately, she found a wheelbarrow full of flowers at an abandoned flower stall.
