  1. Yay! I think that I was on at that time (but I probably wasn't). Now lets try to get to 2,000 (or at least 1,500)!
  2. I also got a Squidman Escape set today at a local Target, and I have to say, Squidman looks much cooler in person than in pictures. The sets is great, too, except for the fact that there are stickers. They're all transparent (except for the black "police" stickers), and unfortunately I got a piece of lint stuck in one of the stickers. That's one reason why I hate transparent stickers.
  3. It was at Comic-Con '09. They're practically just advertisements for the Holo-Brick Archives that are going up on starwars.lego.com soon. Here is the site (it's currently a WIP): http://starwars.lego.com/en-US/holobrick/default.aspx Thanks to CaptainRex110 for posting the link first.
  4. Wow, these new products are great! I'm glad that the Vintage Minifigure Collections are being continued; I don't buy them, but it's nice to see them being made. The Pirates battle pack is great, too. Now I have to decide which one to get (the battle pack, or the tic-tac-toe set). But I can see how huge Pirates fans won't like it, since it includes an admiral and Captain Brickbeard, which doesn't really make it a "battle pack". The Pirate ship coin bank is cool, but it's made of cardboard. It does look nice, though. And computerbug, it looks like it has a trans-light blue squid. The regular coin bank is nothing special, but still looks nice. Those chrome gold 4 x 4 bricks look amazing. I don't know why LEGO would say that they aren't going to have that many chrome items since they cost too much to make, then decide to make lots of chrome items for this year.
  5. I wouldn't recommend buying Gold Heist. It's really skeletal, and Frenzy has almost no color. You can also read reviews of some of the sets to help you decide on what to get: Gold Heist - Second Review Hyperspeed Pursuit Robo Attack - Second Review If you can, I would get Robo Attack and Hyperspeed Pursuit. If you can only get one larger set and one of the medium sized sets, I would go for either Robo Attack or Hyperspeed Pursuit, and Space Truck Getaway. I hope you can decide on what to get, and happy early birthday!
  6. Wow, this tic-tac-toe set is much better than the City and Castle ones (except for the fact that there's no chrome silver swords :pir_tongue: )! I'll definitely be getting one of these (I'm not a huge Pirates fan, but I do still like it), since almost all of the minifigures are new to me. I'm guessing that this one will cost around $20 USD (the City and Castle ones were $15 USD, and they had no variety)?
  7. Great review, def! I agree with everyone before me; there are two great, exclusive minifigs, it seems pretty small (but looks cool), and it has an ingenious double sliding door. I also like the inclusion of two battle droids and one battle droid pilot. LEGO could have just put one "droid pilot" like the one that was in the Droid Gunship (just a regular battle droid with two straight arms), but it's great to see that they decided to put three, with one hard-to-find droid pilot with a blue torso (previously only found in the MTT). The shape of the ship is great, too. I, like Svelte, tend to like smaller and sturdier models much better than huge, weak, and not-to-scale sets. Nice "funny pic", too!
  8. Wow, that looks pretty good so far. I can't wait to see it when it's finished! I don't really understand what you're trying to say. Can you post a picture?
  9. Thanks for the news, Erdbeereis! Hopefully the Targets near me (there's two that are almost the same distance away ) will have those sets. However, I'm probably going to get Echo Base (I don't want the other sets) at a LEGO Store, so I can get a loyalty stamp. The Pirate Tank is a great deal, though. $40 for a 372 piece set that includes two exclusive, back torso and head printed minifigures and one hard to find minifigure is a great deal (I thought it was going to cost $50 USD).
  10. That sounds pretty cool. I would love to see every LEGO Star Wars set ever released on the LEGO's official website. Thanks for the picture!
  11. Happy birthday Joey! I hope you get lots of random LEGO Pirates stuff (like purplecoats ).
  12. You'll just need a cockpit that's three studs long instead of 2! You'll also need a longer chair (one with four studs). But anyways, I don't want the long legs to be used in other themes. It's going to make everything look so weird, since some people in Star Wars are actually much taller than the minifig form, like CW Anakin compared to Ahsoka (look at this picture). It would make everything so weird.
  13. On this thread, I see an advertisement for this thing called "Ad Ready". I think the ads on Eurobricks are fine. However, the ones on Brickshelf are sometimes really weird. I keep seeing this advertisement that says the website's name (I won't post it) and "a resource & social networking site for lesbian moms, gay dads,& kids".
  14. Yeah, at least they look much better. It even looks like some parts are printed (the windshield)! By the way, isn't this only for McDonalds in Germany?
  15. In the article about the LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary (thanks to DarthSion for telling us about this ), a LEGO art designer (Rob Johnson) said that "more Expanded Universe sets — like the Rogue Shadow from The Force Unleashed – were a possibility." So there might be more TFU sets in the future. I voted yes for both, even though I barely know anything about TFU.
  16. Thanks for PMing me, ADHO15! If I forget to send a PM before August 3, can you remind me with another one? And August 3rd seems far away...
  17. Seeing things like that really annoy me (but I keep it to myself ). I agree. They probably have some plastic tabs, like the chrome Darth Vader display box thingy that was given out at the New York 2009 Toy Fair.
  18. Wow, those are actually sort of brick-built (unlike the General Mills LEGO promotional cars)! Nice find, by the way.
  19. No, he stole it from Sean Kinney. Happy birthday guys! I hope you get lots of good stuff!
  20. I just wish that TLG would sell them as a product, like how they're selling the chrome stormtrooper for $10. I wouldn't want to waste my time and money buying a $40 scale (more than the chrome Vader is worth right now!) and going to over 25 stores just to find one or two chrome Vaders. You also have to pay $10 per box, so you have to find at least three chrome Vaders before it's worth it. But won't it take hours to find just one? Also, it seems like you're just ripping off TLG.
  21. Ah, thanks for this info, DarthSion! That was an interesting ariticle, and I really like that video. It shows how thick the book is! The Luke Skywalker included is a great bonus to me, since I don't have any Lukes so far, and this is an exclusive minifigure. Now, if only it came with a chrome silver lightsaber hilt...
  22. Great review! I would recommend resizing these pictures, but other than that, your review is really detailed (but most pictures are fuzzy). I like how there are lots of accessories, but that's probably all I like about this set. I don't like all of the vehicles that are included in this set, except for Squidman's vehicle. They all look like they were just made in ten minutes, and were added to try to increase the piece count (which is still low) and to make the set cost at least $10 USD more (this would probably be a $40 set without the vehicles). I also hate the random pieces all over the pitstop. It looks like the designer just grabbed some random special bricks near him/her and put them together to make a wall. I voted average for this set, since it does look pretty good overall. I voted no for "Would you buy this set with a coupon/sale or if it was cheaper?" since I would rather save my money for LEGO Star Wars sets and stuff. But if I liked Space Police, I would definitely buy this, even if it wasn't on sale.
  23. I like the display cases, but I don't like the price of the exclusive Brickmaster Comic Con set. The AT-TE mini and Republic Gunship mini are worth about $6 each, so that means that you're practically paying $38 for the box and printed instructions. I wonder how much the box and instructions will sell for on BrickLink...
  24. I checked two other Targets near me today, and they did have some good deals (but I didn't get any). The first Target I went to had lots of Indy sets and the City Crawler Crane, clearanced at around $10 off each. The other Target had an opened Dwarves' Mine, a smashed Jungle Cutter, a Crawler Crane, and a Troll Warship, all 30% off. It seems like all Targets are having random sales that don't really relate to one another.
  25. I don't think LEGO would make new molds; they would probably just fix the problem without any changes to the look of the remote. If they did make new molds, these current ones would be worth a lot in the future (and doesn't it cost a lot to make a mold?). Your birthday is on May 18? Mine is too. By the way, I know that there was a Duplo truck recall, but what was the other one (someone said that there were two other recalls)? I also really like how LEGO recalls a product even if there is just a small problem (like this one) and how they recall the product as soon as possible (only 4 people reported it overheating).
