  1. The title got me there, and I agree it could've been better worded, but oh well... Regarding the MOC, I like the way you built it, the conveyor belt showing the pre- and post- chromed parts is quite cleverly done. As far as the concept behind it is concerned, even if I know TLG is in no way anti-marine life, your build does reflect some real-world issues concerning marine life. (I, for one, am not in favor of marine animal cruelty that exist in our world like sharkfin/tail delicacies, using whales/dolphins/seals for entertainment, etc., but that is something to be discussed on another topic/forum).
  2. Great entry Yatkuu! I agree with Sandy, this is something that I could very well see on toy store shelves, as it got the necessary elements of a standard LEGO set - hero and villain vehicles, a large brickbuilt monster, and a rich minifig line-up. I really like this entry a lot and I hope you do well in the competition.
  3. Very nice rendition of this comic book scene Dreamweb! I understand the plainness of the background, because it's supposed to be that way and the main highlight are the characters, and of course the circling flames is very true to the scene. Well done!
  4. Your recent batch of customs are great as usual The Penguin! Among these I particularly like the Russian clown the best.
  5. Normally people use at two white boards, one horizontal and one vertical backdrop, that's what I personally use. An all-white sheet/cloth is also a good alternative. Trust me, using a white background will improve your presentation significantly. Hi xecom, My reminder to everyone was meant with good intentions so pls. don't take it the wrong way. We're just trying to make the whole forum as matured-looking as possible. I'm actually a bit lenient with regards to this (I don't mind grammatical errors for those who don't speak English as their first language), but if I see other people with too glaring capitalization and punctuation issues on their posts, I remind them. I think the basics are: - Capitalize beginning of sentences. - "I" should be capitalized (not "i") - Put a period (or the appropriate punctuation mark) at the end of sentences, and commas (,) for pauses in long sentences. - Proper names should be capitalized too. And I'd stop there before this becomes an English tutorial. I hope you understand where we're coming from and we're only doing this to give you a forum that's enjoyable to read.
  6. Excellent review TheBrickster! This really gave me a better appreciation of this much anticipated PoTC set. This might be the non-pirate fan in me speaking, but I do think it's a visually-pleasing set that is really great for display purposes, not to mention the very nice selection of new minifigs. This has been on my buy-list right from the very start, and my decision still hasn't change. If there will be a first Pirate ship that I'll ever own, I'm glad it's going to be this one.
  7. Very classy. One more retaliatory sarcastic comment like that and you'll find yourself being the indirect cause of the closure of this thread. Let's keep this thread clean guys, no need for such off-topic (with previous bad history), argument-inviting comments here. Don't spoil the fun people are having here. Thanks.
  8. Yet another excellent theme crossover of the SW characters Oky! I thought you'll run out of ideas after the highly-successful Toy Wars and Hog Wars, but it seems you still have some 'tricks off your sleeves' eh? All of them look really 'Steampunk-y', though I think you did the best on Vader, 3PO, and Boba, probably because they had the most 'revisions' as opposed to the human characters (Luke, Han, Leia). Great job as always!
  9. <A round of virtual standing ovation to everybody> Fantastic game guys! Congratulations to all the winners! It sure has been a great pleasure watching from the sidelines Mafia "All-Stars" burn the hell out of each other. My hats off to Hinck too for a superb job at hosting this game. His wonderfully hilarious story-telling alone makes up for half of the total entertainment of this game. I'm looking forward playing with you guys in future mafia games. EDIT: Oh, I forgot to mention, special congrats to the "Comeback player of the Game" - Stash! That was totally unexpected!
  10. The vehicles can be made completely out of one's imagination.
  11. Lovely review Fangy! For a $20 set I think this is a not a bad deal at all considering you'll get 4 new figs and a bunch of new and old parts as well. It's a "4" for me too.
  12. I love the lighting of this mini museum vig. Nicely done Adrian!
  13. This is a very good idea Alopex, thanks for taking the time and effort to do this unofficial handbook of mafia roles. I think this will be very useful to future mafia students and even current mafia players as well. I sure learned some interesting new stuff here, like the concept of Lovers. Although I do agree with Draggy that variations in roles widely exist, so what you've put in this handbook may be varied from game to game. Still, keep updating this further, nice work so far!
  14. Indeed a very interesting find, thanks for sharing this DLuders! It looks to be a very good reference material for all aspiring minifig customizers, I might have to grab one of these to hone my skills in this craft.
  15. Very well done modular apartment Vincent! I love the conservative but beautiful external design, and the interiors have a genuine 'homey' fell into it. Good job!
  16. Wow, my sincerest congratulations on this wonderful creation SF! This is simply the perfect brickbuilt rendition St. Basil's Cathedral - from the colors, details, and overall design. Your other builds are equally-impressive too. My hats off to you Sir!
  17. My mouth is literally agape when I was browsing through the photos of this magnificent creation. It's truly enjoyable to look at every inch of detail this lovely Arc. Simply a marvelous job jaredchan! On a side note, the level of building expertise you AFOLs have there in HK is simply impressive. I've seen your work here in EB, as well as andybear's and alanboar's, and I must say you're all really very talented builders.
  18. The detailing of this truck is simply impressive! I like how you took the challenge of brick-building the logo instead of the easy sticker solution - that's truly a testament of your expert building skills. I also love the build of the long-nose truck - very unique, unconventional, but very beautiful. Another excellent mini Model Team creation Lasse!
  19. Excellent photo effects Linko! I must agree the last one is beautifully-done. @Bane: 'Love those clone shots.
  20. Very nice pretty little vig HeLena! I agree the simple but effective hand-sketch of the painting is a very neat detail. Well done!
  21. Wow that is one amazing build! It sure does look you're still a long ways to full completion, so good luck on this ambitious re-creation project!
  22. Mightily impressive creation lego-maniac! The modular function is a pretty ingenious idea that would certainly be a welcome concept for possible future sets. The build of this temple is simply majestic that it really makes for an excellent diorama display. Kudos for this wonderful build!
  23. Of course I do! I simply love the various details featuring lots of unique parts usage. Both the flying machine and tank are very convincing prototype inventions too. Great job overall Diidy!
  24. Hi hardcorowy, That is a nice starting model for your entry in this contest. However, may I suggest that you try to take the photos of your entry against a white background, even if it's just improvised (white board or white paper will do). The random things at the background is a bit distracting and takes away some presentation points. Since this is still a WIP, you could still cover up this deficiency. Nope, the rules clearly state: So it doesn't mean that entries must have custom characters, existing characters are just ok. And also may I remind everybody to please kindly observe proper capitalization and punctuation when posting. Not doing so will just make you look like a kid in this AFOL forum. Thanks.
