  1. Brilliant review as always I O'dine/Cloney. It's good to finally see Ron getting a much-needed makeover (he looks much better now). As for Hermione, she's quite ok but I think her previous hair would have been much suited for the new fig. Nothing special about the set, except for the pretty good minifig selection, perfect for those who'd want to get these 4 main characters in one buy.
  2. Thanks ADHO! Yeah, it was supposed to be purple (or near purple) if not for the aforementioned over-editing of the photos. And I understand that the base isn't quite as wide as I would have wanted it to be. Actually I could have done it using other techniques, but it would compromise the interior space (I had to stick with the 6 stud-wide interior for the 'convenience' of the passengers. ) Thanks Darth Jar Jar! Actually I could have positioned the pilot cockpit piece either way, but I chose that position to achieve a continuous sloping position at the back (as you could see in this ref. pic) It was actually ThatGuyWithTheBricks who won, but sadly, he was banned from EB (for reasons I don't know).
  3. Looks great! Definitely much better than the TLG' BARCs. The multiple bar-build of the front is true to the real BARC. The only thing I could suggest is if you could replace the 2 x 3 slope at the back with two 1 x 3 curved slopes. Other than that and the 'problematic' front intake, good job on this brickbuilder!
  4. Jedi Padawan Zerb Stratlind versus Jedi Youngling Hans Olo Round 3 Zerb Stratlind | 4______________________Hans Olo | 4 Mid - 0______________________________Parry - 0 Kick - 0______________________________Low - 1 High - 0_____________________________Mid - 1 Low - 0_____________________________ Low - 0 Mid - 0______________________________ Parry - 0 Health: 2____________________________Health: 4 "C'mon youngling, let's end this right now", Yoda's padawan Zerb blurts out as he immediately goes on the offensive and swings his lightsaber on Hans' torso, but the youngling was quick to deflect with his lightsaber. Zerb then tries to kick his opponent, however Hans ducks and swings his lightsaber on the padawan's legs, dealing a painful blow. Despite being hurt, Zerb manages to hurl himself in the air and attempts to hit Hans on the head, but the youngling rightfully read his rival's move and slices Zerb in the stomach. Both duelists then try to attack low only to cancel each other. The padawan attempts one last attack, but the youngling blocks as the final lightsaber clash could be heard all over, and the youngling finally smiling, "I got this one", Hans uttered. "You did well my friend, you did well", Zerb answers back, as both jedi bow to each other and then to master Yoda. Congratulations The Legonater! How's the taste of first sweet victory? Well fought Cornelius, you fought fair and square without using any force powers, Kudos to you for that! Hans is now a Jedi initiate and you may now choose a force ability for him. You may now update your character profiles accordingly.
  5. Ravenclaw Student Jin Chang versus Ravenclaw Student Philius Pylos ROUND 2 Jin Chang | 4________________________Philius Pylos | 5 Mid - 0_____________________________Mid - 0 Protego! - 0_________________________Mid - 0 Low - 0____________________________Protego! - 0 High - 1____________________________ Low - 0 Mid - 0_____________________________Protego! Health: 4___________________________Health: 4 After a rather uneventful opening round, both Ravenclaws open up the second round by casting spells directed to each other's body as sparks fly around due to the cancellation of both spells. Philius immediately follows up with another hex but Jin effectively counters with a Protego. Then Jin takes his turn on the offensive and aims at his rival's legs only to be blocked yet again. Determined to finally get on the scoreboard, Jin lets out a quick spell on Philius' head, leaving his fellow Ravenclaw dizzy. Sensing his opponent struggling to get back on his feet, Jin tries again to cast a spell towards his rival's torso, but Philius recovers just in time to deflect the attack. Jin Chang evens up the score heading into the decisive third round. Who shall finally gain his first duel victory? One thing is for sure, it'll be a Ravenclaw. Send in your Round 3 DS when ready.
  6. Thanks! I might actually try other Coruscant vehicles in the near future as I also like the hi-tech civilian nature of these vehicles. Why thank you my friend. Heed the advice of Master Yoda I will. Thanks.
  7. Thanks Skafte. I actually am also not a fan of those decals. <Darn those peeling stickers..> A better solution would have been painting the cockpit, but I wasn't ready to 'risk' yet that useful cockpit piece. I appreciate the kind words the Inventor. Uhmm, those strangely colored tan pieces are actually painted parts, that was the closest color match to TLG's tan available in our place. It does look weird but I just have to look at those uneven colors as a something of a 'wear-and-tear' surface effect of the real shuttlebus . I'm glad you liked it ceroknight. Those parts are purple, but due to my amateurish photography skills (bad lighting - too much glare/light I guess), and repeated photoshopping, the color turned to blue in the edited photos.
  8. Sadly, none. Yeah it was quite hard to pull that-off with current design, I just did what I could do to as much as apossible replicate the flange of the real shuttlebus.
  9. Yeah, it is the only feature of the shuttlebus. At least, there aren't any flick-fire missiles.
  10. Hey LuxorV, I just wanted to point out that you misspelled my name and entry name in the Entries list - it should be KielDaMan - Kielito Buu and not KeilDaMan - Keito Buu. Sorry for the strange sounding names. Thanks in advance for the correction.
  11. This is a pretty good MOC for your first one, Jake. I like how you built your droideka using your own design and not just modifying the previous versions. It looks good as it is, but I'm pretty sure it'll look even better if you follow Doc's suggestions. Welcome to EB BTW.
  12. Thanks Comm. Fox! I really made it a point to have a functional opening door hatch, that was one of the coolest feature of the shuttlebus I saw in the movie. "Zerb, my young padawan, making fun of your master, why do you? Put you on intense rigorous training, surely I will." -
  13. Yeah I think we'll get R8-B7, there's no reason why we won't get it. Though strangely enough, as badass as Mace is, this R8 has got to be one of the lamest astromechs they've shown in the CW series, as it only appeared briefly and quickly got destoyed by a Gundark in that episode. Heck, even Ahsoka's R7-A7 and Plo's brown astromech were sturdier and more competent. But I do agree, R8's color scheme is better than the starfighter itself.
  14. Not yet, still awaiting for your DS Prof. Flitwick. tin7 is waiting. DS sent for Round 1 vs. Skylar. You're up cralegoboy.
  15. Ravenclaw Practitioner Skylar Cisco versus Gryffindor Practitioner Ollivander Dippet ROUND 3 Skylar Cisco | 1________________________Ollivander Dippet | 3 Crucio! - 0____________________________ Expelliarmus! - 0 High - 0______________________________Protego! - 0 Protego! - 0___________________________Mid - 0 Low - 0______________________________Low - 0 Mid - 1______________________________ High - 0 Health: 1___________________________Health: 2 The last round of the intense duel between the two practitioners are drawing to a close, and both duelists sense it. Desperately hanging by a thread, Skylar launches an all-out attack, aggressively casting a powerful Crucio spell on his rival, but Ollivander adeptly counters with an equally-powerful Expelliarmus. Skylar continues his offensive, launching himself in mid-air and aiming at Ollivader's head but the Gryffindor blocks the attack with a Protego. Wanting to end the duel now, Ollivander casts a spell towards the Ravenclaw's body, only to be deflected by Skylar's shield. Both try to target each other on the legs, cancelling each other's moves. Knowing time is not on his side, Skylar attempts one last strike, aiming and hitting Ollivander's body, slamming the Gryffindor against the wall. But then Skylar, seemed to have drained himself already, fell unconscious on the floor, and the Ravenclaw was declared the winner of the Battle of the Practitioners. Winner: Ollivander Dippet! The Gryffindor Practitioner has successfully ended Skylar's winning streak. But this is definitely not the last we'll see off the Ravenclaw Practitioner, as he promises to be back stronger than ever. Very well fought and intense duel by both of you guys! Congratulations Commander Fox! You have finally dealt cralegoboy his first defeat. cralegoboy, you've done well too, no shame in losing your first duel. It was just the second round comeback of Ollivander that proved to be the turning point of the duel. You may now update your character profiles accordingly.
  16. After a series of MODs in my previous projects, I decided to create something original that has not yet been done in lego before. One of the more prominent background vehicles in the SW movies that has really caught my attention when I first saw it in RoTS, I'm proud to present to you, The Jedi Shuttlebus. The Jedi shuttlebus, also known as the Jedi shuttle or Senate shuttlebus or Senate speeder bus, was a model of airbus used on Coruscant during the final years of the Galactic Republic by members of the Galactice Senate and the Jedi Order. - Wookieepedia Different views: With passengers inside: The jedi are going into a li'l field trip... A closer look inside: The front can accomodate astromechs (Left) and the Pilot station at the back of the shuttlebus (Right) Opening door with platform How big is this thing? Technically, this shuttlebus is 48 studs long and 8 studs wide. The comparison photo below shows its relative size to other SW vehicles. I tried to be as accurate as possible with the right proportions, and I think it turned out pretty well. The Inspiration: The real Jedi Shuttlebus (as it appeared in this scene in RoTS). Link to Hi-res pics: KielDaMan's flickr page Behind the Scenes: This is my Post #2222. I've had this weird habit of commemorating my uniquely numbered posts. Well, that's it I hope you like it guys! C & C's are welcome! UP NEXT: Revisiting an old MOC (you just saw a glimpse of it above )
  17. Welcome to Eurobricks Barteck! Enjoy the site and see you around.
  18. "Oh I don't think so, this time you'll feel the wrath of Slytherin, baby boy." - Diana So who can adjudicate for us?
  19. "After my embarrassing defeat to newcomer and fellow Slytherin Carlos Peerce, I'm challenging the two other practitioners, Skylar Cisco or Ollivander Dippet, after your duel. I'm up for redemption." - Diana
  20. That's a nice entry oRRange! I love the custom helmet and arm plates that you did. The vig is also well-built and trully adds something 'extra' in the whole entry. Well, best of luck in the contest my friend.
  21. From what I can make out of your blurry photos, it seems that is a pretty decent attempt on a Kaskkyk-colored BARC speeder. I see you've used the design of the upcoming BARC as the base model. The mods you did in the front body with the triple bars true to the real BARC, but looks kinda 'gappy'. And I'm not so sure about that piece for the front air intake, I know that part of the BARC is difficult to achieve but maybe you could find other alternative parts for that. Overall, that is a good starting point and you could always improve it further.
  22. Ravenclaw Student Jin Chang versus Ravenclaw Student Philius Pylos ROUND 1 Jin Chang | 5________________________Philius Pylos | 5 High - 0____________________________Protego! - 0 Mid - 0_____________________________Mid - 0 Mid - 0_____________________________Protego! - 0 Protego! - 0_________________________ Low - 0 Low - 0_____________________________High - 1 Health: 4___________________________Health: 5 The Battle of the Ravenclaws begins! Both duelists cancel each other's attacks in the early goings of the duel with effective countering. But in the last sequence, Philius sees an opening and casts a powerful spell that hits Jin on his head. Philius comes out of the second round with a slight lead, but will Jin bounce back in the next round? Send in your DS when Ready.
  23. Argh! That has got to be my unluckiest round ever! Anyway, it couldn't have been a more perfect round for you CallMePie, congrats on your first win. Thanks CM for adjudicating.
  24. Jedi Padawan Zerb Stratlind versus Jedi Youngling Hans Olo Round 2 Zerb Stratlind | 5______________________Hans Olo | 5 High - 0_____________________________Parry - 0 High - 0_____________________________Mid - 1 Low - 0_____________________________Low - 0 Mid - 0_____________________________ Parry - 0 High - 1____________________________ Kick - 0 Health: 4____________________________Health: 4 After an uneventful opening round, the duel between the padawan and the youngling continues with Zerb starting the festivities with an aerial attack that the youngling effectively deflects with his lightsaber. Getting frustrated by the younger jedi, Zerb once again launches himself in the air attempting to strike from above but Hans read his rival's move and swings his saber onto Zerb's torso, dealing a painful blow. Then both duelists aims for a low lightsaber sweep only to cancel each other out. Aggressive from the start, Zerb continues his all-out attack and targets Hans' body which the youngling immediately blocks. Seeing the padawan slowly tiring, Hans tries to kick his opponent but miscalculates as Zerb sommersaults into the air and hits the youngling on the head. Both jedi are trying to catch their breath as the end of the duel draws near... Exciting round yet again, as both duelists come out tied once more. Who will reign triumphant in this duel? Let's find out in the third and final(?) round. Send in your DS when ready.
