  1. Atamaii has a three minute video of the LEGO Star Wars sets that were displayed at the 2010 New York Toy Fair: Not really anything that we haven't seen before, but there are a few close-ups on some stuff. Enjoy! EDIT: Cool new watches! I think I'll pass on them, but the pictures inside the clock part look great!
  2. Thanks for another brilliant, humorous and fantastically detailed review, Svelte! I love almost everything about this set! Lots of tan, almost two times the minifigs that the other modulars had, neat little mini-models like the chandelier and billboard, and much, much more! Tons of spectacular details everywhere. The guy with interchangeable pants is hilarious! Hopefully Jamie will keep adding funny things like that in the next "LEGO Direct" sets. It also complements your department store MOC very nicely! And I do agree that your plants are much better.
  3. Thanks for the video! I always love these kinds of play features. I agree, trans-green flame pieces would have been much better.
  4. Four of the newer LEGO Games are now out in the UK and possibly some other countries: 3845 Shave a Sheep 3846 UFO Attack 3847 Magma Monster 3848 Pirate Plank (change the country to UK to see the GBP prices and number of pieces) And the instructions for the sets: Shave a Sheep UFO Attack Magma Monster Pirate Plank Brickset also has links to the rules for Pirate Plank and Magma Monster. Also, five of the older games are out now in the US. EDIT: And there's a Dice Quest game on the UK's LEGO Games site. Enjoy! EDIT: The game turns out to be pointless. All you get is a badge for the LEGO Network thing. Also, if you can't find the pieces, they show the location of them in about 30 seconds.
  5. The pack looks awesome! We'll really be able to customize our army men figs with it. I'm just not sure whether or not to get it, though. It's expensive for so many little parts, but I know the time and money it takes to design all of the molds and to use a different color of plastic specially for the pack. If I don't purchase it, I'll probably regret it in the future, but my LEGO budget is very tight right now with all of the amazing sets coming out this summer. EDIT: Ooh, I noticed that almost every weapon is also available in tan! If someone could find a way to make tan army men minifigs, we could make some miniature plastic battles, just like the video games!
  6. Thanks for the scan Inky! It doesn't seem that good, but I'll wait for a review (by "review" I mean your's ) before commenting more on it. If it turns out to be good, I might have to subscribe for LEGO BrickMaster to get it!
  7. I bought 5970 Freeze Ray Frenzy ($11 - $1 over MSRP) and 5899 House Building Set ($5, normally $10) at Toys "R" Us because of the buy one get one 50% off deal that's running this week in the US. I just finished taking lots of pics (for a future review) and applying the stickers (they add a lot to Kranxx's bike!). The set is great deal for $10, and you get lots of extra parts (nine), too! I really wish that the sale included LEGO Star Wars, though. Then I could've gotten all of the $25 sets this year (and last year's Echo Base) for a good price.
  8. The chrome stormtrooper polybag looks great! I already have the magnet set, but the quality is horrible. The helmet and hip connects are extremely weak, and all the joints move around too easily. Hopefully these polybags will be of higher quality, since the parts are made in Denmark and China (I'm guessing that the parts are made in Denmark, and were chromed in China). This polybag looks like a great collectible that I would love to keep MISB! Hopefully It'll be available in other places, too. There are two bars that Han holds onto:
  9. Sweet, I like that Jessie keychain! Hopefully there'll be a Stinky Pete/Prospector keychain too, as I really want him. I'd also like it if the spaces between each word of my name were removed. Actually, keychains are also made in China. Most minifigs that comes pre-assembled or are part of the "extended line" (keychains, watches, magnet sets, tic-tac-toe, etc) is made in China. It doesn't stop me from buying them, though, as they are too cool to pass up!
  10. This is truly amazing! You've added tons of details to the interior, and I love it! Especially the chrome gold C-3PO near the Dejarik board game. I've always wanted to see something like this done the the UCS Millennium Falcon. Stunning work! I can't believe that I missed this. Thanks Mr.GanBit for reviving the topic!
  11. This set looks amazing! A heaping amount of intricately detailed printed parts, lots of cool play features, and a heaping amount of accessories - what more could you want? If this was sold today, I would definitely save up some money to buy it (Peeron lists it as $80 USD). I've added it to my want list on Brickset, and will keep a close eye on some BrickLink sellers and eBay auctions in the future! Thanks for this detailed review. Without this, I would've never known about this awesome set!
  12. Just saw the Toy Story magnet set at The Brothers Brick, and it looks great! Now I don't have to get any sets from the first wave of Toy Story sets except for Army Men on Patrol. Hopefully there will be a magnet set with the Prospector and Jessie in it in the future! I also wish that Zurg would be put in a magnet set, but unfortunately it looks like he never will because of his big slope instead of legs.
  13. Thanks for the link!8085 General Grievous' Starfighter looks even better now! I like the hidden flick-fire missile compartments on the sides, the repairing chair, and the trans-light blue thrusters on the back. 8093 Plo Koon's Starfighter is still uninteresting to me, but it seems to be different than Anakin and Ahsoka's starfighters, so that's pretty good. 8096 Palpatine's Shuttle seems a small in the picture, but the minfigs make up for it. The random placements of dark red, dark tan and white don't bother me at all, at least from this angle. 8097 Slave I looks even better now! I never noticed the small amounts of sand green before, and this picture makes the set look very sleek. Also, that gigantic printed windshield is awesome! No comments on the Clone Turbo Tank and Hoth Wampa Cave sets, except that I still don't like the huge amount of yellow in the CTT.
  14. Whenever I log onto Eurobricks, I always open up the LEGO General Discussion and News, LEGO Licensed and LEGO Star Wars forums in new tabs first. After I'm done browsing the first page of those three forums, I open up the LEGO Action Themes, LEGO Town and Other LEGO Themes forums. I then check out the Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds, Community and Culture & Multimedia forums. After that, I look around at the other forums like the Reviewer's Academy and Minifig Customization Workshop. Finally, after doing all of that, I then click the "Active Topics" button and look for any topics that I missed.
  15. I checked the Target in the Fremont Hub today, and there were still no Star Wars polybags. The City ones were gone too, with a couple of Duplo ones left.
  16. 1 x 1 vignettes all the way! ... Oh, there isn't a choice for that? Well, I guess that I'll have to choose the standard 8 x 8, then, as my favorite. I think it's the perfect size - it allows for lots of detail, and an easier build at the same time! My second favorite would have to be 3 x 3 16 x 16. Not sure why, I just like that size more than all the other choices up there.
  17. Thanks for the mini review! I really want this set, mainly to use the dog as my sig-fig (way too cute! ), but the minifigs and parts look great! I don't own the Camper, so the awesome female torso will come in handy. I was really hoping that the set would come with Agent Trace hair or a type of untied hair though, as I only have one each of those hair pieces. But still, I'm definitely going to be purchasing this set soon! EDIT: Lime green 1 x 1 round studs aren't rare - they appear in 46 sets!
  18. Happy birthday to one of my favorite moderators! Hope you get lots of LEGO and are having a great time! Pick your favorite Google Cake Shop™ cake (it's on the house)!
  19. Atamaii has a video of Mega Bloks Halo Wars at the New York Toy Fair: They actually look very good for Mega Bloks! I'm not going to get any because of my limited budget, but I would love to see reviews of these sets. Also, that diorama is set up very well!
  20. This looks very ambitious - can't wait to see the final product! It looks like it's going to be extremely detailed, based on the video and the diorama. There's tons of greebles all over the place! EDIT: Just watched your Hoth diorama video, and all I have to say is: WOW! Lots of great details, especially the footprints and trenches! I also love the use of Power Functions for the lights, door, and crane arm.
  21. I currently do not have an official sig-fig, but I plan on buying 5899 House Building Set and using the cute little dog as my official one. You could use any of these versions, preferably the top left one (please excuse the graniness of the pics as these are from the online instructions booklet): This is the head piece: Thanks!
  22. Great revival of a topic! Here's what I'm hoping we'll get sooner or later: Horace Slughorn Bill Weasley and Fleur (would be great for them to be in a Shell Cottage set) Fred and George Weasley (and maybe their joke shop to go with them? ) Professor Binns or one of the house ghosts Currently that's all I can think of. I really need to reread the entire series a third time.
  23. I've already heard of this a month of so ago, too. Eurobricks members starstreak and ACCURATEin both own one of these Max minifigs: starstreak Side leg printing! ACCURATEin A bit disappointing how Max doesn't come with his beanie with hair sticking out and his printed short-sleeved arms, but I can understand that they didn't do it because these are free and only a thousand or so were made.
  24. Just wondering, which Duplo figure/animal did you buy? You can see what you get on the back without opening the bag, if you haven't noticed it yet. Also, has anyone else noticed that now the printing is on the outside instead of the inside? Before, the whole bag was glossy because the printing was on the inside. Now, the printed part feels smooth and dull. TLG probably found a way to cut costs...

    M-O

M-O was my favorite character in WALL-E, and you captured his look perfectly! Excellent use of curves, and a simple but effective microbe obliterating tool (I just love anything in trans-light blue )! Probably one of the best LEGO M-Os out there. Also, congrats on getting blogged on TBB!
