  1. MM Note: As I think I know where you're going with this, I'm going to roll for the lock attempt. Yelana inspects the briefcase switching on her Cloaking Device and allowing herself a little more peace of mind before trying to engage the locking mechanism with the pens. Yelana Sleight of Hand Proficiency Check (DC 3) - (2, 6, 4, +1) 3 Successes The agent hears a slight click as the case locks. Now knowing the mechanism Yelana is confident she can unlock the case with ease in the future if needed.
  2. Yelana finds that while the briefcase has latches, Yelana does not have a key to lock it automatically.
  3. Battle. The idea was to create a healing "class" without the need for potions.
  4. MM Note: You did, fixed. Regarding the astrix, I'll discuss it in the Quest Master's Lounge. Right now there's not a good solution to denote Proficiencies received as part of a reward and whether those would/could/should be able to be flexibly retooled like the other proficiencies can be.
  5. Yelana empties the case finding only business supplies: paper, pens, an abacus, white out, a small note with a child's hand drawing saying "Have a good trip Dad!"
  6. I'm good with the Guardian's new action. Good call switching Sleight of Hand with Medicine. While I like the Inoculation, I feel like "Once per battle" actions/traits need to be really strong, like the Berserker's or Pugilist's. The Medic's "Triage" while restricted can at least be used on each ally at least once. Inoculation is just a little to niche in its application especially when an enemy that can inflect negative effects can simply choose to target a hero that hasn't been Inoculated there by rendering the action almost useless. Good restriction on the Grenadier's action, hadn't thought about that.
  7. "Hey it's not like I'm trying to esc..." The Tvilgard is knocked unconscious. Yelana Perception Proficiency Check (DC 1, 3) - (6, 1, 4, 6, 2, +1) 4 Successes. After sorting through a good deal of luggage, the agent is able to find both a small beverage cooler weighing approximately as much as the gauntlet, as well as a similar style briefcase to the one the dwarf was carrying.
  8. "It's more a shared experience, really hard to explain to you single minded types. Now I'm done teaching biology, you lot got your pound of flesh with my brother's head, I'm done talking."
  9. "Thank you for your candid analysis. We will handle the situation with Lupin. I believe this business about their research may help keep things civil for the time being. A mutual understanding on their part considering what is already known. This will give us further time to either renegotiate or better vet their undertakings." The Quarm enters a few notes into a holopad and then returns to the heroes, "Now then, I've transferred the necessary credits to your accounts, you do have my thanks for assisting White Knight in this situation and I'll ensure to pass along word to your Guild concerning your performance. I'll let Agent Lars see you out. Farewell." The Thudaal escorts the trio back through the halls, they take a brief rest at the Clinic where Agent Molly joins them with food. After ensuring everyone encoured no lasting side effects from their dive, the pair of Agents saw the heroes off at the front doors of the office. "Well then, I guess this is it. Not a whole lot else I can do to express my gratitude for you all pulling me out of there. It was probably one of the most frightening experiences I've encountered ever since joining up with the company. I've also got to thank you for how you handled the debrief, I do appreciate your discretion." "Sounds like you lot really did not only us but a whole lot of others a good service. Not every day you come across folks looking out for more than just themselves. Here take these with you, my personal thanks for getting Lars out of there." 3x Adrenaline Decoction: (Consumable) Used as part of the Attack Action, grants a second attack 3x Bulking Stim: (Consumable) Used as part of the Attack Action, doubles Vitality till the end of next turn - 50 Credits "Got to agree with Mols, rare qualities you three possess... Now don't you worry about Lupin. I know Oddsphere can get a bit wrapped up in the contracts and business side of things, but that's management for you. He's just trying to keep things running smoothly and I'm sure he'll have us keeping a close eye on them in the future. We'll let you know if we run into any trouble with them again on patrols." "Patrols? I'm not letting you go diving for another week mister. Minimum. I was worried sick while you were in there for that long. They had to put a cot in the dive unit cause I wasn't leaving." "Yeesh, Mols. A little much? Fine, I'll give it a week, but just for you." The agents waved the heroes goodbye as the trio made their way back through Ebria Station returning to Heroica Hall their mission accomplished. "What do you mean you found the ਠੁੱਡਾਲ?" "It is as I relayed, my essence was ripped into the ਪਰੇ'ਦੀ'ਜਗ੍ਹਾ and there I was studied by ਹੋ'ਰ. As I dreamed my essence interacted with the ਠੁੱਡਾਲ. How he came to be there as well I do not know, nor for what purpose. His essence was bent to mine as is the rightful position of all ਠੁੱਡਾਲ. But then the ਹੋ'ਰ came and took him, they resisted The Collective, ignorant of the grace and mercy they rejected. But my essence did mingle with one of them and I discerned from whence they came. I can only assume it is where the ਠੁੱਡਾਲ have fled." "Then in due time that is where The Collective shall follow. For The Collective must grow." "Yes, The Collective must grow." MM Note: That's it folks! I'll have more to say later in the Mission Master Lounge and would always welcome feedback there as well. Feel free to add any farewells or last words in the thread here to the NPC's.
  10. MM Note: I originally planned on the hacking being essentially the same as swiping the key card, unless otherwise stated as hacking the door to permanently unlock it. So in this instance unless C_S wants to retroactively state she permanently unlocked the door, I'd rule that it was still locked. Zaria can of course try to unlock it.
  11. "Tvilgards share a empathetic link. You get used to working in tandem to a point where it comes pretty natural and you each handle certain things, ceding control when necessary. A Tvilgard could try and wrestle control back and forth, but you'd end up getting no where."
  12. It's always more interesting role-play to see a character build up their skills than to simply start as an expert. Glad you've got direction for your character.
  13. "Standard bring 'em in dead or alive. Serious contenders were supposed to show up at the site, no other info. Now if you're done, I'd like to try and get some more sleep. It's at least quieter here than in a Space Police cell."
  14. "Two heads are always better in the bounty industry than one. Heck we almost took you lot down and you had the numbers advantage. 'Sides, how are we supposed to know if the contract was legit, we were just replying to an add giving a location to show up at."
  15. Sure, we can make it free to Mission Master's interpretation as to what is abuse of the system. The trick is getting by in from players that the interpretation might vary from Mission Master to Mission Master and while one might allow you to constantly meditate in order to cast infinite spells because it doesn't break their game, another might not. I'm open to trying it and letting it go for a while to determine whether the community can keep it balanced. If they can't we can always reel in the strictness of the rule.
  16. As a better answer to your question. Backgrounds really should have little mechanical benefit, that's the point of Proficiencies. If you want your character to have the mechanical benefit of ancient languages for instance, take the Culture proficiency. One could easily say that one's character has a background as a genius, a polyglot, and a photographic memory, hoping to get mechanical benefits from incorporating out of character knowledge. While there are no rules against that, it's generally considered in poor taste from a role-playing perspective. It's fun to role-play a genius, it's usually not fun to role-play with a genius.
  17. Yelana Persuasion Proficiency Check (DC 1) - (2, 6, 4) 3 Successes "Listen, we already told you. We were heading to Con'stap for a business transaction... Some rich dude was paying top credit for a bounty hunting contract."
  18. "True and it may be a card we have to play in negotiating with them. I am curious what your leader has to say about everything, but afterwards you are free to go and thank you again for your help with the matter."
  19. MM Note: Right you are. “We just didn’t want to pay. We didn’t bring anything with us.”
  20. The Tvilgard stirs. "Huh? I don't know anything about a drone."
  21. It's still up for debate, but under the current rules it is a spell you'd have to prepare. You don't need to spend spirit to cast it as it restores Spirit equal to the number of successes rolled.
  22. Yelana Perception Proficiency Check (DC 3) - (3, 6, 5, 2, 1, +1) 3 Successes Yelana investigates the baggage car thoroughly and finds a small crate with a small access door that a tiny drone could be stored in. The crate is empty and has no other identifying markers on it.
  23. So when it comes to foreign languages appearing in my missions, my intention is usually for them to be out of character nods, same goes for names and are typically not meant to have literal translations in game to real world languages. So yes while the project name utilizes a Greek word, it's not necessarily intended for characters to know, "oh that's Greek". It's more for players to have an idea.
  24. "Then I'd hope there's a trusted security firm to keep that from happening."
