For a facade it looks pretty nice. Though of course not as detailed as the models like GG, it has a very classic feel which adds some charm. Good luck finishing it out with a real back and interior, if you intend to.

Nope. The dark-skinned figure just has the standard Castle shortsword, while the other guard has the Arabian sword from the India Adventurers sets (and the 4+ Pirates), but in dark bley.

AH! Freaking gigantic picture! Seeing as one of the features is "back of the truck," that kind of says to me that it will not be the whole truck. We shall see, though. I assume Twitch is that weird purple things in the prelims of Lotso's dump truck, but who knows. About Potato head, I think we won't see him due to licensing issues. Potato head is not original to the Toy Story series, so I think we won't see him just as we won't see barbies or Slinky Dog. The army men were a toy before the Toy Story series, but I think no one ever really had a trademark on them.

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars

OH… Sorry for making you explain, but I actually find it funny now that I get it. I had no clue at all before, so thanks for not calling me an idiot for not getting it. Oky, I also am very confused about the Vader. Vader doesn't show up in the CW at all, so what's with that? I am also confused about Yoda, who looks like a goblin or sort of a green Gremlin from Gremlins. He doesn't look like the figure at all, nor like Yoda. -
That's just the name Andy uses for Hamm in Toy Story 2 when he is playing. I think it has no relation to a movie scene involving the characters, it's just a way to make a train set for LEGO the way Andy would play. I doubt Rex will be trapped with dynamite in a tiny toy train, just like the Western Town scene or the Buzz spaceship aren't really movie scenes, just tyed-in. I know the box has the confidential stamp on it, but Hamm looks like he has a monocle. It also looks like he has a bump on his head, which is support for the hat being removable.

Very lovely M-Tron color schemed base. It isn't the first thing I associate with the SPIII baddies, but the color scheme and details are so nice there's no way not to love it. Also, the incorporation of the rocky part is superb. It really gives the feeling that the Aliens have constructed their base out on some barren moon around the natural landscape, which is perfect.

Well, I'm sure it comes from the China factory, so who knows. Speaking of studs though, it's nice to see studs on Rex's back, so that you can seat a figure on there. That certainly adds playability to the Rex figure. Lotso, on the other hand, looks a little too non-Lego without a single stud on him, and being very styles like he is. Toy Story certainly brings some new sorts of things.

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars

Huh? I don't get it… I think SWIII can officially be dubbed most exciting news, seeing as so many people feel the urge to make a new topic about it. -
I think the info in the locked news topic on the Wampa Cave price must be wrong. It was reported that it would be $40 USD, so I can't believe it would be 50 Euros. Not that anything but the $40 matters too much to me, but that would be extremely terrible in Europe to be 50 Euros. Usually sets have about the same number price in the US and Europe (even though that's still worse for Europe). Where did the 49.99 Euros come from? On a related topic, I think $40 USD for the Wampa Cave is actually a really good price these days. It has a Snowspeeder, which I know they'd sell for at least $20 by itself without a turret these days, plus a cave, the new big Wampa mould, a play feature with the lightsaber, and some extra detail like the animal bones. All-in-all, it seems like a really good price to me, and an anecdote to those terribly priced sets like the Swamp Speeder (and CTT at $120 seems pretty high to me). I wonder why LEGO sometimes to make reasonably-priced SW sets, like the Landspeeder too. It seems like an evil treat to put out one or two sets at ok prices, and then some at really terrible prices.

Not clearer necessarily, but closer-up at the NY Toy Fair in five days. We will see some very close-up detailed pics of the sets, and probably videos of functions too (FBTB usually does a spectacular job). @ILikePI, I'm not sure it's new Luke head printing. It's hard to tell since he's upside-down, but it looks like the same slightly-smiling head from the Landspeeder to me. It's a shame that they wouldn't paint the Clone Commander with some yellow to make him Bly. That would've been super cool, and I'm not sure why LEGO doesn't want to make more commanders after the first three ( I know Rex is just a Captain, but you know what I mean). Fox didn't even have a big role at all, while Bly had almost just as big a role in that episode as Aayla. Oh well, I guess it's unlikely ever to see more printed Clones for some reason. The new minifigures that they did include, though, look super cool.

They look very cartoony, but I think it's a problem to start out with such lowlight, fuzzy pics. Having clear, sharp images expands your capabilities in PS, and it always looks better to control blurriness than have a blurry image that you have to try to make sharper. I would suggest using a strong light source, and making sure your shot is in focus. It will help a lot.

Ooh, thanks for those nice pictures. Really, they make me more intrigued for the movie then the sets themselves. Does the Lotso bear run a trash compactor? Or do the Aliens? Why is it called Alien Trash Compacter, does that mean the trash compactor is for compacting aliens? I sure want to find out. The train looks nice. Rex and Hamm look as they should, and it's cool to get a cow-catcher and an overall western-styled train. It looks like it might run on regular LEGO track too, I wonder if there will be some Power FUnctions modifications or something to make it run. That would make the train fans happy (and I'm sure it would make other people happy as well).

That little kid looks 30 years old? Looks like a little kid to me. I think this movie will likely be alright. It's got a solid director, not all his movies are so good, but they're at least solid if you know what I mean. The plot and story are pretty good, it looks to have good affects, and it has some good actors too (Dev Patel), so I predict that this movie will be quite watchable, but not wonderful. I hope I'm right, or it's better than I expect. Whenever I don't expect a movie to be stellar, at least I usually don't come away disappointed.

It looks cool, but it's a bummer it would never work in real life due to the angle and weight.

I highly doubt that that picture has a finalized blaster design. I'm sure it's just a preliminary stand-in, and we will see the real thing in a few dats I'm quite sure he'll have his jetpack. He's never even seen with it off, so LEGO would not leave it out. Don't worry. Most everything will be revealed in a near-final form in a few days.

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
Clone OPatra replied to BrickBob Studpants's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Do you mean first person playing (like such games as Battlefront or Halo)? That would actually be really cool, and give a nice new dimension to the LEGO games above the annoying "view of everything" style. Annoying to me, anyway, especially on the first games where you drag your partner along if you're playing two-player. -
I don't think this will spawn an insightful discussion, or any discussion at all. We don't really need advertisements for other sites, even if they're about LEGO, and I don't think it's very nice to be exclusionary in you topic sub-title. Please keep that in mind.

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars

What do you mean? The article says that it will be based on the animated series on Cartoon Network, which is season 1 and 2. WHat do you mean not CW on Cartoon Network, but the animated series? They're the same thing. -

Harry Potter Game - continuation of license after long gap. I don't think it means anything at all. I still find it interesting that they are calling it LSW III, but I guess it sort of makes sense since there was no other game called "III," but there was a third game. -
LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars

Except it's really Lego Star Wars 4, since III was the complete Saga. But still, cool news even though I can't read the article. -
Just curious, what version did you watch? The remastered with more shots and effects version? The original theatrical version (which is available on DVD)? The non-original and non-remastered version that was out for the decades before it was remastered a few years ago?

Totally agreed, though in the sci-fi realm this year for me it would be Star Trek. I have seen it twice now, and not only is it a beautiful movie just like Avatar, it also fills every second with stuff important to the story, has very little just thrown in for the heck of it, has interesting developing characters, has a not-very-cliched plot… ah, the list goes on for me.
-
Well, I suppose everyone is entitled to their opinion, and some people like super-duper effects rather than more on the character-development/emotions side. Though I wholeheartedly agree with you, def.
-
Star Wars had a plot based on and drawn from other stories. It also had its own unique characters, and some of its own unique twists and mythology and things like that. Avatar, on the other hand, seems entirely an unoriginal plot, with pretty thin characters and cliche-ridden like heck. That doesn't mean they stole the plot, Star Wars didn't steal anything either, they just used an old plot, and pumped it full of cliche. I don't think this makes Avatar bad, and it was fun to watch, but to me it makes it much weaker than other sci-fi films.

Wow! It looks great, just like the character. I like the fat arms, it makes her seem extra squishy, just like in the movie. Wonderful custom as always, Penguin! Wow!
