D2C Contest: Rise of the Dread Colossus
XimenaPaulina replied to Aanchir's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Wow, a very impressive joint entry Aanchir (and twin brother)! The overall entry is very well designed I must say - from the detachable mini-subs coupled with the other highly-playable features, to the nicely-built formidable foe, this really has the makings of a great Atlantis set. Excellent job and best of luck in the contest! -
Great to see clearer and hi-res photos of the upcoming sets, thanks for sharing once again grogall! The Summer wave looks very promising with lots of new pieces, from new weapons to new animal molds, this looks to be an exciting time for Kingdoms.
-
Very interesting entry badgerboy, who would've thought that the wacky idea of combining of a T-47 and an AT-ST would look this good. Very nicely done and good luck in the contest!

I was really impressed with the SNOT build of the wings of this starfighter... until we get to the 'abrputly-ended' tip. Was it your intention to design it that way? It looks 90% a Delta-7B except for the tip and some details, and that's the idea I'm getting from this build. Still, the SNOT wings are nicely done!

Wow you really never cease to amaze us with your fantastic creations Kris, this one certainly lives up to the billing. The red walls with varying shades for the brickwork is simply wonderful, as well as the surrounding walls and greeneries. Outstanding work as always! (BTW, good call posting it here in Historic, it would definitely be out-of-place in Sci-Fi.)

Pretty neat Blacktron builds, I like the Heavy Assault Vehicle the best - it really looks one mean and nasty heavy-duty machine. Well done!
-
Another very nice CMS vig Etzel! A small build indeed, but effectively conveys the sad realistic truth about the state of some of our beaches. Good job once again!
-
A highly unusual and unique entry I must say, but still a valid one nonetheless. Interesting concept for a podracer-type of a speeder, and even a wackier idea for Threepio to be a Jedi (a good version of C-3PX?).

Harry Potter: Wizard's Duel - Duelling Club

Hufflepuff Magus Frankfurt Flashburn versus Gryffindor Magus Ollivander Dippet Round 2 Frankfurt Flashburn l 5 ______________________Ollivander Dippet l 3 Low - 0______________________________________Expelliarmus! - 0 Expelliarmus! - 0 ______________________________Low - 0 Stupefy! - 1__________________________________Sectumpsempra!- Mid - 0 High - 0______________________________________Expecto Patronum! - 0 Mid - 0 ______________________________________Mid - 0 Health: 55_____________________________________Health: 2 After a dismal start, Gryffindor Ollivander Dippet begins the second round by disarming Frankfurt. The Hufflepuff though, quickly recovers his wand and retaliates with his own Expelliarmus, knocking his opponent's weapon to the floor. With the Gryffindor defenseless, Frankfurt stuns Ollivander with a powerful Stupefy and slams him against the wall. The Hufflepuff continues his offensive onslaught with a high-arching spell, but the diminutive Magus counters with his Labrador Patronum. Both duelists then unleash similar body spells that cancel each other out, sending flickering sparks and a gust of smoke throughout the dueling room. Frankfurt continues to pound his opponent and steadily increases his lead. Ollivander needs some serious comeback in the decisive round to turn things around in his favor. Send in your Round 3 DSs when ready. -
Interesting topic. Honestly, I think all of these are fabulous minifigs, and choosing which one among them I like the best is quite difficult. Personally, I find both the Spartan and the Elf tied at the top of my list, both are beautifully done minifigs which offer (almost) all new elements (weapons, shield, headpieces). But in the purposes of the poll I chose the Spartan, which between the two has more army-building potential than the Elf.

Very nice classic-style gas station LT! I simply love that Octan signage, and pls. excuse my ignorance, that is a gas pump in the updated pics right?
-
Another great review The Brickster! For a small set I really like the new elements this has to offer - two bottle pieces, a globe, and some interesting printed pieces - all very useful even for non-pirate MOCs. The minifig line-up is good, and even the globe holder and bone shelf are very well done. A great buy for 12 bucks IMO.
-
Excellent brickbuilt representation of the 'Flat Earth' fictional setting of Discworld Cole! Both the great turtle and elephants are very well done. Great job!
-
Then you still have lots of time to further modify/improve your entry, and possibly build entries for the other two categories as well.
-
Very nice rendition of Busou Shinki in minifig form, the various elements - hair, face, torso, and brickbuilt armor/weaponry - are very accurate with the real figure. Very well done R.Suzuki!
-
I wasn't familiar with the character, but after a quick Google search, I must say your custom is pretty accurate with the real Baraka. The face decal and outfit is better in this updated version, but I kinda liked the chrome blade of your previous one better over this all-grey one. Still, nice work!
-
The customized Imperial Officer helmet fits Shredder perfectly! The other details (claws, spiked shoulder plate, mouthguard) are spot-on too. Great job as always Omi!

Thanks for sharing your LDD MOC (and the link to your previous ones) here in EB Judah! I must really say I'm very impressed with all of your spaceship designs, from all the different sizes and classes that you created. What's even more impressive that they're all minifig-scale and have detailed interiors. If it's just ok with you, you might want to share your LXF for people to have a closer look at your models. This practice will give members a better appreciation of your builds and at the same time will encourage healthy exchange of views, comments, and constructive criticisms. (But it's also totally ok if you choose not to). And I agree you've come to the right place for LDD troubleshooting and building techniques, we have very competent LDD builders and experts over in the dedicated LDD subforum to provide their insightful views.

Great entry Praiter! I really like the detailing of this speederbike, especially the flag-ski-PoP claw combo in the front, as well as the 'normal biker leg positioning' of Vader (though I'm trying to figure out how you did that without using a standard motorcycle body piece). Best of luck in the contest!

Master Wom-Niii Gnaden's NTB-630 bomber
XimenaPaulina replied to Commander_Rob's topic in Watto's Junkyard
Looks good Commander_Rob, I agree with LT, the build has that basic '99 feel into it. The description is very well done too. Good luck in the contest! -
Mutant Atlantide Guard
XimenaPaulina replied to 74louloute's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Excellent brickbuilt giant mutated mermaid! Great use of those black circular rubber pieces, the ruins are well done too. Good work 74louloute! -
Nicely done, I love the slanted rider seat and the unusual use of those curved slopes.

Boba Fett's Mandalorian Battle Armor
XimenaPaulina replied to Solscud007's topic in Watto's Junkyard
Very well done Solscud! It's nice to see a rare mech vehicle in the SW universe, and this one looks really good with the play features and consistent Boba-ish color scheme. Great job and good luck in the contest! -
Now that's looking great Artizan, I love the overall 'beefy/bulky' look of this speeder, with lots of unique parts usage, especially the scorpion-SBD arms combo. The custom minifig convincingly looks like an evil Sith Lord, the face fits the villainous role perfectly. Very well done so far and looking forward for more views of this entry.
