This has got to be one of the best Star Wars minifigs out there! One thing I'd also like to point out is that this will not be the next chrome minifig because this was not packaged in any special box of the sort, just a polybag. Remember last year's special chrome Vader box with all his quotes? And another photo, this time from BS01 Cholie: EDIT: Oh, and the first white Boba Fett was sold a few days ago on eBay (thanks to Skyward72 for finding that and posting about it on FBTB) for $100 with the minifig book. Not that expensive considering there's only 150 (official ones) in the world!

Some people in the US found 30050 Republic Attack Shuttle and 30051 X-wing at Target, according to this Brickset article: Can anyone confirm this? The comments have been about 50/50 (found/not found) in the Brickset post. A bit early for Easter stuff to be out already, but great nevertheless! It's not 442 pieces. TLG always uses either XXX or "442" as the piece count if it's undetermined.

Do you mean the baby green Norbert? Because I don't see any egg. And I think that the Power Functions light brick is in the fireplace. See the red Technic thing here: You probably push it to turn on the light in the fireplace.

Thanks for the pics of the two new magnet sets! I'm glad that the Endor magnet set includes Paploo instead of the other two Ewoks. Paploo was my least favorite minifig out of all three Ewoks, so it makes me feel glad that the rarer Ewoks are the ones I like! The other magnet set is a weird combination. Palpatine plus the two coveted minifigs from the Separatist Shuttle? Why not Papatine and two Senate Commandos? The fact that the prices of these minifigs will be driven down all the way from $10-$20 to $4-$5 (USD) doesn't really bother me at all, but what does is that now BrickLink will be scattered with lower quality and normal quality minifigs, and you won't be able to know what type you're buying. EDIT: Oh, and for the ones who don't like the new Boba Fett torso, you could always try using the new helmet, jetpack and cape on the old Boba Fett torso.
-
I agree on that statement. I don't think that we even need a helmet attaching feature if it takes up the whole interior. You can just place the helmet on by yourself! Also, we're getting Slave I pics! The minifigs look even better, and hopefully we'll see some videos soon of all these sets' play features. EDIT: Clone Turbo Tank pics from FBTB!

FBTB is the best (aside from Eurobricks )! Lots and lots of notable things scattered throughout the series! Printed owls, printed sorting hat, elaborately detailed minifigs, printed newspapers/things on 2 x 2 tiles, new hair pieces, updated dementors (I love the tattered capes!), and much, much more! Professor Flitwick looks hilarious. EDIT: Removed Flitwick pic (someone already posted it)

Actually, the printed Senate Commando is a Senate Commando captain named Captain Jayfon. Here's what he looked in the CW series (he got killed right at the beginning of the show): I'll definitely be getting this set. A cheaper way to get a Senate Commando, Cad Bane, that Weequay bounty hunter and that awesome new Senate Commando captain! Also, thanks for finding those minifig shots Oky Wan! Cad Bane and Grievous look great! By the way, the white Boba Fett is apparently a freebie given to VIPs attending Toy Fair (like Joe Meno of Brickjournal or the guys at FBTB). (An autographed Buzz Lightyear Cube Dude was also given)

Yay, Toy Fair pics! I must say, all the minifigs look stunning! The medical droid's torso looks very cool, but hopefully it isn't hollow on the back like super battle droids. I like how Anakin comes with one black arm and one medium flesh arm. Great attention to detail! The "zombie pilot" looks really funny without his helmet on. I love how Grievous has printed arms! Hopefully there'll also be a head on shot of him later on. EV-A4-D looks a bit odd at this angle. His head's too large, and his torso has lots of hollow spaces! R7-F5's Clone Wars style printing looks great! I like the combination of dark red and white. I'm not so sure on the wampa. He has awesome details like the fur and printed claws, but I don't like how he has so many hollow spots (inside of arms, inside of hands). Perhaps the hollow hands are for a play feature similar to the giant rock monsters? EDIT: It looks like the wampa can hold minifigs in its hands! Excellent printing on Aayla's attachable headpiece! Boba Fett looks spectacular! Two different guns, a more accurate contoured helmet, antenna piece to attach onto the helmet, separate sand green jetpack, small tattered cape, what more could you ask for? Well, aside of course arm and leg printing. Bossk has a great head mold! I like how his slightly opened mouth is printed. Carbonite Han looks very detailed. Really cool how he just out of the mold, and I like the printed control panels on the sides! Han Solo himself doesn't look that good to me, but it was about time that he got an updated head!

I remember seeing this on TBB (blog post). Truly amazing, especially with the enormous amounts of foliage! The bunker itself is very detailed too, and I really like the interior!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion

I also agree that it's interesting how people are getting these so early. There's over four months left before their scheduled release! Ooh, that one looks like it can actually attach onto a clip piece without being compressed by the clip (one example is the bow and arrow in 8038 The Battle of Endor)! -

Great to know that the minifigs will be of normal quality! The rock monster "rock" printing is pretty bad though. If you own 8908 Monster Launcher and use the catapult a couple of times on a hard surface, the printing scratches off slightly on the sharper corners. Then if you scratch that part very lightly, more printing comes off! I've had the same problem with one of Squidman's eyes. Now one of his eyes aren't round anymore! Interesting, but I think that that deserves its own topic, as it doesn't have anything to do the these collectible minifigs. -
Happy birthday Svelte! I hope you're having a great day. Also, awesome cake you got there!

Thanks for the pictures BlueDragonZ! Both sets seem to have made a gigantic improvement from the preliminary pics we saw a while ago. What's interesting though is the price to parts ratios. On TRU the Trash Compactor set is $70 CAD, but there are only 370 pieces! The same with Western Train Chase: $110 CAD for 584 pieces! Hopefully that is just TRU's overpricing at work. Another interesting thing is that Hamm with the bowler hat in Western Train Chase is called "Evil Doctor Porkchops" in the TRU description. Perhaps something takes control of Hamm in Toy Story 3? Awesome, thanks for the link! The CTT looks much smaller than I expected, and there's lots of yellow pieces and exposed technic beams/bricks on the interior. However, the outside looks very detailed, and the AT-RT is fantastic! It looks excellent for an official model. And it does look like there's a handle (it's jutting out of the top in the pic ) on the CTT so it can attach to the Republic Dropship set! Not sure if it's worth $120 USD, but I'll wait for more pics before making a judgement. The Hoth Wampa Cave looks spectacular! It'll be a chance for me to get my first snowspeeder, and a Hoth Luke (who has new torso and head printing)! Plus, the Wampa looks great! The gaps on the inner parts of its arms are a bit annoying, though. I also don't like how Zev Senesca is in this set as well as the battle pack. It would have been better to get a different head at least. For a $40 USD set, it doesn't seem all that bad. But overall, these two sets looks great! And five more days until clearer pics!

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars

Yay, another LEGO game! I really enjoy playing Traveller's Tales' games, so I bet that this will be a blast! Can't wait for more details. -
Happy birthday mutley! It's always great seeing pics of your gigantic amassment of MISB sets. Hope you had a wonderful day! Wow! I hope you have fun building the whole first wave (minus Luke's Landspeeder)!

Happy birthday Oky Wan! I hope your special day was filled with lots of fun and family!

Wow, this is really cool! I can even see Speed Racer sets inside "The Big Shop"! Great find! -
Thanks for the pics Brick Town Talk! It looks even better now! Lots of new pieces/colors, like the dark green windows, new arch pieces, quarter curved slope pieces, the return of those gigantic windshields (never knew that piece existed until now!), a whole bunch of 1 x 3 light bley tiles on the roof, trans-clear headlight bricks (who'd've thought that we'd get them in a trans color!) and much more! The top two floors are a bit empty with only 2/3 tables, but the highly detailed ground floor and the size of the building (it takes up the whole baseplate, unlike Fire Brigade and Green Grocer, which have a backyard). It's really cool how Jamie and the other designers (if there are any) added some great details like the mannequins (great how they come with smiley face heads instead of blank ones!), the chandelier (although I wouldn't place it on the toy section of the building ), and the billboard (the minifig head is simple but effective!). I also love how one of the minifigs has a pair of blue jeans and "underwear" so he can "change". They've been in sets since the summer 2009 wave.

I think the main way we communicate through to TLG is by answering the polls they put out every once in a while and by making comments in the Embassy section of the forum, where LEGO Ambassadors (like CopMike) compile our comments and send the main ideas to TLG. Also, Jamie Berard (the designer of modular buildings and other fantastic sets) is a member, so he might be reading our comments.

I did a couple screengrabs of the video (thanks for the link Christian!): http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/ILikePi/...screengrabs.jpg The picture is a bit big, so I'm not going to deeplink it. Enjoy!

That seems to be a reversed image of the UK Toy Fair picture (look at the reversed watermark on the bottom right and the word "LEGO" reversed on the top right). Great find! Now we can see the whole game more easily.

Parts you have an unaccountable fondness for?
ILikePi replied to Svelte's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Here's part of my list of parts that I like very much but that aren't universally acclaimed: Chain I always wonder how TLG manages to mold the chain links together without having them stick to each other when the plastic is still liquid. Large flame I love how this piece is marbled from trans-red to trans-yellow! Also, it has a great shape. Temple of the Crystal Skull raised baseplate I like how there are lots of pits and different elevations on this baseplate! It provides lots of MOCing ideas, for example, brickzone's Agents HQ. Flick-fire missile I don't really understand why people hate this so much. It gives lots of extra playability, and you don't have to fire it if you don't want to! They've also been used as non-FFM related things, like the left guns of the AT-ST and Chief Chirpa's staff. I like how there are now two colors of FFM pieces, too (see above for the red version)! Hopefully that'll lead to more colors in the future. There's probably even more things that I find spectacular, but I'll leave my list like this for now. EDITed on 2/8/10 because I just noticed that Svelte said "parts that are not universally loved". Oops! -
Congratulations Big Cam! You're now the first actual Grand Duke.
