Amorith prepared a deadly frigid blast in the back row, and released it on Sha Do. The smug manipulator was attempting to fly away, but was taken by surprise as his wings froze over, and he tumbled to the earth, breaking his smooth-talking beak on a wall. He was quite dead. Dreyrugr, finally getting the knack of his new dagger and enraged at Sha Do's manipulation, slid his blade into Da Gi's chest cavity, releasing a sealed money pocket that Dreyrugr picked up. 4. "Don't worry Galen, I could never fall to his level." Stated Sylph in response to Galen's worried comment. "And I shall never be his friend. It is my crusade to rid this world of abominations such as this ether-made half-souled monster."
  5. Sylph's snarky air seemed to consume itself around the verbally assaulted Druid. He took a brief step back. When was the last time someone peered into his soul and saw his spirit? And the things the abomination spoke... How far had the thing actually looked, and what was it simply garnering from the none-too-subtle threats the Druid had leaked to his foe in his arrogance. Damn! "You're wrong." Sylph finally stated, grim determination defining his every syllable. "You're wrong to think that we are the same, abomination. In fact, we are opposites. What you do out of hate, I do out of love. And you're wrong to think I know so little of loyalty and friendship too. I am nothing if not loyal to my goddess, and my men are loyal to me until we defeat you, as am I loyal to the Heroica organization..." What was the point of arguing with the Regret? Did it matter in the long term? Possibly now. The stakes were higher now. He'd dug through the protection and glanced at Sylph's most hidden feature... A feature that Sylph did not wish to expose quite yet. Hiding behind words in battle with a monster seemed futile, but still, the charade had to go on a little longer... Yet a little longer. If not for the Regret, then for the party. And the Regret had misread his motivation too. Perhaps the word game could continue still longer. "You think I can't see the world for what it is? I am a thing of this world, just as you are one of another. I know this worlds crevasses and climbs like I know my path. Your words cannot divert me. I know my course. I don't regret an action I've made or a thought I've conceived, for every stumble or doubt has simply strengthened my resolve to follow the right path. After all these years... I regret nothing. And I shall never regret anything. I shall not descend into darkness even in the darkest times, for my goal is the unfaltering light guiding my stride." Sylph spoke truthfully, or at least as truthfully as he dared to speak.

Karie, a good party leader, helped the senseless Dreyrugr. "What the hells was that?" stammered Dreyrugr. "I don't remember what he said, or if he said anything, but... I can't believe he got into my head..." Drake took a swig of his remedy, aided by his visible invisible friend. Nessa, empowered by her previous success, aimed at Sha Do... but missed... and Sha Do was upon her. The sly raven whispered in her ears, and, try as she might, his words confused her. "You've known it all along, haven't you?" he queried, "You know that she's not leading this party to success. She's working for someone else, and you've fallen into her trick! Wake up!" Karie, hearing his words, couldn't help but become confused herself. Meanwhile, Amorith kept blasting away at Bo Ba, killing the ambitious mobster. "My father..." He groaned. "Will hear of this." He finished, falling to the ground. Da Gi responded by carving into everyone who had listened to his associate. "Welcome to the scum team!" he grunted. 8. A quick shrug of surprise danced across Sylph's concealed figure. A feral growl rumbled from withing his cold-iron helmet, the noise of a wary wolf regarding a threatening stranger, the sound of a bear meeting a challenge. The Druid huffed as an elk would huff hot air from its nostrils, or as a wounded wolverine would in defiance. He chuckled, the hollow sound reverberating in his metal mask. "You disappoint me, Regret..." He started slowly in a voice as capricious and jumpy as a cornered fox. "You wish to wound me with such a hollow insult? Your blasphemy falls short. To love a god; to devote oneself to a thing of infinite emotion, feeling, Knowledge, and power; to follow the spoken and unspoken wishes of the very earth; to gratify even the darkest desires of all her creation... That is the noblest calling; my own calling. I serve my Goddess faithfully, and faith is rewarded--not by your silly conceptions of "bedding Sylvania," but by much greater still. You can seek to offend all you like, but I don't believe that you, in all your 'knowledge,' can still even comprehend love. You've buried yourself too deeply into its antithesis." The Druid sighed, turned to his men, and called out his orders. "One way or another, that String must snap this round. Galen, let's hope your mistress treats us right." He chuckled halfheartedly, "And I don't mean Beatrice." he added. Order Punii: Make Jellies Sylph: Heal Rome, BR Elgar: String, BR *If Spirit is summoned, summon Topaz Galen: Staff, BR Rome: Claw A, BR Galen: String, BR Sylph: Heal Alex, BR (If He's no longer Hexed. 9. I'm fairly certain Hal shouldn't act twice, so I'll get a battle order up when this is all settled out.
  10. I think that only refers to what they say: ie: A hero cannot say: "Since I'm Hexed, I'm going to drink a potion, BR," Or, "Don't put me on the battle order: I'm Hexed." They will attack regardless, but If a Hero no longer has a legal move to make, it can't make one, I think. I've been providing Alex with an action so that when he's freed he'll do something. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  11. He already Acted though. He can't act twice in a round unless he's hastened, right? That's not how I ran it with Dreyrugr this passed round, at-least. Ah, good, thanks! That was terrifying. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  12. He already Acted though. He can't act twice in a round unless he's hastened, right?
  13. Since when is Hal hastened?
  14. Buy the Uruk Hai Army. You don't need anything else! (But seriously, sorry that's pretty much the only set I have with me. I hope it doesn't make the backdrops too monotonous.) Yes! Hopefully you won't be getting paid until we can deal with the bloody string. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  15. That's what roommates are for! I don't even remember how much Lego I've put on his poor Camera. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  16. I was thinking "I, Carly," but that works too. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  17. Lol, yes. Bring it! We shall destroy Regret utterly. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  18. I don't think it needs an explanation, but if you want one, look over any of his Quests. It's amazing? It's like Rick-Rolling but you're trapped all day! Seriously though, I've been compiling a list of tropes to which my villains comply that I plan to post at the end of the Quest. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  19. I'll run the round after Karie provides a Battle Order or agrees with yours.
  20. Thanks! I never expect for Amorith to roll a one in the first round, but for some bizarre reason, he always does. I think he's bribing the Random Dice Goddess. Also, I didn't mean for this battle to go on quite as long as the Po Brothers battle, so I let a few of the monsters have really low HP. Too low. I agree about the strategy. I think they complement each-other better than even the Po Brothers (but with their HP killing one first would have been an up-hill battle.) I think that enemies that allow the PCs to strategize are funner for both the players and the QM. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  21. "Hm." Chuckled Sylph. "For one so intelligent, your naivety amuses me." he stated. "You think your power is your own to control... but sorrow, despair, hatred, regret... These are all the bindings of a slave. You believe yourself free to write your own destiny? Your hatred and regret shall write that for you. Gods do not envy your power." Sylph stated. "They pity you."
  22. Regardless of the rules on the subject, I meant for Hexed to replace Confused. It's all part of the same escalating Special. When I wrote it originally, it was only used when target was confused, but I figure that that would have next to no effect, because why pin anyone who's confused on an opponent in the first place, so I added the Marked mechanism to make it more likely to actually effect the party. It'd have been clearer then, as it would have read: Target is hexed. (Used only if Target is Confused), but still technically wrong. As it is, I think it's still somewhat obvious what I meant, but I'm going to fix the diction. It likely won't make much of a difference strategy-wise, though. Thanks for catching me on that though. Also, in my defense, I wrote up the characters in 45 minutes as I was posting. I thought they weren't going to fight, but then I decided to help them out by making the decision process easier and threw them into combat, but I was only half-way prepared myself. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
