  1. Is that an Admiral's daughter dress on the mannequin minifig I see?
  2. Wow, what a great find TheBrickster! After seeing those close-ups, it looks even more amazing than before! I like the technique of hanging the letters of "SHOP" on a flex tube, it really gives it a round look. That escalator looks very cool, again a great use of the flex tubing. And I love all of the other details like the chandelier, dark green awnings, and mosaic at the front entrance! The only thing I find weird is the scooter. The design of it just looks odd when compared to everything else in the set. But other than that, this looks magnificent! I can't wait for a review!
  3. I haven't had a dark age yet, but I think that it was the Droids Battle Pack, V-wing Fighter, and Ambulance sets that got me into LEGO in early 2007. Before that, the sets that I owned included two X-Pods, the Technic Hailfire Droid, Furious Slammer Racer, two buckets of assorted bricks, and a Technic set (all were gifts, I didn't ask for them). After building the three sets and playing with them for endless hours, I purchased the Imperial Dropship in 2008, then the Imperial Landing Craft for my birthday in May of the same year (I also purchased the Rebel Scout Speeder for Christmas). I then found out about the online LEGO community, and joined Flickr in November of 2008. From there, I discovered places like Brickset, and one day, I found a link on one of their news posts to Eurobricks. I lurked here for about 2-3 months before joining near the end of January (I still remember February of 2009, asking what an AT-OT was and getting a kind reply from ADHO15 ), probably the most life-changing thing that has happened to me. And since the beginning of 2009, I was and still am hooked on LEGO and hope that I will never enter a dark age. Wow, that's extremely lucky! (When I purchased my Imperial Landing Craft, I had no idea that chrome gold C-3POs existed too)
  4. Ooh, the Dagger of Time! Thanks Svelte! I have no idea what it does, but it looks awesome. And the ironic thing is that I know nothing about Prince of Persia, but I'm working so hard on these box arts! I've stitched together all box arts except for Quest Against Time, which I'll be finishing in a while. EDIT: And it's finished! Enjoy, everyone!
  5. No problem! I can't wait to see the reward! I'll do my best to make large box arts of every single one they have on Amazon. In the post up there, I've edited it with a 1105 x 813 pic of Desert Attack (I zoomed in three times on that one!):
  6. Well, I did the box art of Battle of Alamut, so I still have a contribution to make!7573 Battle of Alamut 1279 x 1005 resolution 7569 Desert Attack 1105 x 813 resolution 7571 The Fight for the Dagger 1175 x 760 resolution 7570 The Ostrich Race 1147 x 828 resolution 7572 Quest Against Time 1280 x 750 resolution
  7. I'm on it! Well, maybe only just the Battle of Alamut, since it takes about 20 minutes per box art. EDIT: Ah, this is going to take a huge amount of time. Amazon allows you to zoom into the pic three times (you can zoom in until you can only see the LEGO logo on the top left)! I'll just zoom in once and stitch together the pieces because the super zoomed in version will be over three feet long (about 1 meter).
  8. Thanks for the pics of the box and the bags! The box does look very appealing and valuable. I think it's odd how the parts and instructions for the LAAT/c are so unprofessionally bagged, though. I was expecting them to be sealed in a polybag with the usual high-quality instructions.
  9. Thanks for the review KimT! I've always wanted to see what was on the back, sides, and bottom of the box. Can't wait!
  10. I was making a sort of "rug" with my Separatist Shuttle 1 x 2 dark blue tiles today (purchased in October 2009), and the dark blue color inconsistency problem is still in existence (3/17 of the tiles are darker): Another thing I would like to point out is that my 2010 Star Wars battle packs have no slopes that suffer from smooth slope syndrome (SSS) except for the printed slope. However, my Separatist Shuttle had 50% smooth slopes and 50% rough slopes.
  11. I visit Eurobricks twice a day on normal school days (by that I mean non-early days or holidays), but each "session" is one hour long (5 PM - 6 PM and 9 PM - 10 PM, PST). But on weekends, I check Eurobricks maybe 5 or more times a day, and I always get so bored when I don't see any new news, posts, or really interesting MOCs. When that happens, I usually just take a few hours break off of Eurobricks and play some video games. And is it just me, or does anyone else sometimes get the feeling that there's some threads and discussions that you missed after reading almost every single new post on every single forum? Oh, and Big Cam, you really seem to be addicted to Eurobricks. Check my screencap of the top 20 posters on January 11th: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/ILikePi/...m_postsalot.jpg I decided to take a screenshot of that because I've never seen 56 posts by one person in 24 hours, and I knew I could use it someday. EDIT: Big Cam strikes again, now with 66 posts in 24 hours! http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/ILikePi/...trikesagain.jpg I'm not sure if I should be worried or happy for you.
  12. Wow, thanks Er!k for the huge pic and Legoliner Pilot for the small "official" pic! It looks amazing, but yet another huge set that I cannot afford. I love the tiny details like the billboard, mailbox, ice cream stand, and window washing platform. It looks to have a great amount of minfigs, too - there's five plus some mannequins! Also, Svelte's creation looks oddly similar to this (I say it that was because the design on this set was probably begun about 1-2 years ago).
  13. Ooh, thanks for that tidbit of info! I only turn on my light about one second every day, just before I go to sleep (it's right next to my bed because of a lack of other display space ), so it'll last about...*goes to calculator application on Windows Vista*...86,400 days. I'm really happy that this light brick was included in 10199, as it's my first Power Functions item and my first electronic LEGO item.
  14. Yeah, I don't think that another wave of Agents sets would do the theme justice. The first wave was beyond amazing with awesome sets (most notably Mobile Command Center and Volcano Base), but the second wave just didn't seem that good when compared to Agents 1.0. The $10 set was extremely small, the $20 was also pretty small, but Robo Attack and the helicopter set were too cool. So my thoughts are if LEGO makes a third wave of sets, they probably will not turn out well, as the theme had gotten a bit worse last year when compared to 2008 (I feel the same way about themes like Power Miners).
  15. The chrome is electroplated on, then the printing is printed onto the chrome. I'm not sure if Brasso would be the best choice for removing the print for chrome torsos. There might be a lacquer on the chrome or on both the chrome and printing that protects it from damage, but brasso might also remove the chrome as well as the print. We don't see chromed parts with printing on it often (and if we do, they're usually uncommon or expensive), so I don't think that anyone has any personal experiences on this topic.
  16. Wow, the Imperial officer with the AT-ST pilot/driver head than the Bruce Wayne one! I'll have to remember to buy that head on BrickLink in the future... Excellent shots as usual everyone! I really like Forresto's pic with Grievous and the Jedi.
  17. Erdbeereis - 2 points Svelte - 1 point I loved everyone's entry, but these two were the ones that stood out almost immediately in the first post. Good luck to the staff!
  18. Happy seventeenth birthday Grevious! Your posts have always been very interesting to read. I wish you many years of LEGO and good posts! Also, I was wondering, why is your name misspelled (actual spelling is Grievous)? And the cake:
  19. There seems to be something wrong with most of the helmets, at least by my experiences. The original ones that came with my set were fine at first, but after a day of placing the helmet on a minifig head, it got tight. Then when you pull it off and place it back on, it gets really loose. If you just push it very slightly, it comes off way too easily when compared to other headgear like Leia's hair, which has one of the best grips out of all the minifig headgears I have (not too loose, not too tight, and it doesn't have the problem of the Endor helmets). I then asked for two replacement helmets from TLG, which I got a while later (along with two extra commando minifig heads - I love it when TLG does that! ), and they have the exact same problem as my old helmets, except they are just a bit tighter. I even tried using the replacement helmets on the original Rebel commando heads, but to no avail. Even if you take the helmet off a minifig after having it on for a day or so, it's still extremely loose when placed on again, even if you didn't place it on a head for a week or so. A day after placing the helmet on, it gets tight again, but the cycle continues when you remove or turn the helmet. Here's the original discussion from August 2009.
  20. Thanks for this review Rufus! It doesn't seem like a good deal for the pieces, but the minifigs are extremely good for me as I only own R2-D2 and two sandtroopers with orange-black pauldrons and no rebreathers. But the Republic Swamp Speeder, well, that's another story... I think you should. You get Ben and Luke heads in a new pupil-eyed print and a sandtrooper with new curved black pauldron (the ones that Palpatine uses in the Venator)!
  21. Thanks for this perfectly executed review Oky Wan! I'm not sure whether or not to get this. It has lots of cool new purple parts and printed pieces, but on the other hand, it has an extremely high piece-to-price count. That pic with the huge cape was really funny. And the video was so hilarious that I had to fave it and rate it 5 stars in a heartbeat!
  22. I made a microscale Venator-class Republic Attack Cruiser using about 30-35 pieces from a copy of 8014 Clone Walker Battle Pack: Here's the technique I used for the front: The side wedges sort of lock into the cheese slope, so it doesn't fall off easily. Leftover pieces (minus one extra light bley cheese slope which I lost during the making of this ): I've got more pics here when public. Some notes: I spent 30 minutes to 1 hour making it. I woke up today and got an idea of how to make the wedges with the dark red tiles slant, and started making this, and after a few adjustments, got what you're seeing now. I know that the back isn't accurate, but it was the best I could do with all of the weird parts in the battle pack. I didn't use the dark red 1 x 2 tiles for the middle stripe because they aren't long enough, and it would be a pain to try to find a way to get them to stay in place! I was going to upload a video showing the technique on the front in action but my dad decided to turn off the internet 2 minutes before the 100 MB video was done uploading. What do you guys think? Thanks for the idea! I'll try making something with that next. The blue pins actually work well for my Venator, since the thrusters are blue in the larger set.
  23. Ooh, thanks for making this tag KimT! It'll help distinguish the active and long-term LEGO Star Wars fans on EB. Now to wait for January 29th before asking! How is that close, then? You have about 100 posts and have only been on EB for about one month.
  24. Thanks for this highly detailed review, Rufus! I never even knew that this set was so amazing before today. The greebling is perfect, and the stripes are extremely accurate to that die cast model. If TLG would do another UCS X-wing, I'm sure that many AFOLs will be very satisfied!
  25. No problem, it's always good to help the EB community. And I think that TLG does reuse most of their old models. In 2008 they had the wreath and presents (not sure what else they had since I didn't save them).
