I love the idea of a purple building! This looks like it's going to be very impressive. I can't wait for the final product! By the way, great use of cheese cubes for the decoration on the wall of the building!

In the "Talk to the Star Wars Moderators and Regulators" thread, he says that he has a different Star Wars tag because he can have a different one.

Dano uploaded pics of the larger sets that have been removed from that Russian LEGO retailer: I can't wait for reviews of these sets to sprout! Almost every set is abundant in new colors/pieces/printings.
-
Ooh, thanks for the comparison pic! It really shows how small the Republic Swamp Speeder is when compared to the other two sets. However, I can bet that Barriss will be worth a ton in the future, so maybe the set isn't such a bad investment!

Review 8191 Lavatraz
ILikePi replied to BrickBob Studpants's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for this great review Lego-Freak! This looks like an excellent set! Eruptorr is amazingly detailed, and I just love the funny gimmicks in Power Miners sets (vending machine ). But the annoying thing is the addition of a Thornax launcher (or whatever it's called) in this set. It doesn't fit well here - I'd like it if TLG keeps those specialty parts in the Bioncile based sets only (that means Hero Factory and any other future themes). But anyways, this set looks very intriguing if it does turn out to cost $40 USD. EDIT: Great pic of the whole rock monster cast, too! -
Be patient, it's not like KimT knows everything (but he does know almost everything ).If there isn't any news on something, then there probably isn't any news on something. Someone who saw a new thing wouldn't just wait until someone else asks before posting the thing he/she saw! And anyways, we'll see final (or close to final) designs for the sets at the annual New York Toy Fair in February 14-17.

Another spectacular review, starstreak! This set didn't look at all appealing before reading your review, but it looks pretty interesting now with your high-quality photos! However, it is not worth $50 IMO. It looks way too bare and simple (just 6 thin wings and a cockpit). I think it should've been $30-$40, since there aren't any special parts other than the TIE pilot's helmet. By the way, at the last link to your Flickr gallery, you said "8087 TIE Fighter" instead of "Defender". belltower really messed up on inventorying this set. He also listed that there were 9 black Technic pins without friction ridges when they do have friction ridges (black Technic pins without friction ridges don't exist)!

Wow! That's incredible! I would love to see instructions of that! Now I need to think of something to make with my battle packs. Any suggestions?
-
Ooh, these look great! Thanks for the find whung! It looks like the prices of the trans-red and trans-dark blue rings are going to go down a bit on BrickLink. Unfortunately it doesn't look like so - usually on the instructions it says "sign up for the LEGO Club using source code EAS10" or something like that. But it does look like the Star Wars minis are the US Easter Target sets!
-
Wow, thanks for that, whung! They look amazing for mini sets. And they're in the 300XX range (and not the 200XX one), which means that they're regular mini sets and not BrickMaster sets. And it also says "use source code EAS10" when signing up for the LEGO Club on the US version of the instructions for the X-wing, which means that they're Easter mini sets at Targets in the US! The flick-fire missile pieces work very well on the X-wing, and it's a great way to stock up on them with these sets, too! There's eight in each! That mini Republic Attack Shuttle is way too awesome. It's very accurate and just too cool.

Ooh, I can't wait for it! Your review on Buzz's Star Command Spaceship was very well written and detailed. And your first Wal-Mart purchase? (Well, I rarely buy LEGO from any store other than LEGO Stores ever since I discovered them )

I just finished downloading every single 2010 City set instruction booklet they had at LEGO Customer Service.

While I do prefer the "straight" torsos (because having more "defined" lines look better to me, and because the rounded one s look like they're worn down), they're far too unnoticeable for me to care. So I voted exactly that!
-
No, they aren't. My 8014 Clone Walker Battle Pack came with three looking one way, and one looking the other way (no "normal" heads). Just because you own a copy of the set doesn't mean that all the other ones are like yours.

Hey there everyone! I was just checking YouTube when I noticed that TLG uploaded two series of LEGO Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated comics! They're similar to the web versions on starwars.LEGO.com, but these actually have narrators, and the droids and clones talk! They're also much more entertaining. I've deeplinked the first two videos here and will do the same for the next ones, if there are any more. Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing! It's always interesting to see videos about how LEGO is made. Ooh, more videos to enjoy watching - thanks for linking to them!

I only use one brick separator. You just put it on the top plate, hold the bottom plate, and move both hands inward while keeping a grip on the bottom plate. No need for two brick separators!

I've uploaded the files to that site, thanks for the link (you don't need to talk to the other staff now Svelte)!Everyone, feel free to download from the links below (they'll be available for five days - the files will be gone on January 11, 2010 at around 5:45 PM, Pacific Standard Time). Mini model instructions - 20 MB Holiday poster - 2 MB (silly me for not putting everything into one file )
-
Aww, that's too bad. Lets see...15 PDFs, 22.5 MB total. Is that too much space? EDIT: There's one more file - it's a wallpaper which takes up 2 MB (so it's 16 PDFs and 24.5 MB). I'm really bad at categorizing stuff.
-
He doesn't mean the Winter Toy Shop, he means the instructions for the holiday related mini models. I'll upload the files (I saved every single one they had) to Brickshelf right now and will edit this post with the links to each PDF file. EDIT: Hmm, uploading PDFs to Brickshelf doesn't work for me. Does anyone know how to do so?
-
Thanks for posting that Oky Wan! I was drooling a bit too, it's just too hard to resist just looking at all those bricks there. It's also interesting that the stop-motion LEGO Space Police logs aren't produced on a professional studio, but instead just inside a bedroom! The picture quality of the logs are just so good.

Yes, I have! The plastic sticker type with the cereal box tabs are my favorite. They can be stored easily (just cut the flaps on both sides to flatten) and also can be closed. The thumb-punch one is just OK. Not as good as the cereal box one though, since you can't flatten the box. The opening box lid type might be good for seeing what you get, but it's got to be the worst in the long run. You can't really flatten the box, and the two flaps on the side always tear when opening the set for the first time. One weird thing to note is that some sets have box variants. For example, I own a Cannon Battle set that was purchased from a LEGO Store in January. It had a thumb punch box. However, a few months later, I saw the same set at Target, but with a plastic sticker type of box (no cereal box flaps)! EDIT: Fixed two typos

Star Wars The Clone Wars Season 2 Discussion
ILikePi replied to DarthSion's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I just finished watching the two episodes on watchtheclonewars.com a couple of minutes ago, and they were good! It was a bit disappointing to see Grievous running away and escaping so many times, but it was great to see more commando droid action. The part where Rex and the deserter took down all 20 commando droids was awesome! Really actiony, if that's a real word. Also, it was interesting to see the Dejarik board game being played as I have never seen it before. -
ASK HERE How to clean your LEGO sets/parts?
ILikePi replied to jngunsw's topic in General LEGO Discussion
You should check out Eilif's Bargain Hunter's Guide to LEGO. He talks about how to find some cheap used LEGO, and how to clean it too! I highly recommend reading his article is it is very interesting. -
Here's a direct link to the product (it took me a couple of minutes to find, so I'm guessing that others are having difficulties as well). It sounds interesting - and it's a cheaper another way to get Cad Bane! According to the site, the price is 655 ZAR, which (according to XE.com) is about...88 USD. It must be a pretty large speeder then. EDIT: Based on the prices of other sets, it seems to be about 50 USD.
