OoC: you're not going to like this. > Amorith vs. Bo Ba 3 Hit: (Opal: 21*2=42-6=36 to Bo Ba) >Karie vs. Da Gi 2 (10+6=26/2=13=13 to Da) >Nessa vs. Da Gi 1 (Tripleshot: 16-6=10 Damage to Bo 16-2=14 Damage to Da and Sha) >Drake vs. Sha Do 6 Special Damage (Confused, 6 for confused: Amorith 3, Karie 1, Nessa 2, Dreyrugr 6) >Dreyrugr vs. Sha Do 1/2 to target Ally: Targets Sha Do: 6 Special Damage (Hexed) 36= Bo Ba 13+14=27 Damage to Da Gi 14 Damage to Sha Do Drake Confused Dreyrugr Hexed The round started out well for the party, Amorith scoring a solid hit with his ice magic, Karie stabbing Da Gi in a critical region, and Nessa, on her well accustomed bow, placing 3 shots on the opponents. Then things got bad. Drake swung at Sha Do, but missed, the were raven deflecting the erroneous swing. he then moved in, and whispered in Drake's ear. "Hahahaha... You fools thought you could trust your own, but you're smart, aren't you. You know that one of your so called "Companions" is working for the other guy, don't you?" "Someone in the group is working for the other guy?" Drake stammered, confused by the nonesensical tale Sha Do was spinning. The Party looked at him in confusion, but most of them didn't fall for the scam. Dreyrugr on the other hand, sick of the twists and lies he'd heard, and feeling paranoid, queried with eye-brows raised... "What do you mean by the other guy?" Sha Do answered him on the spot, a consummate liar and manipulator, "I know who hired you, the way you act, the way you're equipped, I know where you're from, and I know your mission... "Kill the Po Brothers," right?" He asked, waiving his hands around sarcastically at the mention of the Po Brothers, as if to either say he knew it was a lie, or to show disrespect to the Po Brothers,"Well just think to yourself why you're here.... and not... There." He spoke, generally, but specific enough for Dreyrugr to fill in the blanks. He then stepped up to the confused vampire and whispered other, secret words into his ear. The Vampire's eyes widened. "You're right." He stammed, reeling from whatever phony revelation the were-raven had fed him. "Stick to your guns and hose. You know what to do." The Were-Raven encouraged. The Vampire had a dazed look on his face. He was completely under Sha Do's wing. >Karie vs. Jay Walker 3 Hit (12/2=6 Damage) >Amorith vs. Hobgoblin Murder 1 Shield (Amethyst Chosen 21 Damage to All, 42 to Humanoids: 21-6=15 to Bo, 21-2=19 to Da and Sha, 42 damage to Jay (Dead), and 40 Damage to Hobgoblin Murderer (also Dead)) >Nessa vs. Bo Ba 1 Shield (Tripleshot: 16-6=10 Damage to Bo 16-2=14 Damage to Da and Sha) >Drake vs. Da Gi 5 Damage (8/2=4-2=2 Damage) >Dreyrugr vs. Sha Do 4 (Miss) 15+10=25 Damage to Bo Ba 19+14=33 Damage to Da Gi and Sha Do Death to Jay and the Murderer The round progressed well for the heroes, Karie stabbing the rapist mercilessly, and Amorith blasting all enemies with his dark power, reminding the QM to raise the HP of even low level goons, and to stop leaning on the fourth wall before he breaks it. Nessa, returning to her well accustomed bow, scored an awesome hit on all of the remaining enemies. Drake swung and missed at one of the Doppelgangsters, receiving a meager hit from his opponent. Dreyrugr also failed to get a hit in with his new blade, used to the length of a scythe. Round 2 of Jailbirds Bo Ba, Don's Son “Damn! Those two were useless. "Ha." Grunted Sylph. "You are a fool to think you know all the truths of Olegaia. As long lived as you are, there are certain truths held only by the gods... and those they choose to curse with its knowledge... And I highly doubt you've ever come close enough to a god to burn in that fire." He spoke darkly with a grim air of challenge in his voice, but some sad note beneath it--the subtlety lost on most--the sadness of experience. -

"The fun thing is... We can still benefit from those." Grinned Sylph. "you could call it a blind man's buff." He jested, pleased with his success in pinning the rogue hero down. "now, who's in need of a heal?" he asked, more to himself than anyone else. "Indeed, Galen, slow and steady wins the race." he added with a deep note of satisfaction. Since Dreyrugr is no longer actively participating, all I need is Karie to affirm the order considering the decision to misuse the Don's gift, and Drake to affirm his actions (although I can run the round without his input once Karie re-affirms the order.) Keep in mind that if Nessa takes a turn to remove the bolts, an enemy will not be targeted. -

I figured this was coming so I'll tell you I'm running this realistically. Because of the lie you told Don he thinks you'll be staying in Town for more than a day or two. He's not omnipotent. That said, feel free to lie to him more and disobey his rules as you would in real life. It is probable that he'll find out, but it's just as probable that you'll be out of town by then. It's more likely to affect you the next time any of you come to Brendenton. -
I agree. He deserves worse. Endgame... Your punishment must be more severe. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

I was going to do it anyway, after deciding to change how I did this sequence to make it easier for you all. If Karie and the party want to leave the optional combats (and all of the combats up until you get to the harbour will be optional) all you have to do is use a smoke bomb. It'll just save time, I think. It takes a turn to remove Ravenslayer Bolts. -
I made my character's back story as soon as I signed up. I didn't know all the details at that point, but I knew what and who my character was.... And I remain the only one who does, with a character that doesn't draw attention to himself or his past apart from occasional cryptic tidbits about a dead master who was also a druid. He was set-up to be a druid before I even knew what the class was like. Although right now he seems quite talkative to the immortal abomination he's currently chatting up. I've revealed more about his past and his true self in this quest than in any before (although I did throw in a moment in Sandy's Protect my Brother where he switched helmets...). Endgame, due to Aquos the blind, knows the second most about my character's nature, but still next to nothing about his/her past. What can I say? I like mysterious characters like Abe. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
-
Wow, I just realized how useful the Hide of the bleeding would be to an Assassin. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
-
I am definitely both Support and a Healer, but I agree that the out-of-the-box Druid is not only a Healer, but the best Healer, bringing back the dead and curing all ailments of everyone in the party on a Shield, and capable of avoiding hits to continue his/her healing service by remaining in the back and possessing a 1/2 chance to avoid a Special. I also agree with your assessment of knights. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
-
There we go. I've decided to make all the future optional combats allot simpler... Stay in or smoke-bomb out. None of them are integral to the plot, but they may be worth it for the rewards/moral value. Also, is the plot that hard to get? Did I go overboard on the investigation aspect? ~Insectoid Aristocrat

I'll make all future optional combats a bit easier then. If you decide against it, use a smoke bomb. Amorith, feeling a pang of heroism light up his heart, decided to turn back and protect the innocent townsfolk. He charged back into action, his Party members dragged along for the ride. Well here's the paragraph from page 3 where it was stated: But I can paraphrase it if you'd like... and provide a succinct summary if it's still confusing you, which it may be. I realize the plot is somewhat convoluted due to the fact that for the longest time the party had no idea who they were looking for. The Mission is to A. Figure out who's spreading the news of the Hinckwell's attempted Monopoly to the Merchants (which he wanted to avoid because Dill didn't want to give the Shadeaux time to launch a counter maneuver, and if it was released to the people without pro-Hinckwell propaganda and positive rumours, as it was, it could cause the people to riot, which it did.) and B. Hinder his plan (whatever it may be) or stop him entirely. What's happened so far is: The Party sailed to Brendenton with Bart, the Hinckwell employee. As soon as the Party got to Brendenton (once called Sailor's Haven), they encountered the 'beggar' Crawfee (who really worked for Marty as an information gatherer/spreader). He told them a negatively butchered version of the true rumour and the scrammed. The Party then arrived in the Inn where Dill Hinckwell, their employer, was waiting for the Guild-Heads Meeting to commence. He told the Party to find out who was spreading the rumours, why and to try and stop him from succeeding in his obviously anti-Hinckwell (or anti-Lord Brenden) plot. The Party traced the rumours back to the Mercutio-worshiping Information broker, Marty the Face, who tricked them into telling him how far the rumour had spread (to ensure that the plan was working), and then proceeded to attack the party, that he knew worked for Dill because Crawfee told him. When defeated, he lied to the party to mislead them, stating that the Po Brothers worked for the Mafia. (Had the Party asked almost anyone else, such as the Banker (but not Dice, Yoro, or Abe/Fleur) then they would have been told that they worked for the Church. The Banker actually almost told the Party about the Po-Brothers.) On the way to the lair, the Party bumped into Abe, Dice, and Yoro, who were on their way to reveal their hands in the conspiracy to Marty and group-up (Marty had only been in contact with the Po-Brothers). When the Party got to the Mob hideout, they were directed to the Church and given the side-quest of bringing back Ed and Al's heads, after claiming to work for the departed Marty. The Party then went to the Church where they found the Po-Brothers and their employer, the corrupt cleric Caine, who they killed. The Po Brothers then told them of the Rendezvous point, but by then Abe/Fleur had already determined that the Po Brothers were exposed and went ahead with the plan with neither Marty nor Caine's money. The Party rushed to the rendezvous point, but found that Abe had already absconded, leaving behind her disillusioned former fiance, Dice, and his companion Yoro, who explained Fleur's plot to the Party, which was to cause panic in the Cloth Market, buy cloth at low low prices, and sell it to the Shadeaux at a high price, giving the Shadeaux a means to remain competitive in the Cloth market while they attempted to locate another source of Cloth, making the Hinckwell's costly monopoly much less important. All the while, the third conspirator, the Clothes-Guild-Head bided his time in the Guild-Heads meeting until about 3:30, at which point he revealed the Hinckwell plot to the Guild-Heads, causing the panic that Fleur needed. The Party is now attempting to catch Fleur before she leaves at 5:00, but they're finding it difficult due to the rioting. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
