[LEGO Ideas] Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Clone OPatra replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
There's no need to close this thread, as it's still a very nice MOC! Would like to hear from @Itaria No Shintaku about what happened, though. Seems strange.- 68 replies

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
Clone OPatra replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
Oh, I don't have it in every colour actually. It was in dark blueish grey in Indiana Jones and dark red in Pharaoh's Quest. Forgot it was in Pharaoh's Quest. Seven total colours, the others being tan, black, dark grey and light grey from Adventurers and now azure from Hidden Side. -

Yeah I had to get that one purely for nostalgic reasons! It's not even very expensive - less than some of the individual hairpieces Now I can say I have every colour. It's easy to collect something that hasn't been used very much. -

My order from December 31st finally arrived! Mostly a catch-up on 2020 minifigure parts and accessories. (Sorry the pic is a little dark and shallow focus). Like always, I can't believe this is actually 90 parts and cost $100 AUD after shipping.... -
Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I have no source for this, but I always figured the first wave(s) of Harry Potter sets were based as much or more on existing art found in other pre-film HP merchandise and the designers' own ideas from the books than on actual movie concept art/scenes. It was also a function of the time in which they were made, but design-wise those sets have very little directly in common with the films. -

1995 called. It wants its go-kart build back. Very odd collection of figures but, cool I guess? -

Seriously? SO soon after unlocking this topic and we have all these off-topic posts again? Cut it out. Stay on topic. Don't argue with the MODs. Use the report button and action will be taken as deemed necessary. Forum etiquette 101. Some people are here to, you know, actually talk about Harry Potter LEGO. -

A little refresher before I reopen this thread shortly: This is the thread to discuss Harry Potter / Wizarding World LEGO. That DOES include discussing any available information about said LEGO. That DOES include speculation and wishlisting to a certain extent (when it does not detract from discussion of actual information). That does NOT include discussion about political and social issues. That does NOT include discussion about the people who make Harry Potter / Wizarding World media. That does NOT include discussion of the media itself unrelated to LEGO. And it does NOT include discussion about leakers themselves, how and when they leak info, etc. If you want to talk about leakers and their methods, by all means make a topic in General LEGO Discussion and have at it: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/forum/5-general-lego-discussion/ Finally, rude and/or aggressive behaviour is not tolerated, even when done in a joking manner. Thanks -

Obviously too many people in this thread can't cope. 24 hour lock. Those of you constantly whining are responsible. Those of you who weren't constantly whining know who was, and know they are responsible. -
I don't think I've ever seen a side-by-side comparison, but is the Indo bigger than the Mutant T-Rex from Dino Attack / Dino 2010? https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=TRex01&idColor=80#T=C&C=80

Well Pluto is a special moulded dog piece and Goofy is (most likely) the same one from the Disney Train, but yes. -

My December parts order finally shipped though I didn't receive an invoice or notice yet. The order status was changed to "Confirmed/Cancelled" - part of your order has shipped and part has been cancelled. They cancelled just one part: 6270017, Lucy's scarf from The LEGO Movie 2, which is still in stock and purchase-able These are the strange ways of B&P. -

It's not just about piece count but relative size and value of a model (minifigures included, etc.). Given it's a Star Wars set and contains the apparently "high cost to produce" General Grevious figure, that one could reasonably be expected to cost $60 USD, though $50 would be nicer. Though the Buon Boat set has the new monkey moulds which could arguably drive up the price a little, it still looks like it has the value of a $30 set and definitely not $50. -

Besides the LEGO Batman Movies series in 2017 and 2018 and Simpsons series in 2014 and 2015. But maybe they have a hard and fast rule about it now. -

File this under the General Grevious' Starfighter category - $80USD for 487 pieces! The price of these two is so ludicrous that my headcanon says it must be that an intern punched the wrong price number into LEGO's internal system and the company had too much pride to correct it. -

This discussion about leakers is so tired. Anyone who thinks up the brilliant second account idea hasn't thought it through. What usually happens when someone pops up with zero posts claiming to be a creditable leaker? We don't believe them. And given how many creditable people are around, it will be extremely obvious if a new account pops up and is quickly proven to be creditable that that new account might be linked to someone else. It's also against our rules to have multiple accounts, so there's that. So, let's just drop it and move on. Be happy to get what we get. We could get nothing at all (which would also be totally fine, but obviously less fun). -

Unfortunately 49.99 USD is the real price. Brickset has the boat and Sisu Dragon accidentally switched. The Dragon is 29.99 and the Boat 49.99, which is absolutely insane. The only really well-priced Raya set is the polybag -

I've already had to drop warnings in this thread about deviating into political, left-right talk. You should know not to, so, next time it happens, every single person engaging in the discussion will be put in a time out. I know we've gotten a bit loose over the years with sticking to the topic at hand. But really, even bringing up that video game AT ALL is tenuous at best; bringing up something that has to do with someone working on the video game has absolutely no place here whatsoever. -
I believe they each have one exclusive one and two random ones.

They do sometimes, like the micro Diagon Alley and Charles Dickens Tribute (that one had two). -

The stacking classrooms would/could be cool if they can still turn into a display-able castle, not like what was done in 2001-2002 where you've partially got a displayable castle and partially got open rooms, and there are interiors on both sides. If they don't turn into that once put together, they'll just look like a pile of open shipping containers - which is a novelty in its own right but defeats the purpose of being a modular and rearragne-able Hogwarts Castle. -

We all know what TRUE Harry Potter fans want is a Creator Expert Ford Anglia. $250 is enough to include a buildable Howler with sound brick: press once for "Ronald Weasley", press again for "how dare you steal that car". But in all honestly, apart from a fair few characters that have been listed previously, a Ministry said would I think be atop most people's lists as it plays a prominent role in 5 and 7 part 1. -

I'm glad to hear your perspective and others who actually feel fondly about the original sets. You being up an interesting and worthwhile point about exterior vs interior. Personally I think the 2018-20 sets had the best balance thus far, apart from a few low points like Dumbledore's Office of Stickers especially. The 2010-11 Hogwarts sets were actually some of the worst in the interior department: the Great Hall and actually Dumbledore's Office were fine, but everything else was almost unusable, especially what passed for "rooms" in those skinny towers. I actually think the Great Hall portion of this new set is excellent, but the building with the tower is a mess in the preliminary stage, and also only exists in shape to match the 2001 set (which was part of my point about wondering why bother replicating an old set and not something from the films). My other worry seeing the bathroom set, which I like on its own, is that if they do follow the "stackable room" route it'll go the direction of the 2001 & 2002 line. Only a few sets in the range had exterior at all - so you end up with the actual castle portions atop completely open classrooms with interior on both sides. You could turn some of them around, but there back sides were unappealing. I'm.very curious to see if the other side of the bathroom will be tolerable as an exterior. I don't think that's too controversial to say - the original sets really were pretty ugly even if one likes them! Or if not ugly, certainly grungy. The 2018-20 ones have been both aesthetically pleasing and playable. While I'm willing to reserve a bit of judgement since these aren't necessarily the confirmed designs, I agree that that tower section is a pretty poor hodgepodge, especially with the tan extending all the way down onto the rocky base. Not sure what's going on. And while the Chamber entrance also looks good, I question again why it and the tower needed to be shaped after the original Hogwarts just to capture nostalgia instead of being shaped for whatever made the most sense for them. -

I think you mean Donald is featured in the logo in the right-hand corner, but he's not obviously in any of the sets unless he's actually driving the fire truck, obscured behind the confidential stamp. Of course, minifigure lineups are liable to change. A set with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto would be fantastic.
