Gamer! I'd seen a preview, and thought "Hey, this seems similar in plot to Death Race, which was sweet! So this will be sweet too!" This is a case where I should've read reviews. Not that I always agree with reviews, but when every critic hates a movie that usually means there is a problem. Boy, the critics were right.

As Shadows just said: He was talking about the printing, since of course the torso itself is white and the hands are black.

Well, I'm in the U.S. And I like it. I've been to the Bahamas. I was only on Grand Bahama, but boy was it dull. Snorkeling was good, before my back started to itch insanely from being in still salt water too long. Besides the snorkeling, their are a few other cool things like the little vans that serve as "buses." The main and only real town on the island was quite derelict, as was this international bazaar that somebody had decided to build decades ago, but then became rundown, which was a shame. I hope to go to Canada and Europe someday, for a trip. Not the same trip.

Funny that they'd send prelims of a set that is already out to the Canadian Toy Fair, but I'm pretty sure it is just prelim. So much is wrong at the CA Toy Fair.

Correct. For the original Pirates line, LEGO made the musket. But for Wild West, the musket and its small counterpart would not have looked right, so they created the rifle and pistol of which the rifle appears in green in this set. The only other type of gun LEGO makes is the early twentieth century style machine guns in the Batman and a few Indiana Jones sets (though the mold and plastic type is a little different between Batman and IJ). I don't count the Agents guns since those were a fire nozzle, before LEGO decided to switch back to the older nozzle this year.

I wasn't bashing, I was just saying I don't need to/want to think about the whole time travel thing to enjoy the movies, and thinking about it can just get me confused. I think T3 actually is fun even by your definition, but I use fun to mean entertaining, sometimes. I personally classify a scene where someone says "I'll be baack," then a pause, then him smashing through the front door to be hilarious and fun, in a very good way. T2 wasn't "fun" I guess, it's my least favorite of the three anyway. But this is offtrack-ish, because I don't want to unsee the Terminator series.

Number 2 now in the first post, for your viewing pleasure.

Yah, if you're under 18 then you lied when it said to confirm that you're over 18 when you joined. Your point?

I hope dey do fat widdwe figoos dat fit nicewy in my chubby widdwe haans. Honestly though, I think Duplo might be a nice size for those oddly shaped characters. Though the system Rex and Hamm probably look pretty nice too, I can't wait to see pics soon (unless they also get black-boxed at NY Toy Fair, but I don't think that's ever happened before).

I guess I need to see Eyes Wide Shut now, since I love the other two! Ok, not love, but I for some reason like truly bad sci-fi, as long as it's funny-bad. Ever seen a Uwe Boll movie (def just mentioned Dungeon Siege, which I think is also called In the Name of the King)? Those verge on the edge of funny-bad and not funny-bad. I will usually stick with a movie until the end. However, I fell asleep after an hour of Ultraviolet, and did not care to keep watching when I awoke. The International, while the Guggenheim Museum shootout was cool, was a real bore with a useless ending. And I know this will rake the muck, but I found The Wrestler truly despicable. But I don't really care to get into why. Transformers 2, I sure wanted to leave. If it hadn't had the humans, it would've just been a dull action flick. But with the human scenes, I wanted to puke. I actually closed my eyes, just to try to block out the horrid pile of poo that was the dialogue. I liked New Moon. Not because it was good, but I just love that there's a series so mainstream that spawns movies so weird. I wish Hollywood put out more completely weird movies like Twilight and New Moon. I agree with what Seigfried said a bit back about Terminator. I like the franchise very much, but if you start getting into "he sent back a younger guy to be his father and then that guy died and then in the future he knew he had to send this guy back to be his father and then…", it's no fun at all. I'll just eat it up, and not put too much thought into it.

It's not lying to withhold information about someone, it's just selectively saying things. Who is going to go reporting all sorts of stuff about an acquaintance of theirs if that person joins EB also? The intent of the first post was to say "don't go about flaunting your age if you're under 18." That's it. Nobody's going to ask who old you are, and if they do, you don't have to tell them. Even if you're 45, you might not feel like sharing that, so it's no big deal not to share information. Just don't go about saying that you are under the age guideline.

Nope. I'm not a deformed cartoon Clone, nor do I have a Cleopatra-style haircut. Perhaps I'm a little like some of my sig-fig's getups, like the vest with tie and suit, since I often wear vests, and sometimes wear suits. But I'm really not all that similar.

I know what you mean. I'm not envious of people with the MOC Expert tags or customizer tags, because to be envious would mean I think I would ever have a chance at getting one, but I hold those people in very high regard. I know that the people with those tags are special in that they do top-notch, beautiful work. Maybe if I do enough Ninja reviews I could get a Ninja tag, though that may prove difficult for me.

World Racers Summer 2010
Clone OPatra replied to The Green Brick Giant's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
From these new pictures these remind me a lot of those racing/clashing sets from the early 2000s. There was the tiger guy, blue rhino, girl with green hair, red scorpion guy. These look like a rehash of that to me, and I never liked those so I don't like these much either. Some of the vehicles (like the ones with wheels) look alright, and the color scheme is nice, supplying parts in rarer colors. The use of the new Hoth visor is cool too, but I predict this as another one-wave-wonder. -
The new sets look ok to me. The dragster looks like their still needs to be some work done to it (and it's called Citadel of Orlan, but it's prelim). Looks like we'll be getting a purple fedora though, which is awesome! Great for Joker figures. I want to see that new bad guy mold head up close. It looks like a Jedi I remember. Annoying though that it's the only new head mold, and it's in all the sets. Seems like Space Police is already winding down to me. As Kris Abel seemed to think, Atlantis is replacing it as a focus for LEGO.

I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to be picky, I was just making an observation. I don't think it "ruins" anything, or even detracts, I was just pointing it out.

I know my post probably sounded like complaining, but it wasn't supposed to. I'm always very happy to get LEGO, no matter what it is, but whole sets is a real treat.

Cheese seems pretty good as an element of the decade, even though it hasn't been around for half the decade. The clicky-hinge pieces though, have been around this whole decade and have redefined LEGO hinges. I still wouldn't nominate it for element of the decade, though, since I like the old hinges better. Perhaps the bigger cheese with grille could also be nominated as the cheese of technology, since LEGO throws that piece in so, so many sets now.

I can believe that some parents complained, though it could not be a legal issue since LEGO actually put "instructions included for main model" on some boxes (like one in an upcoming review of mine). Still, I'm going to be optimistic and think kids will still decide to rebuild the set into something else, if they like building things.

Wow, that is truly exceptional for you! I mean it! A man I know brought over his son's old LEGO to me about a week or two ago, since his son is "too old for that now," but all I got was a huge trash bag full of different random parts for sets. I thought, I know what sets these parts come from, so what happened to the rest of the sets? You, on the other hand, are actually getting the real deal: tons of old LEGO, and complete! It makes my mouth water…

I'm not a MOD or anything (outside of Community), but I don't like this topic because it seems to me very close to asking for tags, or hinting at them. Just like hinting at a a title will not get you anywhere, I think hinting at tags is also not so good. If the staff thinks you deserve a certain tag for whatever reason, they will give one to you. But in most cases, you can't ask.

No, I don't think so. The story was in Lucas' mind, but never written down until there were novelizations of the movies that came out at the same time as each prequel movie.
-
Well, we've all got personal preferences, so watch them how you want. I agree though that you should go Original Trilogy then Prequel Trilogy. That's how they were released, so you should watch them that way. I, for one, like the prequel trilogy, and they grow on me with each repeat viewing. I do not like them as much as the OT, but they're still SW and have great elements. I rank all the films (in descending order): Ep4, Ep6, Ep5, Ep3, Ep1, Ep2. However, Ep3 I would say is the most fun and easy to watch again and again, since it's basically all fan-catered all-out action. That said, I kind of always thought that Ep3 was really only best for fans, and nobody else would really "get it." Whatever you do, just don't start with Ep3. And, agreeing with Seigfried, whatever you do don't watch the Holiday Special for a good long while, and you could probably leave the Clone Wars movie out too until you're caught up on the rest. The CW show is worth watching, though.

I'm unsure if this is a joke or you actually don't understand, so I'll attempt to explain myself better. Look at the bottom of the plates that are the child's feet in the first picture. Notice that in the center of the one on your right has a small hole in it, this is the newer piece. Compare with the foot on your left, which has no tiny hole. Now do you understand?

I know this may be U.S. related only, but it's been nominated for Oscar Best Picture. I personally believe even out of ten picks it's very likely to win since I think the Academy really wants to go with spectacle this year, and Avatar won at the Golden Globes. Do non-Americans care about the Oscars?
