I've been itching to build a Steampunk MOC ever since I've acquired a large amount of brown bricks... And yes, this is my first Steampunk MOC MikroMan humbly presents Tri-Cannon Eradicator, Steampunk edition: The frontal Eradicator view, with Dr. Sinister behind the controls. Side view. Back view, exhausts. C&Cs welcome

So typical, I'm going through Vienna 4 days earlier -
Another BL order... My wallet hurts. Thankfully, I also shipped out two sets, so a little more shelf space I'm currently in the process of sorting and checking 1500+ parts that came via mail today.

Mosaic : The Hobbit, there and back again
MikroMan replied to DanSto's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That's true, but it doesn't mean he did anything wrong... IMO, the silhouettes were photographed/manipulated well enough that it's obvious these are different dwarfs... This. -
Mosaic : The Hobbit, there and back again
MikroMan replied to DanSto's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well, the sub-title is actually the book's subtitle, which encompasses all three movies, so it's okay, I guess. And what do you mena by ''a lot of Gimlis''? I think it's pretty clear that the figures represent Gandlas + 13 dwarfs + a hobbit... On-topic, DanSto, awesome mosaic -
Nice, I was just thinking today that I might try to build a Diablo MOC as I was playing...

+1 for adreva11 -
Love it, but I'd do the blue/white cables with hinge finger plates (the old hinges), which would allow for a nice curve.

Artemis Fowl was the first graphic novel I've read, but I hadn't (yet) read the Supernaturalist graphic novel. Some portrayals of characters suprpised me a bit, but it was stiil a nice read. intend to read the And Another Thing, as soon as I'm done rereading the complete Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy. I've been meaning to read some of Gaiman's work for some time now, even have the on my Kindle, but they'll have to wait till I read at least a couple of Pratchett's books. I've read The Supernaturalist and also Colfer's Artemis Fowl series. While Artemis Fowl is YA fiction, I found it rather funny and great for some lighthearted reading. And I can only agree that Supernaturalist is superb.

Well, the tiles, plates bricks, etc. have sharp cornes as well, so I hope they don't start making them rounded Anyway, I agree, old finger hinges were much nicer and easier to use due to less bulkiness.

People destroying LEGO displays :(

The nerve of some people... And such a beautiful model it was -
So, we have topics for movies, concerts, etc., why not have one for books? DIscuss your favourite books, genres, what you're currently reading, e-reader vs. physical book preference... I'm an avid fantasy and sci-fi reader (plus some historical fiction/non-fiction) and I'd rather sit down with a book than watch TV all evening. I just started reading Terry Pratchett's DIscworld books and they're hilarious, especially if you can catch his references. I'm also a recent Kindle convert, and am really enjoying not having to lug around an extra bag of books on holidays (no sapient pearwood around here ). However, i still buy physical books for my personal collection. My recent acquisitions include a boxed set of Tolkien's works in large format with beautiful illustrations and annotations in Hobbit So, that's about me, now it's your turn

Great, now you only need to build it

I too collect catalogues, posters, postcards and some interesting set instructions. For osters, I'd advise 1200 px by X px, as this is the usual minimum requirement for printing A3 posters in my local shops. Bigger is of course better, especially if the bandwidth is not a problem. BTW, if you have any pieces extra you'd be willing to trade you can PM me

Inside Kaliphlin Day 9 -- The Triumphal Arch of Petraea

NIcely done, very eastern look! -
The exra parts are just that: extras. They are usually small-ish pieces, like 1x1 plates, cheese slopes, bars, arms..., that often get lost or misplaced. They add a couple of them so you can replace them and enjoy a complete model. Anyway, good luck in your endeavour. Believe me, the final result will be worth it

An 8x12 studs MOC vignette, featuring CMF Native American and a clueless researcher. While mapping the land, our brave researcher has become rather lost. However, he is unaware of the tribal hunter hiding in wait behind the bushes. What are his intentions, will he capture him, kill him or perhaps demand a shipment of Firewater? Base without the minifigures. C&C welcome!

While waiting for my orders to arrive I threw together a simplistic vignette for CMF Street Skater minifigure. I wanted to create a full skate park, but I was somewhat short on 2x2 dark and light bley tiles.
