  1. If you've got the cash, no problem! Seriously though, I think this discussion is starting to belong in the Events forum, unless a motorcycle enthusiast here actually wants to ride with CGH in which case it's still about riding motorcycles.
  2. What do you mean non-stop? Does this mean you spend three straight days without sleep or break dedicated to modding and doing LEGO related things? And also what do you mean "but now…", does that mean you're in college now so you actually aren't going 72 hours nonstop? Please stop and think in order to word your posts coherently, because this is very confusing.
  3. Sorry, but what is a Cr*ssbl*d*? I think knowing would help me a lot when it comes to understanding your creating, since right now it looks like the Small Car set except less complete and with bars. Thanks!
  4. Happy birthday KimT. I wish you a day free of us pesky Americans thinking it's all about the U.S., and other such bothersome trifles. May at least a few of your wishes come true, O Dark Lord of Denmark.
  5. I would say almost exactly the same thing as Big Cam. The decal certainly looks excellent, and this angle/shot is pretty good, but it is a shame that it's not a technique you'd like to look at from any other angles. If you perhaps modified the cape pieces themselves then they'd fit together, but I don't know if cutting up LEGO pieces is your thing (it certainly isn't mine). Still, it's a nice shot.
  6. Well, I think this is quite true. Apple markets itself a lot to people who don't know how to use computers much, just look at the latest couple versions of crappy iMovie that oversimplifies everything so that you can easily upload your home videos of little Johnny and send them off to gramps. I think Apple certainly is trying to market the iPad to people who are not so great at computers, and for them it's probably a good strategy. Because when you market it to people in the know, they'll see everything that's missing and not be so impressed, like we've heard in this thread. But computer illiterate people probably think it looks awesome.
  7. Well, usually my time spent on LEGO equals my time spent on Eurobricks these days. Sometimes I get/make time to put together old sets, take pictures for reviews, sort, etc. but on average it's just Eurobricks. Since I spend at least one to two hours a day on Eurobricks (probably), that's at least ten to fourteen hours a week.
  8. Excellent MOC. The detailing and figures are perfect, and you can really get a lot of emotion out of the Miniland scale figures. The positioning of the dad's head and arm certainly convey the emotion that you were going for, which is great! It really is perfect, but the only slight quibble I have is that the bottoms of the boys boots are one old and one newer plate, so one has a hole while in the round part while the other does not, which makes it look just a little funny. I don't mean to criticize, since I really love the vignette, I just wanted to point it out.
  9. In the Star Wars novel set right after EpIII (Rise of a Dark Lord, or something like that), there are a bunch more Jedi that make it to Kashyyk, or were there, but Darth Vader shows up and slaughters most of them. One gets away with Chewbacca and some other survivors in a shuttle, but I forget his name. Good MOC, but I'll agree with the others that it seems just a bit bare. Kashyyyk was in turmoil around Order 66, and Wookiees were being killed as well as the remaining Jedi. I think some more action would help out.
  10. I'm with Seigfried, not interested. I'd heard/read that these sets were made of crappy plastic, what is your opinion on that? Even though these are more compatible and LEGO-ish than Galidor, I still see this as Galidor 2. Unless there are some system sets too, I hope this doesn't last long, but there has to be four more sets, right? Since it is Ben 10…
  11. Hmm, I'd never thought about the parents complaining thing before. Personally, I like the nostalgia factor of alternate builds, but I think I like it as just nostalgia. Most of the alternate builds shown looked like utter crap, especially for Star Wars, but even for things like Castle and Adventurers, most of the time. If I were a good MOCer, I could come up with something way better than the ridiculous alternate models, but they were fun in being ridiculous. So really, I don't care too much that they're gone. They were fun and goofy when they were there, but mostly they were just a good laugh. And "Just Imagine," well, it's better than "Play Well," but I also don't care much about not seeing that slogan. I though it was always telling me to just imagine some crappy alternate models.
  12. Like Peppermint M, even those big repetitive builds haven't really felt hard exactly. The original Millenium Falcon was a bit annoying because it wasn't too stable, but building it wasn't so bad. Dropping it was much worse. The Black Seas Barracuda wasn't hard exactly, but I was surprised at how long it was taking. Not a complicated model, though, just a large one. I don't think I've really ever encountered something I'd call hard, but I have had some problems with gray/black differentiation over the years.
  13. If you can, please add mine. It looks like this: So that's a CW Clone with black commander gear and Irina Spalko hair. Without the gear is fine too. Thanks so much!
  14. Thanks for that link, I hope their information is correct. I can't wait to see in just under two weeks. Wow, it's really close now!
  15. Well, I've got a TV that's a square, but I will shut up about this now. I still think iPad =
  16. What second wave? Seeing as this is just one movie of a new series, I really doubt we will be seeing a second wave until a second movie comes out, if these sets even did well enough to make ones based on film 2. I've personally thought that this is going to be similar to Speed Racer, a one-off release that gives us some really great stuff, but then fizzles away.
  17. Maybe I'm thinking of widescreen in a much more literal sense, since the thing is clearly taller than it is wide, which means if you turn it on its side it will have a widescreen, and not be a square.
  18. I too agree the iPad seems pretty terrible. Not that I actually have a Touch, but if I wanted something to carry around on which to browse the internet all the time the Touch certainly seems better than the iPad. Though I think some of your points are incorrect Siegfried (pretty sure it is widescreen, you can probably call up a full touch-keyboard since it's wide enough), your general thoughts seem quite right. You can't really upload pictures to it or edit them on software, so what's the good in that? The main thing I think is wrong with it is the size of the thing. Reading the product descriptions, it doesn't sound like that would fit in any normal-sized pocket, so how are you really supposed to carry it around with you? I'll probably turn out to be wrong, but right now it seems like Apple has another Newton on their hands.
  19. I've got to go with stud-loving. Sure, there are some spaceships and buildings and such that people build that are all smooth, but I prefer LEGO set-like models. And, many of those LEGO artists out there (like Sean Kenney and Nathan Sawaya) have got studs everywhere, but their work is still completely stunning! I also agree with the playability thing, how are minifigs supposed to walk on a tiled floor, or sit on a flat couch without falling off when you bump it? For set-up shots, sure, studless is nice, but for actual models and constructions studs are the best.
  20. Though the Mandos look cool, I hate that voice talent for the head guy, whoever he is. He just sounds really bad to me, not very menacing, more like a weak guy trying to be menacing, but failing. I think one problem is that his voice is too smooth and plain, something more gravely and lower would make him seem cooler, to me anyway.
  21. Nope. The guy on brickset said there was a new hairpiece for Ginny, and the Elsa hair would not work for Molly, so that's a no to the Elsa hairpiece. Unless the guy was mistaken.
  22. Why is this relevant? Let's just keep this thread to posting your sig-figs, and not a discussion unless it's a discussion about somebody's sig-fig. There are other topics for numbers of things.
  23. We have confirmation from the report on Brickset and from the information on the website with these images. They say that some of the minifigures will be rarer than others, so how could that be possible if it was a jumble of random parts? If it's harder to get certain parts, then you could end up with a rare torso but never get the rare head to go with it? That makes no sense. The reports from the toy fair confirm that they are sold in whole figures, with some being rare than others.
  24. This has been an ongoing debate that goes nowhere, which finally died down. I hope it won't start up again and waste space in this topic. Just view the sets however you like, and keep it to yourself so that there won't be a purposeless argument. By the way, if you have not seen this link over in the Harry Potter discussion, it is from a person who was at the UK Toy Fair and provides some descriptions of things. He doesn't say too much about Star Wars, other than the Palpy Shuttle looks like a jumble-of-colors and the new minifigures are awesome, but it's worth reading.
